Died after one month

I had that hardrive (except mine was 500GB) for about a month and it stopped working. You could hear some buzzing inside but the computer would not recognize it. Called hitachi support. There didn't help. Lost all my pics and music. Replaced with Western Digital. I will definitely have two backups :)

This hard drive dead just 2nd day we start used. I never buy. Yes we can get new one, because 1year warranty. But our important data never back.

Flawless performance

I've used this drive heavily for over a year, and it has never missed a beat. I also have a Lacie enclosure with the same Hitachi drive inside and it has caused minor problems. I use both with a Mac.
