Great sounding Speaker
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this speaker. Love it sonud. pumping Bass. Great clarity. The only thing that bugs me somethings the bluetooth cut from my Nvidia Shield abruptly, not sure why. But other than that it's the best bluetooth speaker I ever own.

Awesome Sound.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great sound. Appreciate that you can adj. bass and treble. Multiple mics are a plus however when loud it still has problem hearing commands. But Great sound. Loud enough for inside without distorting or sounding overly boomy or tinny. Downside is its relatively large footprint but minor issue. Would still reco.

GREAT SPEAKERS WITH SOFTWARE ISSUE
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I want to start out with saying I bought two of these speakers to pair for my entertainment system. There were cheaper options, but I like the ability to have google built in. Now here comes the review. The speakers sound great and look great in the way they are setup in my entertainment center. They are Bluetooth capable and their lies the problem. The speakers by themselves play great and have no issues (using Spotify). The issue is when you connect the speakers through audio cable or through bluetooth using you're phone, iPad or TV there is a notable lag in audio. The lag is software and google is aware of the issue according to multiple forums. When connected through bluetooth to your TV and you’re watching a movie the last thing you want to SEE is the words from actors before you HEAR them through the speakers. The sound is wonderful, but this lag is annoying considering 399.99 per unit. Just keep this in mind if buying for entertainment or a DJ or anything that will make a lag in audio a huge deal breaker.

Tweaking required, but you can't beat convenience
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: * Great looks * Great sound, after a bit of fiddling. * Gets louder than almost anyone would ever need. * Cast feature works amazing with android phones. * Mics pick up voices better than expected when in use. * Google Assistant still seems better than most. Cons: * Audio is unbalanced and really base-heavy out of the box. (But Google has a first party equalizer in their app.) * Unit is pretty large and heavy * At original price of $400, one could argue going with Sonos or building an independent stereo system. * Input lag when using wired inputs. Wouldn't recommend using with a TV.

Great sound and excellent smart features
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like the sound of the speaker and how easy it is to ask for songs to play. The speaker is very heavy but I worry if I put it on its side it may tip over and dent or break. So far, worth the purchase, especially at the discounted cost of $150.

Amazing sound quality! Worth every penny!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing sound quality! It's big and heavy but once you hear the sound it produces, you'll see why. I am an Apple fanboy but hate Siri and the limited speaker options. I already have a nice collection of Google Assistant speakers and decided to include this one when it was on sale, totally worth it. Overall all the speakers I own, this is the best sounding one. My only complaint is the cloth, I hope over time it doesn't get dirty.

Great Music Smartspeaker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Google home Max is fantastic. I placed it in my living room for music when I have parties and it sounds great. I have hue lights around my place as well and being able to control the lights with Google home is the best. When I have movie night I have my Max set up to turn on the popcorn machine, turn on the TV to Netflix and set the lights to react with the TV. All in all, it is fantastic and simple to use for my purposes.

Good but could be better
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sounds great. One thing that is irritating is it disconnects from WiFi once in a while and you have to set the system up again. There is no way to play your own music library except through Bluetooth on another device. There should be a way to attach your own music library (maybe on a portable hard drive) and have the unit access it

Very good Smart Speaker; Excellent audio quality
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Google home max is both a speaker and an assistant such as Amazon's Alex or Apple's Siri. My opinion of the speaker portion of the product is that it produces excellent sound quality comparable to mid-price speaker. It can be used in mono mode or by adding a second speaker paired to the first it can play stereo. The best part of the Home Max is the assistant part. No more buttons to push. Aside from answering questions (weather, time etc) it can also control what plays. It has built in apps that allow it to play radio stations from anywhere in the US. It can be told to set an alarm for 7am tomorrow; chime in 20 minutes or play music and go to sleep in 10 minutes. It has a large set of voice commands. Technical support from Google is outstanding. I have used their chat support system and they quickly understand my issue/problem and provide a solution. Inputs are WiFi, Bluetooth and wired. you can use your smart phone to "cast" several music services such as Pandora on your iPhone directly via WiFi to the speaker. The Pandora app detects the presence of the Google Home Max and automatically adds a "cast" button on its song page (lower right). From conversations with Google support I learned the firmware is updated so your speaker always has the latest fixes and new features.

Good but not great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this for $299 during a sale ($100 off) so be I already have google home minis, Chromecasts, and Nest products in my home. All work fine with the Google Home app. The sound and base are good, and I used the Max in tandem with my Samsung 5.1 via my Chromecast Ultra to have a fuller sound when I’m streaming music in my living room. Only thing is, once you crank the music up, the microphone can’t hear you when u try to speak to the unit to use Google Assistant. If you’re playing loud music and wanna tell the speaker to play something else you either have to literally get right in front of the speaker and shout a command or use your phone.

Great on sale
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think my expectations were too high. I have a few Google Homes and Nest Audios, which I think sound pretty good. I'm not a fan of the sound from the Google Home Mini. I got the Home Max on sale and was expecting it to sound significantly better than the Home/Nest Audio. It does sound better (more full), but not as much as I had hoped. I do have it in a larger room than the Home/Nest Audios, so there is that difference which may be more significant than I'm thinking. I haven't compared it directly with the Home/Nest Audios in the same room. I would still recommend the Home Max if you can get it on sale, otherwise, just go with the Nest Audio.

Bulky but good quality bluetooth speakers
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're wedded to the Google ecosystem, like voice controls and want a loud and reasonably high fidelity bluetooth speaker, this is a good choice. Pretty much flawless in a Google Home environment. Only real negative is the footprint - this is large for a bluetooth speaker. The audio quality is ok - great in the bluetooth world, bass heavy and not particularly impressive for the hifi market. I didn't find the adaptive EQ to add much in a challenging kitchen environment. It was much better in a stereo pair than as a single speaker.

Google home max
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really like the speaker sound. Speciaally buying it on a deal. Did not give it 5stars due to the weight. On the heavier side...so not as portable.

Great Speaker but expensive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Google Max is a great speaker for music. It also has the powerful Google assistant. The only reason I give it a 4 star is because of the price.

Love it but.....
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We love this speaker, best smart speaker sound in the market, but the big issue with this speaker, is it cannot hear worth c*ap! We have trained it with our voices and have to yell at it, so annoying, it worked fine until a software update and google denies any issues, like always but their forums have it all over, oh well, still love the sound, loud and you can hear it in all of our downstairs (1700 sq ft) and backyard (speaker is in kitchen connected to the backyard)

Upgrade for sure!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great sound upgrade from the original Google hub. It connected to the network quickly and with ease, but it's not reliably connecting with each cast command from my Pixel 2 XL phone. It also drops the connection to my phone unlike my hub before. I could not have connected it incorrectly to my Google Home network, because it does it all by itself, so I'm left with thinking it is a application/software issue. I will continue to search for a solution and hopefully will figure it out.

Really sounds good.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sounds really good. It's a shame Google's doing away with it. It was not worth $400 but it is worth $150.
