The box came very beat up so I put it together rather than gifting in the box. Building it took about an hour and a half total. Pretty sturdy but the elevator is super hard to move up and down and I’ve heard this complaint from others who own it. I got it on sale for $93 otherwise I would never purchase at full price which ranges from $75-$200, it absolutely wouldn’t be worth it at that price.

Let me start by saying I had read reviews, and I knew better than to buy this. But, Santa is committed to making dreams come , so here we are. This is made of pressed wood, more like dense cardboard really, but dense enough to need screws to hold it together. The instructions that come with it are useful only for the furniture assembly later on, the actual house instructions had to be downloaded and printed. The poorly applied film over the boards that make up the decoration for the house was peeling a bit out of the box. There was also a strong, chemical odor when opening the box that eventually drifted away, but I'm sure was on some list of things that shouldn't be inhaled. It was about a two hour assembly process, and it went well with the downloaded instructions. This comes with a little cardboard moving truck, containing all the "surprises" for the dollhouse, and is one of the big selling points for kids. You have to open the truck and pull out some of them to get the house assembled, which kind of takes away some of the fun from the kids. A couple of notes about the final product: -It has a section with a pull out pool and hot tub. -The pool and hot tub are plastic and obviously made to be filled with water -Many LOL dolls have features that work well in water -Children like to play with water -Water will ruin this dollhouse It has already been an issue. A little water spilled from a cup even, and the bedroom floor in the second story is ruined. This is poorly designed, overpriced, and I am not happy about it. That being said, there is one positive that has come from this experience, and that is a new appreciation for the people at Mattel. For a comparison, I also assembled the newest Barbie Dream House, comparably priced and much larger, on the same night. It was a total of 35 minutes spent from start to finish, fantastic and easy to follow instructions (in color, no less), and completely made of plastic and ready for water play. Compared to this mess, Barbie truly has a Dream House.

Thank you for sharing your opinion. After initial production, some minor changes were made to the LOL Surprise House; one being to improve the water resistance on the areas designed for water play. Assembly skill sets vary, this house can typically be completed within 45 - 60 minutes, particularly when assembling it while watching the amazing assembly video on LOL.com. We understand that opinions differ, and so please accept our position that MGA Entertainment LOL Surprise Doll house is not even comparable in nature to the Barbie house. LOL RULES! MGA

My daughter was obsessed with getting this for her birthday and was so happy to receive it, I have no regrets. That being said, you are probably paying more for the pre-packaged 80 plus “surprises” that come individually wrapped in a cardboard moving truck than for the poor quality doll house. Well, the elevator track was glued on crooked at the factory and we couldn’t slide the elevator up and down as a result. Even If it it was glued on properly, it is really hard to move it up and down anyway. I have filed a claim with the company to replace the piece with the elevator track, but I did not receive a confirmation that they received my complaint or as to the status of my claim. And yet, they are quite explicit that if you don’t have a receipt or file a claim within 30 days of purchase, they will just ignore you.

My granddaughter wanted LOL stuff for Christmas only asking for the small stuff though, she isn’t a girly girl so I was excited she wanted lol stuff, we got her this, she was excited beyond belief, larger than expected. She loves it and even her little brother likes playing with it with her. Has more than your average “doll house” in it ! Pretty cool !

This was the one gift my daughter screamed at when she opened it on Christmas. She wanted this last year but the price was too much in my opinion. I got it this year on Black Friday weekend on sale, and I’m glad I did. It gets 4 stars because of satisfaction and it was very easy to put together. I can’t give it 5 stars because it is made with MDF board and it seems a little on the cheap end for such an expensive doll house. Some of the finished ends would start to peel back at the corners during the building stage, but I managed to get it together and you really can’t tell. Overall, if my 5 year old daughter is happy with it, I know it was a success. Bottom line- If your kid likes LOL dolls, you might as well get her this house.

This is a well built House. If you take your time while putting it together and do it right it will last forever! It took almost 2 hours to out together.... Since getting it for Christmas she has not stopped playing with it. Wish it was cheaper, but it comes with so many accessories.

Once together it will be enjoyed but how long it stays together is another thing all together. For the price I would have thought an area that contains pools of water would not be made out of MDF. The material just doesn't hold up to normal color changing play by a child. The instructions for the build are terrible and the online video is full of jump cuts so good luck following that as well. If the instruction were just a little deeper on the details it could have been done in half the time. BB want a yes or no recommendation but I think it comes down to how big a fan your child is of LOLs.

Great house but was difficult to put together. 4 year old loves it but the pool has cardboard material around it that gets stained as soon as the water hits it.

So my daughter loves this house , it had lots of good surprises , lots lots to open , that's a good thing The assembly was a pain in the butt but we did it , I would recommend using a molding nail gun when complete to just make it extra sturdy Only down fall is it comes with a pool and spa but can put water as the house would warp as it's made from compressed wood which is difficult to explain to a 5 year old .. but otherwise she love is

    A Real Dollhouse

This doll house is actually a real dollhouse made of wood. It is truly sturdy and is something that will last for years to come. A bit of advice, watch the instructional video and put it together as the video goes. That made it so much easier for me. I’ve heard the horror stories of how long it took a lot of people to put together. It would also be much better if the instructi Ms would be in color instead of black & white.

This dollhouse is surprisingly very well made. It’s not too complicated to put together but it is tedious because of the amount of pieces. It’s best to follow the instructions and go in order because for some of the parts there’s a reason why they did it in that order. My 4 year old plays with it every single day. And people that come over also comment on it all the time.

Kids love this doll house. The only negative is you need to keep referring back to the box image to ensure you are assembling correctly. The directions do not indicate very easily the correct orientation of pieces. This adds to the construction time. Made of good material though and should last through all three of my girls.

Just bought this as a xmas present so we haven't used it yet but I did open the box to check it out. Its heavy which is good so hopefully it will be sturdy. It's very colorful which my daughter will love. The truck holding all the blind bag surprises is large (made of cardboard) overall it looks like it will be lots of fun.

It was very hard to build and the instructions were at first confusing but I understood it once I looked online and read a little. It did take about 1-2 hours but well worth it. The home is so beautiful and when done right sturdy. It’s still standing strong and it’s a nice touch. Even the unboxing experience was pleasant

My girls were very excited to get this for Christmas. It is made of cheap particle bored and if you miss a screw slot, it ruins the bored easily. Also the elevator did not work very well. It did not survive our move.
