heard Oblivion on line, and knew that this CD would easily be equally as good, or even supersede it . I was right, I highly recommend this to anyone who likes rock.

These guys have the talent to display amazing musicianship within the "commercial Rock" format, so much fun to listen to the fills an unisons that naturally fall in between good lyrics and listenable composition. The easy pick for a single would have been "Fire" but really any of the 13 songs would do. Also, "Oblivion" is the right opener for any new fan wondering what the Winery Dogs are about. Glad to see Kotzen, Sheehan and Portnoy really behaving as a band and not just another "project". In closing, buy this album, you won't regreat it!

I first saw the CD on Amazon, it caught my attention because it had names from Mr. Big and Dream Theater, 2 highly successful 90's bands. I had a $5 rewards on Best Buy about to expire. then when I went to find this cd in the stores, it was sold out. That told me it might be good, so I mail ordered and not sorry I did. There are 12 songs and 7 are great 5 are really good. The drummer is solid and the bass thumps! The guitarist also sings and sounds a bit like David Coverdale of White Snake. The music is uptempo, the promo bills it as 70's music, but it is distinctly 80's with the guitar work, and 90's with the rhythm section.I like the opener Oblivion, the 3rd song Hot Streak is bluesy, some really sizzling guitar work on Empire and War Machine. My overall favorite is Spiral, a very unique yet catchy tune. I had no expectations and was pleasantly surprised, especially since I am a huge fan of 70's music like Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, Styx and Kansas and not so much a fan of 90's music. The Winery Dogs defy time, they are what 70's to 90's rock should have evolved to for 2015 and they deliver!

Picking up where they left off

When the first Winery Dogs album came out, I was amazed at the songwriting and composition of the tunes. Everyone knows the technical prowess each of these guys possesses, but the tunes came together in a tight cohesive package. Fast forward two years and we now have Hot Streak, a more diverse collection of songs but a set that I would contend sees the band maturing and growing. Simply put, just like the first album, there is something here for everyone. And Kotzen's voice continues to be the cherry on top as he delivers the goods on all of these tunes. If you liked the first release don't hesitate to pick this up as this has the band progressing on a very nice trajectory.

If you liked the first cd you Really need to check this one out! It has lots of good songs on it. The opening song Oblivion is amazing, Hot Streak( the title track) rocks too. Ghost Town is another great song & if you want a little more mellow check out Spiral. There's great drums, guitar work & amazing bass on this disc. These guys are truly a SuperGroup

This is a great follow-up to the first CD from the Winery Dogs. Lots of solid, creative interplay between these virtuoso players. The songs are great, the instrumental performances are great, and Richie's vocals shine once again. The Winery Dogs are one of my favorite new bands made up of players from some of my old favorite bands!

“Hot Streak” isn’t easily digestible ear candy for the masses, this is what music is supposed to be, wonderfully crafted songs played by people who’ve spent years learning their respective instruments, melodies, hooks, amazing harmonies, catchy songs, thought provoking lyrics, songs that either make you want to have fun, cry, reminisce or escape.

I bought this after hearing the first single "Oblivion" and it is a great album. A couple of the songs feel a little repetitive and longer than necessary, but Ritchie Kotzen sounds great, and the musical abilities of this experienced trio are incredible. Worth buying!

Their second album shows the musicianmanship of this power trio. Kotzen's voice is infectious and his guitar work is superb. Sheehan and Portnoy are the two best at their craft yet they show mature restraint but wow you at the same time. Another gem.
