Ok, Short technical lesson, this is a Honeywell-labeled version of a popular Vicks humidifier, which is fine,'cause it qualifies for the GeekSquad extended warranty, which is worth purchasing for these units. They _are_ well built, but there's a couple of caveats: 1) This is a steam unit, so there is a heating element, but they have no sacrificial anode, so if you have hard water, consider using distilled water in the unit to avoid scaling issues. (Plus distilled water at your local drug store is cheap.) If you can't manage distilled water, then using a good descaler every two or three uses is a good idea. 2) There is a medicine well at the top of the steam column, using this is marginally effective. You're better off using a vaporizer additive in the actual water. There are differences in how to go about this, so pay attention: a) Vicks or Kaz products - are safe enough to mix in during the filling of the reservoir tank. b) Generic additives, or anything oil based - You will probably want to premix your water, or possibly add it to the medicinal reservoir. You'll want to avoid adding these to your actual tank as these are petroleum-based products, and can potentially break down the acrylic in the water tank (and cloud the clear panels as well). An elegant solution a relative of mine had (who is a nurse), was to use an IV drip line for the additive, but I've not the space or patience to explain how to set that up. :) 3) Clean, dry, and inspect after each use. This is important. I've had three of these in the last 6 years, I kinda know what I'm talking about. Since there is water + electricity going on, things will get corroded rather quickly unless you take steps to minimize corrosion. All the plastic parts can come off the "working" part of the unit, most are designed to be Dishwasher safe (on the top shelf). The base is not. If you see mineral build-up, then use White Vinegar or CLR to clean it up quickly. Don't let it build up. Cheap alternative, just fill the machine with distilled water instead of using the tap. Enjoy!

This Humidifier gives off very little humidity. I am returning the product this weekend.

It fall down on the carpet and water tank broken. Otherwise quality is good. but the plastic quality of water tank is not that great.

I bought this because of the good reviews. I was excited to try it. However, I used it 3-4 times, and every single time water leaked from it.

VERY disappointed in this product! It worked for two weeks, sprung a leak and ruined $300 worth of books!

This product leaked and was very loud. I returned it to the store one day after buying it.

This humidifier is loud. Also, smells burnt before it turns off as tank reaches empty.

This thing only lasted one winter in Michigan and the insides fell apart.

Works very well and does emit a lot of moisture in to the air. It is relatively quiet and does not disturb me at night at all. However, the tank is very small, about one gallon, and has to be filled quite often. Runs for about 6 hours on high and about 8-10 hours on low.

Puts out a lot of moisture, over a very long time. Very easy to clean and wipe down. Not overly noisy. Easy to fill, and no leaks!

I have many nasal issues over winter and have tried what felt like a different humidifier every year. I saw the sale on this one and read the reviews. IT is rated for rooms up to 520 sq ft, so keep that in mind when purchasing! My bedroom is about 300~ so it is ample for the room. Having the humidifier on highest setting it will last for about 8 hours, low for about 14. Have had 0 issues, would definitely buy again.

after 6 years its still working and doing it job in a 30ftx30ft room

The product is quiet and produces a warm mist for winter use.

- Quieter than other warm humidifiers. - No filters are needed - It feels good in a cool room in the winter. - Good design I would definitely recommend this product.
