Bought for my husband who is new to computers. It's lite weight and easy for him to use.

Really, I wasn't expecting this to be as lightweight, functional and with exceptional battery life as advertised. For the purpose -- surfing the internet, email, FB, ebay/Amazon etc it's rather perfect. There was no intent to use this for computing (long range weather forecasting, photoshop etc.)......we have other computers for that (iMac, Mac Air, Mac Pro, iPad, PC's). I'd buy another chromebook in a heartbeat.

Got this for my mother in law. She is 74 and just learning how to use a computer. It was easy to start up has a nice light design and a bigger screen than the tablets we were also looking at. She has learned a lot about it already. Had some questions at startup, but she has never been on a computer before so that should be expected. I wouldn't use this for anything but net surfing. It is really not set up to be a powerful computer.

This is a great computer if you don't want to add programs. It is easy to use and doesn't require someone with an IT background to use. The only drawbacks are that you can't add any new programs like Microsoft Office. Other than that great little computer.

We are using online courses in our homeschooling endeavors. So everyone needed a computer but ones that would be within our small homeschooling budget. I also wanted something that would be totally online so no matter where we were my children would have access to their documents, activities, etc. by using Google. We also needed computers that would be fast to counterbalance our super-fast Uverse connection (3-5 Mbps if we are lucky :) ). I had read about Chromebooks and their benefits. We tested out this model Chromebook at BestBuy and bought two. They are extremely fast, the battery charge lasts all day long even when in use (8+ hours), it takes only a few hours (if that long) to charge it back up to 100%, everything can be saved via Google docs, sheets and the like, a very nice keyboard that is a dream to type on, a great screen (I have extreme problems with glare (not only on screens), and I can even use it for about three hours- my children use them throughout the day) and it is lightweight, but extremely durable. We are able to stream our classes, movies, Skype and pretty much everything we do on the desktop (the Chromebooks on wifi are faster than my new desktop on ethernet!). These HP Chromebooks have it all and we have had no problems with them. I highly recommend them for homeschooling, work and movies!

I love Chromebooks, I'll admit it. I bought this for my son and both I and my wife already use one each. They are fast and pretty reliable.....I'm not saying they don't crash once in a while because they do, but it's way less often than a PC and I'm not a fan of Macs. I wanted something for web use, and this is superb for that.....I turn it on and am online in 7 seconds, that's SEVEN seconds. Windows wouldn't even have started to boot up in that time. I realise that they don't do a great deal offline.....but you have to understand that and have to buy one for the purpose that they are intended. If you buy one and then complain about all the things it won't do they you are at fault not it, for buying the wrong thing. That being said, they do more than people give them credit for.....with 16GB of solid state storage I can do quite a bit before I have to start moving things around. However, like I said, that's not it's purpose and I do have a PC for photo editing and stuff like that.....it's just so slow in comparison. For web use, Netflix, that sort of thing...it does everything I want it to as well as anything can do it. The screens are smaller than most laptops but I'm fine with that, and they do appear to be getting bigger as each new model comes out.....just bear that in mind.

I really enjoy this item a whole lot, especially the key pad. The key pad makes it so much easier to type. I am a google/android kind of person, so it's easily accessible. I love the fact that everything is inter-related to google. gmail, hangouts, the google docs.. FANTASTIC

I bought this laptop for my daughter that is in eighth grade and it works marvelously. It is very easy to set up and as soon as we typed our google account in it was completely set up. It is light and easy to carry and has great battery capacity. Almost 10 hours with a full battery!

It works for what i need, which is typing papers for school and getting online. Google docs will take some getting used to but it's just because I've been using Microsoft products for so long. I would definitely recommend this product!
