I can’t stop playing Forbidden West. Love the art book and steel case

I thought I was going to miss out on the Pre-Order for this Special Addition but I lucked out and I was able to get it! Out of 5 locations nearest me, literally, only one location had it and that one location only had one left! All day the day before launch (2/18/22) I kept coming back to the page to see if the "Purchase Now" button was available and NOTHING. It wasn't until midnight, the morning of the 18th, that the button finally appeared. I loved the first game, I know I'll love the second!

The game itself is fantastic. If you haven’t already picked up HFW, I highly recommend you do. There are some visual and gameplay bugs, but Guerrilla Games is working on fixes and constantly taking feedback from the community. The special edition mini art book and steelbook case are gorgeous.

The first Horizon game proved to be one of the most unique setups in recent gaming history, which made for a really fun experience, and so the sequel had a lot to live up to that didn't disappoint. Like any good sequel, it doesn't fix anything that wasn't broken but still adds on enough new gameplay mechanics to avoid feeling stale. The writing and performances are top-notch, with the characters feeling even more memorable this time around. The world feels more fleshed out than ever, and it just makes you want to learn as much as you possibly can about it. I especially loved the extra material included with the special edition. For just $10 more, it included a gorgeous matte steelbook, an art book with plenty of beautiful concept art and a digital soundtrack. This could've easily been $80 or more, but I greatly appreciated the cost being kept down and providing a great value.

If you played Horizon Zero Dawn and loved it, you are going to have an amazing time with this. This is an improved version of that game, everything is more refined gameplay-wise but the core loop is the same as the first game. The story directly picks up after the first game so if you are new to the franchise I'd definitely recommend watching a story synopsis of Zero Dawn on YT or playing that first. No major bugs to report on the PS5 version of the game. If you are going to play this on PS5, get a PS4 version of the game as it comes with a free copy/upgrade to the PS5 version and is $10 cheaper. Other than paying $10 more to have PS5 on the box art and disc, there is no difference.

I really enjoy the open world rpg game and its graphics.

Horizon Zero Dawn was a great game, and Horizon Forbidden West is a great sequel that expands upon everything form the first game. The story did have some issues, mainly with pacing and some forgettable side characters, but overall was a good follow up to the original. It leaned into the sci-fi genre in ways I didn't expect but still enjoyed. I enjoyed the side content much more than the first game. The world was fun to explore and looked incredible (even on ps4). They expanded on the combat with plenty of new weapons. Honestly sometimes it gives you too many options and can feel kind of overwhelming, but having all those choices means you can choose how you play. I would give it a 4.5

Very big open world with lots of exploring and fun things to do. Also the steelbook is so pretty and great collector's item!

Loved loved the game. Spent over 200 hours and I didn’t even get the platinum yet haha. You can easily just walk around appreciating the work the devs have put in for hours without you even noticing. The ending felt very rushed and from a story standpoint, I liked zero dawn better. Nevertheless, it’s a solid game overall

Love this game for the storyline and action. The game has variety so you don’t get bored. Lots of side missions. Good addition to the first game.

Short but sweet review: This game is everything the 1st one was, only improved upon. And there's tons of side things to do, just from exploring. I have over 25 hours into it without following "that" much of the story so far, and the the story is getting interesting (builds well from the 1st). If you liked the 1st, you'll like this one even more.

I’m impressed at how well it runs on the PS4. The gameplay is smooth and shows vibrancy and depth. The cutscenes are a little delayed but it likely will be fixed in an update. Story is good so far and continues where the first left off. Great summary intro if you have yet to play the first. Controversially, both this and the first game are better than Breath of the Wild (and I’m a huge Zelda fan).

I love this game!! It rocks and elis very fun to play. Love the open world. Soooo much to do!

Main game story and pacing leave a bit to be desired, and unpatched visual fidelity and performance miss the mark as well. Even the PS5 upgrade and additional story content via the Burning Shores DLC don't do quite enough to push this above the first game. Still, plenty to do and like. It's just more about quantity with this release than anything. If you're getting this for the free PS5 upgrade, just get the PS5 version on sale, unless you can tolerate two slots on your home screen being taken up by one game. I'd give it 3.75 if I could

This is the best game series on PS. Without a doubt my favorite. Forbidden West was a very unexpected turn from Zero Dawn. Awesome new machines such as the Dreadwing or the Tideripper. Returning machines like the Thunderjaw or the rideable Charger. Preferrably I prefer the fire Clawstrider for a mount. I mean seriously, a rideable velociraptor. How sweet is that. New bows with more elements like plasma. This game is both simple and complex all at the same time. Having a futuristic device like the Focus which displays a machines weakness in realtime in the air in front of you while weilding a more primitive weapon such as a bow to bring it down is just a taste of how this game is. I have recommended Zero Dawn for a long time to people. And Forbidden West is even better. I would definitely recommend playing Zero Dawn first since there is such an immersive story and it would be somewhat confusing without knowing the beginning. Horizon Forbidden West is an absolute must play game.
