This laptop is perfect! It gets the job done, doesn't lag, and is not overly heavy. Comes equip with windows 10, which is pretty awesome! I bought this as a gift for my mother for Mother's Day. She loves it! Especially that it isn't heavy (like other laptops can be). The functions and layout were very easy to teach her, as this was her first laptop. All in all a great purchase. Did I mention it was on sale and the price was unbeatable!!! Thanks Best Buy for wonderful Tech!

This is a decent laptop considering the price I paid for it. The performance is fine for everyday use such as surfing the web and watching youtube. The laptop comes with software to play DVDs. I had bought an Asus Windows 10 laptop at the same time as this laptop and the Asus Windows 10 laptop did not come with software to play DVDs. In terms of performance, the HP AMD A6 wasn't as fast as the Asus Intel Core i3 even though the AMD A6 was a quad core and the Asus Intel Core i3 was a dual core. The one thing I didn't like about the HP laptop was the touchpad surface was quite rough. I wonder if I would eventually rub the fingerprints off my finger from long-term use.

This computer does what I need it to, but is very slow. I often have to plug it in when there is a full charge on my battery to restart from sleep mode. I'm hoping that's a setting issue, but haven't had the time to call HP. My battery doesn't seem to hold a charge long and I've had it less than 2 months. Have always had HP and been happy with their products. This one, not so much.

This HP has a beautiful 15.6" screen. Excellent size for this budget. The mouse pad and keys feels like cheap plastic. From my observation, this laptop will need good care and regular cleaning or the surface will tarnish from regular use. The AMD A6 is sufficient enough to multi-task apps but do expect occasional lag if you're pushing the processor's power for gaming or video editing. It handles Photoshop real well. Laptop loads real fast and handles Windows 10 great. The battery is standard at about 5 hrs depending on use. For the price point, this laptop is a deal. For the long run..... I'm estimating 2-3 good yrs of use before system bogs down.

I have found performance close to Intel i3, so very reasonable for student or normal use. Runs well, overall good construction. Touch pad is a little awkward, but using an external wireless mouse makes good sense.

Although this laptop is not as fast as my homebuilt it does what I expected it to. easy setup, and runs with no issues. I purchased this laptop because I'm taking online classes to finish my degree and was tired of being tied down to the home computer. The WiFi works great and the screen is very clear. I had my IT guy review the operating system and HD. He stated this laptop, with the included hardware, is capable of handling up to medium online gaming thru Steam.

Pro - This was a great price on sale for $256 cyber Monday. It has the latest window version. Also, the apps on the start menu is nice. Con - I can't have too many sites open simultaneously. It moves slowly when I click on links and it freezes before switching between screens. It works okay for basic web usage. I had an ASUS the screen went out within the first couple months. I had to send it to Jamaica for repairs under the warranty. The ASUS continued to have other issues. I purchased the HP because the ASUS port hole is lose and would not allow the cord to stay plugged to charge the laptop.

Okay before I start let me just give you a brief background. I brought my previous HP Entertainment laptop six or so years ago. It had been through it all but finally the screen went black. The lights were on but no one was home. I wasn't ready to throw down another $1000 for a laptop. So when I saw this one I read the reviews and thought why not? Less than $300 dollars and if it lasts 2 years I'll be happy. First off this laptop does get pretty good graphics for games such as The Sims 3, I have all the expansion packs installed and the Sims 4 looks pretty good too but I only have the first one installed. This plays video well and clearly. It even has a cd drive which I love because that feature seems to be getting phased out for some reason. The sound is good too. The bads however are a bit annoying on this one though. First off the mouse on this thing takes getting use to. It can be either too sensitive or not work at all. I read ALL the documents coming with this laptop and still had a tough time. Thankfully I brought the wireless mouse which made this a non issue. Also Microsoft Edge doesn't seem to like most of the more common websites I use. Downloaded Google Chrome and its much smoother. Windows 10 is a bit of a headache as far as operating systems go but then they have been updating it so it has gotten better than it was. Like most hp laptops the fan is loud. Overall this is a good for the money laptop. Good enough graphics for the medium graphic games, easy enough to maneuver around once you get the basics down. Also there is a search function, Cortana, that helps when you can't locate something on the laptop.

I bought this laptop for my step-daughter, she is in high school and have a very tough schedule. It is light weight yet sturdy, has enough storage for all her classwork and her music needs. Once I install Office and some type of anti-virus she will be rocking and rolling. Currently I only have good things to say about it.

Got this laptop during Black Friday weekend. Was only $20 less than original price but only laptop available in stock. Bought online and Picked it up at store next day. Waited in line for awhile eventhough there was 3 registers open if you are purchasing in person. Compared with few reviews online. Gd working laptop although fully charged battery indicated only 3 hours. Will call store regarding that. Otherwise it's Light, sleek, came w/ 6 months anti virus. But for $50 more I would rather have purchased the one w/ touchscreen.

We needed a Laptop that could handle my son's specific needs for his on-line home-schooling. The HP-15.6" Laptop-AMD A6-Series-4GB Memory - 500GB Hard Drive - has not only met, but has far exceeded our expectations. The built-in, front facing webcam, with digital microphone, makes on-line meetings with teachers so easy and stress-free. The dual speakers help give this Laptop very good, clear sound. My son can watch his daily on-line classes "live," the same as if he is sitting in the classroom. This Laptop is a great computer at a really great price.

For the money spent it works fine. I down graded form an hp envy so I was use to a fast computer. This runs slower but it is what I expected. The computer handles what I need to do just fine. I am happy with this purchase.

We purchased this as a Christmas gift for our teenager and I was extremely impressed with the ease of purchase and the fast and safe delivery. The design of the laptop is very slick and comes pre-installed with everything needed to have her up and running for things she needs for school and wants. Windows 10 is awesome and everything is good to go. The cost was excellent for the value received.

She loved her Christmas gift. She just turned 12 years old in Sept. and really wanted one of her own instead of having to share the family one. She needed a little help with setting it all up, but it gave my daughter and myself a great way for all three of us to inter act since 3 generations all have different skill levels with a computer. She says it's the best gift ever! It came loaded with windows 10 so it is new to all of us. We look forward to learning about 10 together.

While this machine might not have all the bells and whistles it does the job. The screen is large enough to see. While the keys lack backlighting, that is not an essential feature. It has the ports, CD drawer, SD card slot that I need. It can be connected to a non-wireless projector. The price was good. It picks up my Wi-Fi signal quite well. It is running Windows 10, which I find easy to use, but a bit different. Maybe it is a bit too secure with locking up if I close the lid. Perhaps I just have to change a setting of some sort.
