I read and read reviews and wow am I glad that I did otherwise I would likely be sitting here disappointed. I read a review from someone that previously owned a Dyson and she was happy with this machine and then I read another review from someone that pulled up carpet powder from a year ago. With those two reviews I figured this vacuum was worth a shot and I figured I could return it in 15 days if I was not satisfied. Well we are more than satisfied! We have six cats (not y choice, by accident) and we cannot believe how great this vacuum is on picking up hair. We have also both commented that our carpets look brighter and feel cleaner. The attachments work better than any I have used previously and, unlike previous attachments on other vacuums, they have not broken with two very hard months of use. We are thinking about getting a second one just because we we like it that much and we do not want to deal with a disappointing model change. We also like the carpet saver feature. The only minor item we have found is the that the cord remind is a little weak and you have to help the last two feet or so of cord in to the storage area.

This is a very good vacuum and it costs less than competing brands. We previously owned a Kirby vacuum which had it's merits... built like a tank but also weighed like one, easy to adjust to different floorings...but the suction was only OK. This new Hoover seems to be working fine with great suction, no bags to purchase, and also the plus of having a retractable cord. The easy empty canister is also a great engineering idea. If it lasts half as long as the Kirby, then this is a great purchase.

I have two dogs and three kids. I got this vacuum as a replacement for another brand. I have had this for two months now and so far so good. Does not lose suction and cleans up pet hair with ease.

This is more of an updated and improved review as I still have this same model vacuum from hoover that's 5+ years old! I used to spend a LOT more money on the Oreck Vacuums and this was due to a whim feeling that maybe it was time to go back to a 'Bag' vacuum from my old bag-less. About 7 years ago I decided to trash my average brand bag-less vacuums and go "high end" brand? When I bought the Hoover Windtunne 1st generation 5+ years ago I through my Oreck in the corner of my garage after It just came back from a "Tune-up" and I vacuumed my living room. That day my wife brought home the hoover windtunnel 1st gen. And I vacuumed right after using my Oreck! The windtunnel was far superior and pulled so much more! Jump ahead now 5+ years and my original Hoover Windtunnel is still working! The cord is finally freeing a bit from being rin over and the auto cord retract is finally starting to weaken, but that's minor, it just takes an extra tug and let it go and that's it..... The new Hoover Windtunnel we just bough was for 2 reasons. #1 time for an update, #2 The attachments will reach far under the bed! We have 2 long hair dogs! The original Hoover Windtunnel not only cleans loose stuff & hair but a startling amount of sand and micro-particles. I wasn't shocked to find that the NEW windtunnel outperforming the old windtunnel but was shocked at how much more it still seems to grab! I loved that the motor is much quieter! I love the addition to dump the waste out of the bottom of the collection cup instead of twisting and taking off tops! This Vacuum is worth every penny and will last you a very long time!

The unit is well made and not too heavy. The handle allows for carrying on staircases while simultaneously vacuuming the steps. The hose is too short and stiff to permit easy usage of the tool set. The self retracting mechanism that retracts the cord does not work well, i.e. if all of the cord is pulled out and then retracted, several feet of the cord is not rewound and you have to manually force it back into the recoil storage area. I also feel the cord is too short (an additional 5 feet would be very helpful). The unit does a good job of picking up dirt and grime. However, the dial to adjust the carpet depth brushes is problematic and sometimes the brushes turn when in fact you are vacuuming a bare floor, which is not supposed to happen. The unit noise if pretty quiet. Note that my unit stopped properly working the second time it was used. The motor overheated and started making a high pitched noise. Fortunately, I was within the 15 day window for returning the unit, so it was taken back to the store and another identical unit ordered because I am willing to give it a second chance. Maybe the first unit was a lemon? So I will try this unit again and if it doesn't function properly it will be returned.

I am very impressed with this vacuum. I like how you can turn off the floor suction and have only the furniture tube working. Gives all the suction power to the portion you are using. Cleaning is a breeze. I know longer have to wait till the bag fills and have it get stinky. I would recommend this product to anyone that is looking for a vacuum. It is light easy to get around. Good price - great product.

We've got 4 dogs and 1 cat so you can imagine the fur. This machine does a great job of cleaning the carpet and it's fairly quiet. I would highly recommend it.

We have four pets and I vacuum every day. I use it on two different lengths of carpet, hard wood floor, and the ceramic tile. It has many great attachments that work great on both stairs and small hard to reach areas. The suction is incredible and it is easy to empty and clean the filter.

This is the second time we've bought this vacuum, the first one had a broken switch because my wife knocked it over(oops). We have two big dogs, one of which has long hair and sheds a ton! This vacuum is able to pick up everything they leave behind and drag into the house so that our one year old can play on the floor comfortably. We are definitely happy, the only downside is that we have to regularly empty the receptacle because it fills up so quickly with all our dirt and dog hair

this vacuum is a little bulky and cumbersome at times, but it is efficient and picks up well. For the price I am very happy with the purchase

Excellent suction, picks up everything on my bare floors! Not very heavy and I love all the attachments! The pet hair remover tool actually works way better than I thought it would, I can clean the couches and dog beds super quick! I would absolutely recommend this vacuum!

Pros: Performance is good. It is very good at getting-up pet hair which is why we chose this particular model. cons:The plastic casing seems thin and may be susceptible to easy damage, but time will tell. The retractable cord is nice, but would have preferred a longer length. Lowering/raising the vacuum is not as easy as a prior Hoover model

Very good replacement for old vacuum .Does good on wood flooring. Does real good for pet hair .Very pleased with purchase.

this product is a great and easy cheap way to vacuum up your floors (both hard wood and carpet) works great with pet hair.

I am very satisfied with the vacuum, I needed a new vacuum with manual height adjustment. New carpet in the basement is a berber and was yanked by the old vacuum because I forgot to set the height. So, this was a huge selling point because other vacuums have an auto adjust which I do not want to trust. The canister is easy to clean, the suction power is great. I am very happy with the purchase.

The suction is very good in the vaccum and it seems to get a lot of my cats hair up but it is a very heavy vaccum and is almost a work out to push. The vaccum seems to heat up very quickly too. Good thing I did not get rid of my old vaccum because this vaccum is very heavy and would be killer on my 2 flights of steps

My son really like the vacuum suction is powerful, and the pet tool really works well. Would definitely recommend it.

It gets the job done and is very powerful. however I will give it 4 stars because it is a bit heavy. Otherwise it is an awesome vacuum.

The Vacuum picked up deep dirt and dog hair, effectively, its hand attachments are well designed, which enabled the hair to be removed from the furniture FAST and completely. More time for you, the job gets done faster. It picks up dirt as good or better than as those "expensive" oddly designed European models, you know the ones, look like Beach Balls for hundreds of dollars. I'll save my money or buy new carpet with the money I saved not buying those. Con: Electrical cord could stand to be longer. But, has a auto rewind which balances that short coming.

This vacuum has great suction, it's somewhat light weight, quiet, and does an all around great job. I would reccommend this if you have pet fur to clean up.
