I have to say this is probably one of the best carpet cleaners I've used in years. We've always had dogs and with their messes and have always had at least one carpet cleaner on hand over the years. We've tried different brands and types and this one beats them all hands down. It's simple enough to set up and use, the automatic detergent dispenser is a great idea, no more mixing the solutions in the tank. We had recently moved into our new house and the previous owners did not clean their carpet that well, and on top of it the carpet cleaning company they used just before we moved in used recycled water and we must have been the last house of the day. The carpet itself was only a few years old and physically was in good condition, it just needed a good cleaning. I used our old "B" branded cleaner 3x and the water kept coming up dirty and on the third time the water coming up wasn't that dirty. I saw this was up on the Deal of the Day and grabbed it. Didn't think it would do much as the other ones final cleaning was coming up fairly clean. Well after setting up and running we were amazed that the water came up looking like chocolate mild "gross, really gross" but after that pass and trying a second time the water was almost clear. The carpet itself looks great, way better than when we moved in and everyone that's been over thought we had new carpet put in. Our neighbor that had been in the house before we moved in was convinced we replaced it till I showed her the cleaner and explained how much cleaning we had done to it. The dual brushes of this unit really get down into the carpet and get the deep down imbedded dirt out, it's simply amazing, and cleanup was super simple since you can remove the suction nozzle and lift both brushes right out. Just a great product overall.

I used to work with carpet cleaners when I would do housekeeping for my local mall and many of those machines were huge, heavy, and bulky. They got the job done but it was a huge hassle. They would only extract the water so it would take long to dry. This carpet cleaner by Hoover on the the other hand is the size of a vacuum! I was skeptical on how good it work given it’s size but it works just as good if not better than the commercial carpet cleaners I used to work with while being much lighter and easier to use. This carpet cleaner also applies heat while extracting the water which actually makes a difference. The last time I rented a carpet cleaner for my house it took almost 24 hours to dry. With this Hoover cleaner I cleaned my entire house in the morning and it was dry by that same night. I highly recommend this carpet cleaner.

Great Shampooer!! I love this carpet cleaning machine!! The last one I owned was a Bissell and decided to give Hoover a chance. So far I very happy with the purchase!

It does not get any better than this. I love my purchase, not only is it easy to operate it works great at cleaning the carpet and stairs. Simply fill reservoir with cleaning solution add hot water to the water tank and go. Push forward to clean and pull back to dry. In addition it has a dry only button to make sure you have removed excess water. Easy to use attachments and easy to clean unit when finished. Love it and highly recommend this to those who don't mind cleaning your own carpet.

Lightweight, easy to maneuver around the house, easy to clean up after use and did an excellent job on carpet, stairs and upholstery.

I have colored carpet throughout my house and the Hoover Smartwash did an excellent job, rivaling professional carpet cleaning service, even on the worst traffic-pattern areas. I like to rinse with plain water, so the ability to remove the detergent canister to do so was key in my decision to purchase the Smartwash model. The ease of use of this machine is excellent. I recommend using very warm water (NOT boiling) for best cleaning results. The machine removes most of the water and our carpets dried very quickly. I would definitely recommend!

I have to say I am quite impressed with this shampooer. I always rented the heavy rug doctors from the grocery, and paid half the cost of this machine. I recently had an old dog who was really hard on my carpets. A new puppy was the icing on the cake. I purchased this, and it works better than the rug doctors and is much easier to use! I do not regret it, and after 2 uses it has equaled the cost of renting that machine and lugging it into my car. This is so much better!

I had an old Hoover carpet cleaner that just wasn't getting the job done anymore. I saw this and thought, well it's a steal and it dries as it goes. That's a big plus. It was easy to put together, figure out where the cleaner goes (it comes with a bottle of it too). The cleaner combined with the power of the shampooer took out pet odor and stains that had set for months because nothing else I had tried would get it clean. I was kind of grossed out by how dirty my carpet was but so glad I got it feeling fresh and new. It's also pretty light for a cleaner so if you are looking for that I would say go for this one! Would definitely recommend. I have nothing bad to say about it!

The Hoover SmartWash carpet cleaner is a great product. It has a upright vacuum type design that is easy to use. It's a great value for the money. It will pay for itself after shortly after using it a few time (comparing the cost of paying a professional carpet cleaning company). It has a pull-to-dry feature that decreases the carpet drying time. The instructions are easy to follow. It also comes with a few attachments that make it easy to clean more than just the carpet.

My Hoover deep cleaner of 15 years ago decided to finally die on me so in looking for a replacement I wanted to stay with Hoover. This cleaner is much improved in it's ease of adding cleaning solution and emptying the large reservoir of water. In addition, a big plus is it's ability to suction out much more water than my older Hoover greatly reducing drying time. Very happy with this purchase and hope I get a long use out of it like I did my previous Hoover.

I'm one of those strange women who actually enjoy cleaning my house. Nothing better than knowing you are walking on clean floors, especially carpeting. The ease of use begins when you pull it out of the box. Putting it together is a snap. It is a solid machine. I was surprised to see how little cleaning fluid it uses and yet, my carpet looks excellent. It took me no time at all to finish what typically is a unpleasant chore. I highly recommend the Hoover SmartWash Carpet Shampooer.

This product worked very good on my carpets! I love the drying affect on this carpet shampooer. It’s lightweight and easy to use. I would recommend this product.

This Hoover carpet shampooer is light years better than our old Hoover machine. We have a dog who occasionally has an accident. Cleaning up quickly is not much fun but it’s cheaper and faster than calling the “pros”. This machine is lighter, controls are easier to reach, brushes do a more thorough job! But the two best features are: 1. it automatically sprays cleaning solution when you push and vacuums up the dirty water when you pull it backwards. 2. You don’t have to pre/mix cleaning solution and water- it’s done automatically!!!

This cleaner is AWESOME. User-friendly, easy to make do exactly what you want/need, easy to take apart, maintain, easy to clean the machine, and makes a huge difference... I have used the rentals and they just get you by. It is so worth purchasing this exact cleaner. I love Hoover carpet cleaners above all of the many others I've used. They are thee best! Love, love, love. If you have pets, a family, and like clean carpets, this machine is for you. It is so easy to assemble, use, and clean. Your carpets dry quickly and lool like you had them professionally cleaned. I love the how the forward movement cleans the carpet and the pulling back dries. The extra drying feature is a bonus and helps your carpets dry even better. And the parts come apart and reassemble with ease making cleaning the machine simple. Look no further, this carpet cleaner is the best around.

Used this to clean up some pet messes, it worked well for that. I decided to clean the other carpet around the house. It did an excellent job of cleaning and removing a lot of water. It was very easy to rinse the carpet with pure water afterward. I love how easy it is to clean, and how thoroughly you can clean. I have had a couple of different carpet cleaners in the past, and the one thing I hated was after cleaning pet stains, I couldn't clean the machine well or easily. This has changed that, I don't feel like I am moving something gross from one area to another.

This Hoover SmartWash is Excellent for cleaning carpets! I highly recommend this product. The forward WASH and the reverse DRY feature gets the carpet clean and the suction pulls so much water out that the carpet drys twice as fast as the previous Hoover carpet cleaner I replaced. By far the best Hoover carpet cleaner they have!

Excellent light weight carpet steamer . It’s easy to use and made my carpets new again . The only reason I gave it four stars is that the dry feature on the carpet doesn’t work well .
