We were looking to replace our vacuum and Best Buy associate recommended this model next to the expensive Dyson's. I am glad I took got this one and I am really happy especially I like it when I vacuum between carpet and hardwood floors no need to change any settings and works perfectly great. I recommend this product to any one whats a nice vacuum and does not want to spend a lot of money

We used our old vaccum on our new apartment carpet and we felt it didn't do so well. Went out and bought the next day and used it when we got home. Was able to pick up 2 containers worth of dirt. Really got into that carpet and made it feel a lot cleaner.

Not too thrilled about this vacumn, however, my expectations were not high to begin with it. I purchased this item instore today, took it home, assembled it then used it. De-boxing and assembly took about 30 mins total and was relatively easy, although I did have a wee bit of trouble trying to figure out how to install the holder (clip style goes on front of handle) for the Powered Hand Tool. You're gonna need a regular sized Phillips screwdriver or you will not be able to assemble the handle. It does not have an edge cleaner, which I didn't realize and for $130 bux you would think it would at least have that basic of a necessity. Without the edge cleaner like my last unit had, I realize now how much more difficult it is to clean any straight-edged surface. (wall, furniture, baseboards, closets etc.) I like the fact the filter is large, thick, durable looking and entirely hand washable. When you purchase a vacuum this inexpensive you really cannot expect it last too long, so why would you want to have purchase filters bi-annually? Doesn't make good economic sense to me. I purchased this to clean a medium sized one bdrm apt and for that this cleaner is adequate, but I would NOT recommend this for a regular sized home with a lot going on such as high traffic, large or active family, definitely don't use for picking up toddler messes or more than two small animals in the home.. The dirt collector bucket is tiny. If the carpets are really dirty (especially hair or fur) you're probably going to need to empty the canister once then finish. Ok, when you empty out the canister, MAKE SURE you hold the bottom hinged "door" open and off to the side when you are emptying it. A lot of fine loose gray dirt powder will completely go all over the "door" and I had to clean it with a dry rag immediately. It was gross and feel stupid for not thinking about it ahead of time but I learn and YOU benefit. The retractable cord is fun but short. Make sure as it winds up that you do not allow the cord to have any loops and expect the vacuum to straighten it out for you. Although I'm sure it could but it didn't really look that sturdy and I didn't test it. I figured as cheap but relatively well made as this is, if I want it to last and remain in decent shape for at least a full two years I'd better be gentle with it. It's good for what it is. It cleans, it picks up a lot of cat and human hair but it does have several points about I don't like. But it does clean the floor. Oh and don't expect a long hose because it looks like it's only 3 and half feet long and you're gonna need it to go along the walls because it has what?...NO EDGE CLEANER.

No need to pay Dyson price!

I was over my hand me down vacum that seemed to constantly need new belts and not suck hair from our 2 cats off the furniture . . . After reading reviews here on bestbuy.com, this was my b-day present to myself--I litterally was jumping around with excitment after the first use, and still love it after 5-10 uses so far! For the first use I performed the sweeper test by vacumming 1 room with empty old vacum and then re-vacumed with this Hoover: amazed b/c the old one picked up alot of bits and hair but the Hoover still had 2-3 cups more dirt from the same room! Our carpets now look so much cleaner without evcen steaming them . . . THE best thing about this Hoover is that despite powerful suction, the vacum does not try to suck up its own power cord or clothing ties, etc. It does a great job on both carpet and tile. The "power paw" i call it is simply amazing, as other reviews had stated!! sucks up pet hair quickly with one pass--a couch, loveseat, chair, and pillows all done in under 3-5 minutes without a trace of hair left! And the front part of the vacum is flat enough it will sweep under coffee tables, nightstands, and "cliff" of bathroom and kitchen cupboards where bigger models can not reach. I highly recommend this sweeper to anyone with pets! It may be heavy to carry up and down stairs for some people--we are on 1 floor. It rolls smoothly.

Simply stated, you get your money's worth. For $100, you get exactly that. It's light, easy to move around and you don't have to worry about bags.

It is a good vacuum for the price except the belt doesn't stay on. It takes 2 people to put it on. I have had this since 12/31/09 and I have replaced 5 belts. Every time it comes off I put a new one on because it is stretched out. Plan to return under Best Buy extended gtd program. I called Hoover and they said that there may be something wrong with the roller. I wouldn't buy this model again....Consumer reports rates this vacuum as excellent.. I have had this belt problem 2 weeks after I bought it.

I really like this vacuum. It performs well on hardwood floors and picks up pet hair very well. My only problem with this vacuum is the short cord. I have to plug it in each room I go in.

I previously had a Shark vacuum and it would only work for about 10 minutes and then shut off due to the heat. When I purchased the Hoover, this vacuum was amazing. A lot quieter than the Shark and it runs for more than 15 minutes without any issues. Real solid product. So far, so good.

This vacuum cleaner is great! I love that it has no bag to fuss over. You can easily see as the chamber gets full and it's so easy to dump out when you need to. Also, I LOVE that the cord is retractable! Should be standard with every vacuum. I only wish the cord was a tiny bit longer. Ovarall, though, VERY satisfied! :)

Replaced my old Hoover yesterday with this new one. I can't believe it. I had just done my carpet the day before. I got a whole cup of just plain dirt with the new Hoover. It's light. Doesn't hurt your back or shoulder pushing it. Retractable cord also saves my back. Thankyou Best Buy and Hoover for offering this!

For the money, you can't beat this vacuum! The suction is great and the attachments allow for easy cleaning of stairs, curtains, furniture, and hardwood/kitchen floors. The only downside is the color (only 1 option) and it is a little heavy hauling up the stairs while trying to cleaning them.

This vacuum has great suction power and gets the job done! We went from a Eureka to Hoover because of the credibility and reliance of the Hoover. It's affordable and convenient in everyway. Good at getting pet hair too!! :)

    Worth the Money

This is my first upright. It cleans my rugs and hardwood great!. I also have pets and it works great with their hair. It is somewhat forward self-propelled so it make it easy to vacuum. Easy to clean the dirt cup and very easy to assemble. Downside: Not flexible enough to get under the furniture and tight corners and as a senior citizen not always easy to move the furniture; attachments don't have as much suction power as I would like and the cord could be longer. I think it is a good value for the money.

Does exactly what it says it supposed to. I like seeing how much dirt/dust/dog hair is being picked up. I especially like that it doesn't get a nasty odor as vacuum cleaners with bags get from sucking up dog hair! Got it on sale, so I'm happy with that too.

I bought this because my old vaccuum died and I needed something inexpensive. Hoover is a known brand and the price was right, plus it looked like a quality product from the display. I was pretty surprised at how noisy it is, however, and the feel while using was kinda cheap. Also, I don't like that there's no way to turn the brush off when using the hose attachments - I vaccuumed the car rugs and the brush was spinning on my concrete driveway the whole time and I didn't know it. Then when I vaccuumed the carpet again I transferred mud onto the carpet. Lame. Okay for the price, but I'm shopping for something else.

We bought this vacuum about 3-4 months ago, and it picked up A LOT of hair and dirt. Unfortunately now, it overheats and doesn't run for more than 5 minutes. In my experience with having this vacuum, it was great on carpet, but not so great on other types of flooring. And the tube had terrible suction from day 1. I'm not sure if we got a dud, because it worked awesome for about 3 months. :|
