This is a strange set since the films are from various series but the quality is great.

This is the pinnacle of the genre for me because there was so much thrown into sets, costumes, and production. Today's horror movies seem to do well on low budget "reality" or documentary type footage, but it is nice to see so much craftsmanship and talent being allocated for the horror genre, which is obviously despised by the industry elites.

This set doesn't include the first of Hammer's Dracula or Frankenstein series, but for fans of the sequels (or of their first Mummy film), this is a promising start. I wasn't expecting remastered discs, but all four films look great considering their age. Bring on the second volume - it's been long enough!

4 Classic Horror films, most renown of which is "The Mummy" from Hammer Films. Excellent HD Transfer of all 4. Story lines fall a star short of 5, but all nonetheless very entertaining. This volume has sold out and gone OOP more than once. Worth owning. Thanks to Best Buy for stocking

This collection features 4 titles from Hammer Studio's 1960's reboots of Universal Studio's Classic Monsters with added gore and sensuality (to spice things up). All films look spectacular compared to there DVD counterparts.

This set is a very worthy purchase because it has 3 of my favorite Christopher Lee Hammer films - 2 as Dracula and 1 as the Mummy, and every title looks as great as it gets on bluray!

These are great Hammer Films releases on Blu-ray. Images are clear and sharp. Audio is fine. Hope the entire Hammer Horror Films collection is released on Blu-ray.

A decent introduction to hammer horror. Could have had more well-known movies.

While there have been a few Hammer film releases on blu-ray within the past couple of years, we haven't been given a nice set until now. Much debate could be had as to which Hammer pictures should or shouldn't have been included here but, seeing as the set is branded with "volume one", it gives us hope that more are on the way. Either way, I am personally thrilled that Dracula Returns From The Grave was included here because it's definitely one of my favorite Hammer titles. Anyway, these four films are excellent introductory pieces to the Hammer canon and aesthetic that could easily get the uninitiated initiated. Since many readers here will already be familiar with these timeless films, the main concern is probably the quality of the transfers. Myself, I fully admit that I was a bit skeptical because these are older pieces that generally were ignored insofar as special transfers and print clean-ups were concerned but, rest assured, the transfers included in this set are pristine. Even though I had already seen all four of these movies on VHS or DVD before I got this set, the transfer quality here was so spectacular that I felt like I was watching each film for the first time. If you're into buying blu-rays because you want exceptional picture quality, you can't go wrong here! All-in-all, this is a great set for any Hammer fan and I look forward to the next one with high anticipation!
