The filter simply does what it says. Filters out UV and makes for a clean crisp high resolution image and protects my new Sigma 18-250 mm Macro lens.

Hoya NXT always is slightly more expensive but their quality is superior to that of the other filters available for less money. You see much clearer with this filter and with considerably less glare.

I always put a filter on all my lenses for protection. Either hiking, walking through amusement parks or just being around family, it always seems like I'm either bumping the lens or someone is touching the front glass. Much better to clean or replace a filter than a lens.
As for this filter, I see little to no color issues or lens flare (I do use my lens hood all the time).

I bought this UV filter at my local BestBuy after being disappointed with a similar B&W UV filter I ordered from a competitors website. It cost a bit more but the difference in image quality is dramatic. The B&W had visible imperfections in the coating. This filter was pristine. I pretty much never take this filter off and it's definitely improved picture clarity.

This is an important accessory to add to your lens purchase, so if you want your lens to last a long time and to protect it, then you need one of these, unfortunately they are not cheap but they are much needed especially if you have paid a good amount for your camera lens.

to me, a UV filter typically is to protect the lens when bumped against foreign objects. To that extent, this filter does a good job.

As robust as most of the filters I've used. This has already proven a nice filter. Really a must have accessory to protect the lens on any new lens you buy. And the anti-coatings on it are a real plus... less cleaning

I ran around the hills of Nepal with my lens exposed on my Sony 10-18mm. I noticed that the lens was collecting dirt and dust, and soon realized that if I kept running without the lens cap that I would probably ruin my lens, with scratches or taken out completely by hitting a rock. I bough this to protect my investment. It seems to be doing a great job of what it's suppose to do, and I have no complaints

The only thing negative I have to say is the filter needed to be cleaned right out of the box. It had several streaks and dust on it when I first opened it. It makes a good protection layer for the original camera lens.

I bought this filter to use In hazy conditions and it does its job somewhat. Not to the extent I would have expected. Worth the price, though.

The Hoya NXT 62mm Multicoated UV Lens Filter is a good way to protect the front lens element. It is low profile (prevents vignetting). Hoya has been around for decades and produces distortion free filters.

To do outdoor photo shots and not use a lense cover is foolish. They are needed to enhance the images and protect your camera investment. They are inexpensive given the cost of replacing or buying a new camera.
