Customers are positive about the QuietCare UV Tower 3-Gallon Humidifier's large tank size, ease of use, and performance, with many praising its effectiveness in improving air quality. They also appreciate the adjustable fan speeds and the humidifier's overall functionality. However, customers are negative about the noise level produced by the humidifier and the filter's relatively short lifespan. Some users found the filter inconvenient to handle during refills.

Found this product listed as I was searching for a replacement. This was my 3rd humidifier in 5 years, and this one lasted 2 years and 1 month.
Good: The large reservoir was nice as it would last a full 24 hours on the highest setting. That was very good for our sinus issues and dry air.
For humidifiers, I thought this model sounded quiet compared to others I've had.
Bad: Impossible to clean - there is no way to clean the blades of the impeller fan without completely disassembling the entire unit all the way down to the wiring harness(20 screws later). 1-2 Hour job.
The air is pushed down towards the floor, which I thought was not very smart.
The filters are made in small quantities, are expensive to replace, last about 6-8 weeks max, and are hard to find.
While the reservoir was nice that it was large, good luck trying to fill it anywhere but a deep kitchen sink with a tall goose neck faucet. Impossible to fill in any normal bathroom sink as all of the water spills out when you try to upright it.
While the motor itself was nice, quiet and held up for a little over 2 years, the bearings on the impeller fan did not. Ended up sqeaking badly as it was running, took it apart and found the bearings had got very very hot. It went in the garbage at that point. Looking for something more heavy duty.

Great at keeping the humidity level where you want it in the room. Filter can be a bother to keep damp when not in use.

Purchased this to maintain humidity in the room where I keep a quality guitar hanging on wall. Unit does a good job maintaining humidity at setting. 3 speed, not too noisy. Low speed is quiet. 5 humidity settings a plus. vertical and compact. I like the water storage capacity. Nice looking in a room.

I was very happy with this humidifier for the first three weeks. But now it doesn't shut off. It will continue to run even when the humidity is much higher than the setting. I've even tried setting it on the lowest setting and it still doesn't shut off. It does work well to humidify my apartment, but part of the reason I decided to pay the higher price for this unit was for the auto shut-off. In this case, you might NOT get what you pay for. I didn't.

first one i bought had a noisy fan, so it kept me awake at night. i exchanged it at best buy for a quieter replacement.
it does a decent job at putting humidity back into the air and looks modern enough.
there are some useless features like the humidity percentage buttons. i mean do i really need do decide if 55% too much humidity??? or maybe today i feel like i only want 45% (range is 45 to 55 in 5% increments) big difference (sarcasm)
and the UV light to sterilize the water? is that really necessary? are you going to keep the same water in the tank for 3 years until it gets rotten and needs to be defunken by a tiny light? i drink tap water without running through uv light, why does it need to be sterilized to evaporate into the air?
the mesh element disintegrates after a few washes, even following the care instructions. and it gets really dirty brown, so you will need to wash it often. why does it get so funky? i mean... i purified the water with the UV light feature before it enters the element, didnt I?

I bought this a week ago because of the discomfort when I wake-up in the morning with dry nose. I feel the difference the first night. prior to using this unit, my humidity is 32% RH. right now its 40% which is with in the comfort zone (psychometric chart) though I have to refill the water atleast 2 time in 24 hours which most customers think its negative. for me the more I add water means the unit is working, where else did the water go except to humidify the air. infact the first two days I used it, I refill the water 4 times. Its also energy saving because i now set my heating thermostat 5 degrees lower and have the same comfort level due to increase humidity. bottom line is you have to keep it running 24/7 to maintain good humidity, humidifiers are not like light, you turn it on and every thing is bright. they require long time to raise even 1% RH.

Great multi-room humidifier.

This is a great multi-room humidifier. If needed, it can put out several gallons of water a day. It can be set to be fully automatic so that it comes on when the humidity drops below the selected preset level thus giving the user control over the humidity level in the surrounding area. During periods of low humidity may require refilling with water more than once per day. Does nor require frequent cleaning.

Bought at BB and used for about 3-mos. A bit noise in a smaller room (<250 sft) so tend to keep in far away or at the lowest setting. Filter was dirty so went to look for a replacement but BB doesn't sell filters - why would they sell the equip but not parts - and said we can order it ourselves from Honeywell. Went to Honeywell website and don't see this particular filter; other websites charge lots for shipping - a month later, still filterless.
Buy a humidifier with reusable filter or get something else.

Works as advertised

This machine works as advertised. I have had 3 of these and they have all failed way prematurely (2 -3 years) by the fan motor bearing failing (very noisy). Definitely buy the extended warrenty and don't stock up on filters - buy one ahead only.
By the way, this machine really cleans the air as well as humidify.

The one thing I hated about this product was that it blows the air downwards towards the floor. Well unless you sleep on the floor and or only bought it to keep your floors humid. I did however notice that I would fill the 3 gallons in the am and be emtpy when I got home from work. Not so quite at all so I left in living room on all day and night so atleast when I was watching tv I could shut it off. Im looking for a different brand this yr because I threw this one out last year

Terrible, dont' buy

This is a classic example of where buying something expensive doesn't mean it's good. First of all this thing is loud, you can't use it at night because even on the lowest setting it is loud.
Also, you need to replace filters every so often. If not, you start circulate moldy bacteria in the air. I am not looking for an air filter, just a air humidifier. This thing is the worst. If you want mine you can take it, it'll be in the garbage.

Replacement filters do not fit

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
Bought the HCM-315T last year. The Honeywell filters, actual manufacture filters, sold indicating they fit this humidifier, and others, is not true for this humidifier. I have to cut to fit the replacement filters otherwise the front of the tank sits proud of the seat and will leak. The humidifier does what it's supposed to, but this little, BIG, issue is a non starter. Make sure you can get replacement filters that will fit your humidifier before completing any purchases.

Humidifier...without the humidity!

This is a really neat humidifier that we purchased for our son's room. It automatically measures the water levels in the air and turns itself on when needed. Also, it includes a very high tech air purification system that works alongside the humidifier. Great value for money.

If you need a humidifier that puts out a lot of moisture and has a large capacity, this Honeywell might be worth a try. We have gone through several humidifiers before finding this unit, and are sold on this model!
Compared to the four others we've owned, this unit puts out much more moisture than the others, is quieter, doesn't make a mess either through leaks or spreading white dust everywhere (it sits on a dark wood floor in our condo), and has worked reliably for over a year.

The humidifier is rated for 700 square feet but it can't even keep the humidity up in my bedroom which only holds a full size bed. It rarely shuts off and the air is still dry as the desert. The fan also has a clicking noise each revolution.
