If it is from Hoover, it sucks

I bought it for the lift-off feature to clean stairs easier. It does lift off but the hose is too short to get too far from the canister (you have to carry the canister in one hand and operate the hose with the other)
My real problem with the unit is in the engineering. The hose detaches from the base (as is necessary for the lift off) however, the connection when it is NOT detached leaks. It has a rubber grommet which would be better if it was able to slide inside the hose end to complete the vacuum and complete the suction.
I also have problems with the dirt cup. Maybe the dirt in my house is special dirt, but it seems as though dirt gets everywhere that it shouldn't go in the machine. maybe that is why it has so many filters.
The vacuum says "no loss of suction" but I guess you can't lose what you don't have.
One good thing is the filter which apparently you just keep cleaning and never have to replace. Although you have to wait 24 hours between cleaning and using again.

Bought this Hoover air Lift Deluxe at the store, had the clerk price match the online sale for $128 which was a steal. Now I see it's listed even lower, definitely worth it for the money!
- it's easy enough to assemble, however some of the side tools kept falling off during use so we just removed them and put in the closet.
- Bin and tools are easy to use, filters look easy to remove, clean and replace
- Everything is clear so you can see all the dirt and stuff that gets picked. I kinda like this, some people may not
- Works great on our carpets and bare floors, so nice to have a button to turn off the roller brush
In response to some of the reviews I've seen on here:
- Yes, it's heavy, but I don't mind it, the handle is at a comfortable angle and the vacuum is easy to push. It is harder to pull, but I'd imagine a lot is more because you're pulling against the brush roller. The lift top handle makes it easier to carry up and down stairs . . . But I'd still think twice before buying this for my grandmother.
- Yes, the brush roller path is smaller than most other vacuums, but again I don't mind it. It fits in tight places and slides pretty far under and around furniture.
- No, it's not hard to control with the swivel. I found myself "steering" the vacuum a lot more than I thought I would, it helps create a nature flow . . . but if you have a soft grip, I could see how this could be challenging.
- Yes, it picks up all sorts of things. There was baked soda left in the carpet from our old bagged Kenmore vacuum from 2 months ago that this vacuum picked up!!! I only noticed it because you can see stuff coming up through the brush roller!
- you can roll it on the wheels for transportation. I don't think you can do this easy enough with the Dyson Ball
A few drawbacks:
- The suction is so great with the tools that it takes some strength to manipulate them. Vacuuming 15 stairs with the power brush in one hand, and the lift off canister in the other is tiring and can be difficult.
- The place were the power cord winds up is close to where everything snaps back together, so we have to re-engage the canister on the floor part before wrapping up the cord.
- The fit and finish is pretty good, except the spot wear the dust bin inlet and hose meet up. it's slight off on ours, see the pictures, and I wonder if these types of intersections would cause any leaks in down the road.
- Overall I'd definitely recommend this product, especially at the sale prices, it seems to be of high quality and is very effective at it's job.

This is the best vacuum I have purchased since purchasing vacuums for over 25yrs. I usually have to purchase a new vacuum every year but I highly doubt it this time. This one has good power and good attachments. It also works as a canister to detatch from the upright to get stairs or reach high withe the attachments. Excellent vacuum and it is stylish too. :-)

Our 15 year old-school clunker (Hoover Spectrum) finally bit the dust, so I literally dropped everything & ran out to buy a vacuum. I decided not to do my usual ton of research (like I normally do) because I didn't want to spend all day getting bogged down by reading reviews.
I almost got one of the fancy expensive brands, but in the end, I decided I'd try another Hoover (since our old one lasted so long). I'm glad I did, because this thing rocks & it saved me a ton of money.
Don't get sucked in by all the hype. I'd put this up against any other vacuum (having owned it for several months now). It has more than enough suction for our needs (and we have three cats & lots of carpet).
I really had no idea how far vacuum cleaners have come - or I would have bought a new bag-less years ago. If you're still buying bags, I challenge you to vacuum w/your old clunker & then vacuum w/this & you'll quickly see just how much dirt the ole clunker is missing.
I actually cannot believe the suction/cleaning power of this thing. I was astonished. If you think your carpets are clean: think again. We have three cats, so our vacuum cleaner gets a workout, but it continues to exceed my expectations! Definitely worth the price - and no more buying bags!
Be aware that you'll need to do periodic basic maintenance by keeping the filters clean. You may also need to free up any hair/string that gets tangled in either of the brush rolls (all you need is a small screwdriver & a couple minutes). The maintenance could not be easier. Folks giving one star probably aren't doing the basic maintenance to keep it running like new.
In sum, as with anything nice, you have to take care of it. I see no reason why this next generation Hoover won't last me another 15 years.

I love this vacuum
First of all its power of suction is amazing. I love all the attachments! They're all useful and it's super easy to change them. Honestly yes it's abit heavier then you'd expect but I can live with it. I carry my children all day. So it's not bad to carry 10min while vacuuming my stairs. I recommend highly it has so many features. The cord is long! The attachments. Easy to clean. Easy to carry up and down. Bristles can be turned off as well. It's packed with just about everything!

I did a lot of research on vacuums in this price range or less. I wanted one that had good suction, HEPA filter, and could make turns. I was probably sold on the fact that the canister could be removed from the unit. I saw good YouTube videos on the suction power. My old cheap Eureka used to keep up a lot of dust from itself, as it didn't have tight seals and no HEPA filter. I happy with my purchase. My only real complaint would be that it is very top heavy. Since the motor is on the top of the canister, it can strain your hand/wrists when vacuuming and making turns. It is also a bit heavy when trying to use in canister mode too.

Like this vacuum as I can remove the canister to do stairs. Good steering and smaller head to get under chairs/furniture and longer cord. Also nice that all attachments fit right on the vacuum. Only downfall is that it is a little heavier to handle compared to previous vacuums that I owned.

we were suddenly without a vacuum when both of ours died at the same time. this sounded like a good choice after I read the reviews. it is not overly heavy, I like being able to remove the canister for emptying the dirty contents, and it is pretty darn quiet. it transfers from one kind of floor to the other okay. but it absolutely refuses to suck up leaves the puppy brings in - I have to suck them up with the wand. and you cannot tilt it back a bit to pick stuff up. once you hit the foot icon to make the handle lean back, you have no way to tilt the roller part to pick things up. I do like that the roller part swivels. we will use this one upstairs where there is less dirt, and have ordered a heavy duty hoover to suck up all the puppy trails on the main floor.

Just blasting off a few things I have noticed. It is a bit heavy but it is worth it due to the power this thing has and not to mention the hose and connections are long. Suction is very good on both carpet and hardwood floors. It is very easy to maneuver around and steer in the direction that you want without too much effort. I think it doesn't sound too loud compared to a older 10 year old vacuum I used to have that had half the power of this one. Having the AllergenBlock is great since I suffer from allergies and haven't suffered much even with just cleaning once a week.

It took a little getting used to with the way it moves but I absolutely love it! It's light weight, it picks up everything. The cord is perfect size about 20ft, all the attachments fit perfectly on the vacuum and is not super bulky so it fits great in my closet!

This vac has a lot of attachments. You can use the canister alone. It seems to be a great vacuum, but I'm sorry that the cord does not retract. You have to manually wrap the cord around two pegs. However, the reason appears to be that there are so many attachments that are carried onboard. It's quite well designed and the suction is very good. The only reason I'm giving it four starts instead of five is because of issue with the cord.
