One of the few recent movies that truly feel complete, exhilarating, innovative, and simply charming. There is a strong through-plot with a satisfying conclusion. As opposed to a lot of action movies that feel more like a loosely connected series of parts. It's simple enough to hold a child's attention but smart enough for adults to enjoy. There is the usual uplifting but somewhat banal lesson about being true to yourself, etc., that all these movies have to have. But there are so many clever turns that it works as a whole. The animation is as good as it gets and the action and the flying scenes rival any live-action movie out there. I have not yet seen or heard the commentary with picture-in-picture mode. But the rest of the features are rather sparse and brief. You get a succinct idea of what went into the making of the movie, just not a lot of details. It would have been nice to follow the movie's progress chronologically for those who like to see how plots and animated characters are developed.

Great movie for both young and old. The story takes place in a mythical Viking world where a young Viking teenager named Hiccup aspires to follow his tribe's tradition of becoming a dragon slayer. After finally capturing his first dragon, and with his chance at finally gaining the tribe's acceptance, he finds that he no longer has the desire to kill it and instead befriends it.

Hands down, one of DreamWorks best animated films. It nails everything. Storytelling & voice cast are top notch but it is also one of the most beautifully animated films of recent memory. Oh yea, kids love it too :)

Highly recommended by friend and after my purchase I also highly recommend it to others. One of my favorite DreamWorks pictures of all time. Great for the whole family and has great characters you can relate to in some way.

This movie is a great family friendly flick. It's great for not only kids (my 3 yr old niece loves it) but fun for adults too. It has a great feel good story with humor as well as some action! Wonderfully done!!

My family and I really enjoy this movie, it's part of the collection because it's one of those animated films you don't get tired of no matter how old you are. The bonus features are also fun for the kids.

My kids run from ages 6 to 12. It is difficult to get them all to sit through the same movie. They were all excited to see it and enjoyed every minute. They even got up to dance at the credits music.

With part 2 comming up soon, I hadn't watched the first one and I had some friends who wanted to see it. The story was not very cheesy and had a lot of comical moments. I really enjoyed it.

My son watches this movie over and over again, we came to best buy and had the associate find it in the back because it wasn't on the floor. He was so excited to watch the dragon movie!

Man we love this movie. Fun for the whole family. I love the voices they chose; they are so fitting! You need to buy this and make it a point to watch it with your family.

I saw this in the theater years ago, and then just had to buy it for my 2 year old daughter. She was absolutely mesmerized the first time we watched it together, and she loves all the different types of dragons. The Viking humor is great, the action sequences are intense, but I really disliked the main characters whiny, nasally voice.

This was the first 3-D movie to come up after Avatar. While Avatar got all the hype, this movie was the better one.

This is a great movie, kept mine and my 8 year old daughters attention through the whole movie and we can't wait to see How to Train Your Dragon 2.

Really was surprised about this one. Thought it would be another lame Disney movie, but actually enjoyed it a lot because of the Vikings and Dragons

This is one of my favorite movies. Fun, uplifting story with a goofy, awkward main character. Very cute, exciting, and entertaining.

Fantastic quality, nothing damaged. Great product. With the release of "How to Train Your Dragon 2" upcoming, I felt it was necesary to upgrade form my DVD to a blu ray high def version of the movie. Great prices at Best Buy and when combined with my rewards zone card, it's a win win.

My son and I have watched this movie multiple times. Hasn't gotten old. We both laugh like the first time we watched it.

My Grandsons got me into this and even though I'm older I really enjoy not only the movie but also the series on tv.
