With this fan, you can direct it very narrowly or have it oscillate. It has 4 speeds which is wonderful on a desk loaded with papers because the lower 2 speeds do not disturb anything. You can hear when on the phone with out difficulty. Great for an office or bedroom environment.

Do not let the size fool you! GREAT fan with multiple settings and also oscilates. Bought it for a bedside table to give us a little more air circulation in the room. The cats also love it - they lie in front of it. Quiet and perfect addition to any room.
