This purchase was made to replace a previous HP computer. It is an excellent replacement, but there are some differences with the keyboard with which I am adaptaing.

This unit is replacing a Dell Inspiron and will be used for personal use at home. Typing on the keyboard now, it could have been built sturdier and adding a backlit keyboard would have been a great addition. The screen could have been built more sturdy as well, but all in all, this is a great computer for the price, currently $529 online.

Excellent purchase. Price was in line with competitors and even a bit lower because of the sale. I already had a HP laptop for work so wanted another one for personal. I do a lot of 3d printing so needed something that could handle the storage of files. This is a great laptop. I'm very please with my purchase.

Buyer Beware - This model 15-fd0127dx, does not have a backlit keyboard even though the specifications page on this website says it does. I bought two of these laptops on 8/17 for me and my wife and returned them 8/18 after spending hours setting one up only to find out through their chat and by googling that this model does not have a backlit keyboard, which we both needed. Their own Q/A page says it does not have a backlit keyboard so I'm very confused, is this false advertising or a mistake? The manager on duty when i returned them was nice and knowledgeable, and right away said nope they dont have a backlit keyboard, she offered alternatives but would not match any other comparable laptops price to this one with the same or better specs., I wanted what I initially paid for and what was advertised! I paid $549 each, she offered an alternative that had a little better specs but was priced at $899, I asked for that one at the $549 price and she refused, she said one day prior it was actually on sale for $629. I didnt want to pay any more than the $549 I initially paid but told her I would take two of those if she would match her sale price from the day before of the $629 and she said she could not do that, she suggested reach out to customer service and see what they could do. I will also add that she offered switching brands to Dell or Lenovo and helping me find one comparable, but would have to pay what ever price they were marked at, not willing to match the $549 price I paid. I am not willing to switch laptop brands I only want an HP brand laptop. I left very dissatisfied and disappointed. So if a backlit keyboard is important to you, do not buy this model.
