Seems well made, but very loud

There is are two filters... an odor-reducing prefilter and a true HEPA filter. I also like the 5 yr. warranty it comes with. What I dislike about it is the noise it makes. There are three speed settings. At the lowest setting (called Germ), it barely makes any noise. At the second setting (General Use), the noise gets much louder, and there is also a whining sound along with the fan sound. At the highest level (Allergen), the unit is really very loud. Anyway, even at the middle setting, I could not sleep due to the sound. It was really the whining sound that was annoying, but even the deep fan sound is still pretty loud. My second problem with this unit is the small area coverage. It covers 75 sq, ft. It was my mistake that I didn't calculate the area of my bedroom, but I figured it's a small bedroom so 75 sq. ft. is probably good. It turns out my bedroom is 144 sq. ft. I am returning the unit today and will try to find a quieter one that covers a larger area.

very loud!

On the low setting it is fairly quiet but the other two speeds will keep you up at night. I got this unit because I got it's bigger brother the HFD-320 and It's great! I returned this unit and gave up with finding a small air purifier.
