I owned this for about a month before I decided to return it due to wifi connectivity issues. Tried different routers, reset routers, changed wpa/psk settings reset Thermostat to factory, as well as reinstalling app. With it losing the connection it would set my temp at 85 and therefore it would be like a jungle in my house by the time I got home. If it would have kept the connection I would have kept the device.

WIFI thermostat worked good until it couldn't communicate with our WIF? I had to leave work to reprogram. We returned it for the lesser model and have had no problem.

The geofencing is not straight forward in setting up. The thermostat was easy to install and set up. Has worked great. Just stay in bed and make the room comfortable.

Works ok, I expected more for the money. Geocaching doesn't work as advertised. Coming home doesn't turn my furnace up as it should. If I had to do it over again I would purchase a programable thermostat.

I don't understand the bad reviews this product because it is awesome. The app walks the installer through the process of removing old thermostat and installing the Lyric. Very easy! Linking/syncing was quick and easy. The app has a nice user interface and is user friendly. I love the look and the features over other smart thermostats on the market. Does everything I wanted it to do and cannot wait for Honeywell to issue more Lyric products!
Will add one constructive note: had to replace the battery upon arrival - no big deal. I was on schedule for a furnace tune-up and had the tech add a C wire (it was cheap). All of the smart thermostats on the market really need a C wire to proper work. What I mean is if you are losing connection or the battery is running down, then a C wire will fix the issues. There are kits on the market to modify the wiring on your furnace if you don't have an extra wire to convert to a C wire. Google it and you'll see what I'm referring to. Good luck!

Purchased one of these 4 days ago and installation and setup were a breeze but the product does not come with an instruction manual, which I think would be extremely helpful if one wanted to play with the advanced settings. Honeywell has a few youtube videos to help with the setup as well, which are sufficient to get started.
After installation, AC has been working as intended. However, geofencing, which is the highlight of the product has been intermittent or non-existent. We have two phones setup with the small geofence option. Over the weekend, both cellphones received all notifications and gefencing worked like a charm. As I started to explore the Lyric more, I discovered I had to enter the advanced settings to tweak how I wanted my heat pump and aux heat to function and I am still learning about the various features in the advanced menus. Ever since I decided to use the advanced settings, my geofencing and notifications have become intermittent and customer service has recommended at least 3 times that I reset the Lyric and start from scratch or that I delete the app and reinstall or that I delete all my shortcuts and redo them. I shouldn't have to setup a product from scratch everytime I change a setting. This is ridiculous. After my 3rd reset in 5 days, I am waiting to see how well geofencing and notifications will work.
If used as a standard programmable thermostat, it works just fine and the WiFi feature works as intended.
I believe this thermostat has abundant potential, but Honeywell's development team just need to get their heads together and address suggestions and concerns that users have reported on the Lyric message board. While Honeywell's customer service has stated several times since early summer that the voice of the customer is being heard I believe there are still several issues that are outstanding.
My biggest gripe is that I can't tell from looking in the app if the AC or heat is on or off. Other than that, the geofencing and notifications need to be fixed without users having to setup their thermostats from scratch almost every day. Finally, they need to add to or open up the geofencing radii options, which at the moment are limited to just two options - short geofence at 500 ft. and large geofence at 7 miles.
Based on current functionality, I do not believe the Lyric deserves any more than 2 stars. I shall continue to monitor progress over the next week and decide on whether it will continue to hang on my wall or not.

The hardware, software and setup experience feel really cheap. For a consumer friendly product, it's difficult to get through the setup process. $20 more will get you the nest - it's a better out of box experience, setup process, & piece of hardware (the screen can be viewed from all angles unlike the lyric)
In addition, Honeywell will spam you with emails even if you choose not to be contacted. I've received 4 since installing and marking myself private.

The installation is difficult and customer service is horrible. The only answer they can provide is "trace the wire back to the furnace", so unless your an AC tech then your out of luck. I'm pretty handy and still couldn't get this thing to work. The programming is also not user friendly. The phone app is also bad and really not worth the money. Im returning this, and reinstalling my old unit.
