A good UV filter...

A UV filter is a must on any lens. UV filters protect the surface of your lens against scratches, dust, moisture and fingerprints, which in the long term can harm the lens coatings.
UV filters also minimize atmospheric haze, which results in better overall image quality. Protective filters also keep dust, moisture and fingerprints at bay, but are not as effective in cutting through atmospheric haze.

I got the filter free. So far its good. I don't like to buy cheap filters. I had done that earlier and sent them to trash within a few months. Now I try to buy only good quality ones. B+W has been my brand for a while. Even though I don't like to spend the kind of money, I really don't think we have a choice here. Bad filters are bad investments.
About Hoya, I have good and bad experience. My ND filters have been excellent. But I went cheapo with a 58mm UV filter and it was bad. not sure it was the filter or the way I stored them, I did not like it. Coming back to this filter, I have not had a chance to use it extensively, It had a hard time fitting to one of my lens, but fit fine on another one. No complains so far. Will keep an eye on it

Can't say too much about the filter. It seems to work well. I didn't get any significant glare. It'll probably take about 3-6 months of use before I can say definitively whether it's worth the money. For right now, it does a good job protecting the lens and is easy to clean without significant glare.

The Hoya NXT 67mm uv filter is great. It fits nicely on my Canon 70-200mm f4 IS lens and is very clear. I would recommend it to keep your investment safe.

For a "mid range" filter, this one does the job. It's priced right and very durable. My filters take a lot of abuse by always protect my lenses. I'd recommend this one.

Hoya filters are great... I know a lot of photographers who use hoya filters... Very high quality... Its not plastic like the cheap ones... This one is made out of glass... That alone will tell you that quality, is something we cannot sacrifice as photographers!

Let's be realistic. We use these to protect our lenses. In most cases, our lenses come with fantastic coatings and built in protection to keep glare and flare and double dare off of our pictures. But what protects the protection that is built in? Enter the Hoya Lens filter. It is solid and stops my fingers and dust and other things from touching my precious glass. I do wish for more weather protection, and a rubber seal would be awesome. But these get the job done and at a reasonable cost per piece!

This filter is a great and inexpensive way to protect an expensive lens. It does not lessen the amount of light entering the lens, just keeps out dust and scratches.

Bought a great Fuji XF16mm F1.4 and needed protection for the front glass. Threads are precise and the lens is now protected, unless I do something really stupid. Love Hoya lenses!

I read reviews of camera filters online and was warned against buying a cheap filter, so went with a Hoya filter. Hoya is well-known for making sturdy and effective mid-priced camera filters, and this UV filter is no exception. I purchased it to protect the lens on my new Canon camera, and plan to leave it in place until I need a different filter, say, a polarizing filter, for artistic purposes.

This is a great filter for the money, it honestly does not effect the quality of your shots.
