I added 4 gbs of ram to this right away before turning it on. this is a fast one for the money. I build and repair laptops and desktops from my home and have been doing it for over 30 years now. and this one passes my test for upgrade and selling. that is why I bought 2 of these and sold them within 1 week. well worth the 199.99 but add the 4 gbs of ram it will help it out a lot.

A reasonably priced laptop with lots of interesting functions, even exciting potential. But, lacking manual or tutorial, as a computer neophyte I'm experiencing a very steep learning curve. Operation is not esp. intuitive. The current sociopolitical situation is a bad time for this kind of learning, esp. for entry-level seniors. Nevertheless, I will persevere. Ask me again next year ! For an average middle schooler, however, this would be a very nice machine.

I have had this since December of 2019 and I wanted to wait to write a review because I wanted to make sure it was going to keep up with me and it HAS. I bought it for school and it does the job great. lightweight and fast start up. I also make sure certain apps aren't running in the background when I go to start the computer (happens after you download certain apps). Just enough memory for me and holds a charge pretty good. I also didn't download chrome (my go to search engine)since I think it would suffer in speed. Microsoft edge does the job though.

I've had this laptop for 3 weeks and it works great. My laptop died and then I began teleworking from home. Ordered late Thursday night and it was delivered on Saturday morning. I was hesitant at first. Seeing all of the bad reviews with it running slow and the S mode being difficult to turn off. Well, I'm working for Unemployment from home and in addition to my work laptop I'm also running this one and it runs perfectly even with my workload increasing I have yet to experience any slow downs. S mode was really easy to switch out of. I even forgot about it. I opened Chrome and immediately a pop up came up asking if I wanted to switch out of S Mode. I clicked yes and it switched me out with no issues. This is a great all around laptop. So far I havent had any issues. It has a nice sleek design.

I returned a Lenovo laptop because it was too slow, and decided to go after this one. Hands down, SSD drives are the way to go moving forward. The speed that this thing loads at, from start up to shut down is very, very fast. Granted it only has 4 gb of RAM, but with a little know how, you can double that and make this thing go into beast mode. I had to put it into regular Windows 10, cause it came in S-mode, and that mode is pretty restrictive. Otherwise, this is a very nice laptop for less than $400 and the wife is happy. Happy wife, happy life!!

It doesn’t have anything special but it is solid for the price. Could be a little faster but that is minor.

fairly quick, Needs a number pad. Would like a larger screan too. Would be better with 8 meg of ram.

She just wanted an easy system to surf, email and some document creation. Working great for her. Nice and light compared to her previous 17".

This laptop is a good little laptop. Fast and very lightweight. Portable. Responsive and loads quickly. You won't be sorry. Good price.

I bought this just to have a cheap computer around to do basic functions (e.g. storing docs, email, word processing, etc.). The computer is really slow, so I couldn't imagine doing any gaming for it. But I only paid around $225 for it, so you get what you pay for. If you're looking for something cheap and basic, it does the job.

It was easy to set up for my middle schooler. It is just enough for him to do his school work.

I'm an engineer, this laptop provides a great balance between power, performance and stability, you'll not experiment any problem for browsing, office work and even programming. I've fully tested this HP laptop for the last 6 months and I'm pleased with the purchase, great price! The SSD its wonderful and you have the possibility to upgrade the laptop ram up to 16GB, it seems to be very easy to upgrade and I'll definitely try it out, you can even install 2 SSDs inside this computer, that's a huge point.

we bought 2 of these laptops. It had a great price point. It's good for school age (middle/high school) students to get and complete assignments. The only misgivings I have it the Microsoft - S that only allows you to use Microsoft products. We just uninstalled (not sure that the correct word) the "S" part of Microsof S to use other products.

We just need a basic laptop without all the bells and whistles. This computer is great, does what we need, to print things, check information quick and stays connected to the home wifi easily. It connected quick and easy and setup was a breeze. If you need a computer for a teenager or just for basic games and email checking this is the one for you.

It’s a good basic computer for school or work not very powerful just lightweight and affordable

For over 20 years, I have avoided any laptop powered by AMD. The ones back then seemed to be plagued by overheating. Well, this laptop was on a great sale, and I needed a laptop, so I figured I'll try it. It's been spectacular! It actually seems better than a comparable Intel powered model (which I have). What I mean is, when you have this computer on your lap, the temperature is essentially room temperature. No detectable excess heat. It has been a big, welcome surprise so far. I am enjoying it.

Used mostly on internet surfing/email/ and YouTube and other videos works well I use outlook and have not had problems with document signing only problem is a wireless mouse I purchased did not work well slow response and freezing lt work great on a surface pro though it’s nice weight battery seems good for several hours and nice screen picture I think it’s well worth the price like the keyboard but not backlit

Great laptop. Son has been able to play games and complete his school work.
