It cools it down but is really for use in one room up to that size. 550 square feet is the size of the upstairs and it cools down the room it's in but not much more. I leave all the doors closed to the rooms and this helps.

Great brand at a great price

We weren't let down by our choice either. Unpacking was a breeze as well as was the setup & installation of the unit. Works great and easy to use especially with the included remote control.

Good ac unit for 400 sq ft

Wish I could give it less than 1 star

Only problem is it doesn't cool the room below 80 degrees if the temperature is above mid 80s. I purchased this unit to cool a room that is less than 225 square feet and it just doesn't blow enough cold air to keep up with the rising temps from outside. Also there is no schedule timer other than an on-off timer. Really disappointing.
