I purchased 2 comptures from Dell directly and the tech support within 5 yrs. You name it i added it on my Inspiron, but it was costly, very costly and so was their tech support. I though purchases of both a Dell and direct from the manufacturer somehow guaranteed great pricing and or great service and devices. I found that this is not the case. Seriously i never seen a computer advertised for the low price Best buy offered. The price doesn't refelect, (lessen) or determine the quality of this device. It fits any budget, its fast, visually easy to see & vivid colors, sharp pictures, light weight, easy to operate & understand and does everything more expensive computers do. It performs well. It functions with sophistication and priced below what you think it would cost. Geek squad has been top notch and again a great value. This has been a Best Buy for me.

This laptop is good for the money ... It works - The negatives it is a little slower than my old laptop had a Dell studio 17 with Vista . The pages open a bit on the slow side. when I start typing there sometimes is a lag or delay before it shows on screen (notcall the time but sometimes). The back of the screen feels like lightweight plastic (a little flimsy). And the black on black keys and laptop itself all black makes it a bit hard to see the keys in anything but full light. The positives it is lightweight the lightest weighing laptop I have ever had. 15_ inch screen makes it easy to see. It has a 10key . internal 500 GB gives a lot of space to add photos and videos etc. The operating system is windows 10 so all the office spread sheet programs work with no issues (Chromebook won't recognize my spreadsheet- this one will). The price I paid 242 out the door the cheapest laptop I have ever gotten that accepts all my programs and has room for expansion so that's amazing. Battery life is OK so putting in positive side so overall I like it and would recommend it especially if using it as a desk laptop (mine stays put on my desk) works great I would be nervous about with how lightweight and flexible the back of the monitor is that I'd crack the case or screen if I took it all over the place (not saying it can't be done just would be cautious) it is a good system like mine

I was a little hesitant about this purchase only because of it having Windows 10, which I've found to be confusing to use. However, this is set up with Cortana right on the task bar, ready to handle questions. Also new to me is the web browser Microsoft Edge, which seems to work more reliably than Google Chrome, which I had been using. Set up was so easy! This laptop is quiet, and I like the air vents on the side - I've had no problems with it getting too hot. I love this HP and have always found their products to be reliable. I am pleased with this purchase! The laptop looks great. Setup was and easy and connecting the printer was easy. Now it does have a few cons: The touch pad, if you are trying to select something from a list it will sometimes close the list as if you clicked somewhere else, it gets terribly annoying after the fourth time. I really recommend getting a mouse, wireless or not. The battery last about 2 - 3 hours, it says so on the description but it may be a turn off for some. It runs on Windows 10, while I have not had a problem yet, the apps for windows are pretty useless, at least the ones I use. It may be perfect for those already used to a windows phone but those that use Android or Apple will have some getting used to. It's sometimes quite slow or will take more than a few seconds to open something. It's not always but when you're in a hurry it gets annoying. Pros: Sleek design, thin and weights very little. I think my tablet may weight more. Easy to use. The speakers are great! I don't need extra speaker or anything! It comes with an Office 365 month trial Very easy to connect to a Epson printer. 500gb of storage. Though in reality its around 442gb or so, maybe more. All in all, for the price it's not bad. I recommend it to those who need a lot or storage space and and love to watch movie or Netflix.

For all those reviewers who wrote that this computer is slow, please be specific because just saying slow is relative and completely subjective. There are so many variables that can make a computer slow or seem slow. Bad routers, poor internet service, viruses, anti-virus software, hardware or firmware updates, etc. Understand that this laptop has wifi in the N class which is slower than the a/c standard. That makes it 1/3 slower under that protocol. Also 4 GB of RAM is low and can affect speed. That being said, if you are looking for fast then stay out of the $200 price point for a laptop and look at netbooks or chrome books but you will be hard pressed to find the speed you seek. So what does $200 get you here? Well a 15.6 inch screen, a DVD player, 1 USB 3.0 port, HDMI out, Windows 10 (not a big plus but price out that software) and a 500 GB hard drive. So for that, it is a great deal. If you are a gamer or video streamer then you are in the wrong price point. If you are looking for something to get you online, check mail and browse then this works fine. If you want to make it "faster" you can buy more RAM and get an add-on wifi adapter. But be prepared to spend an extra $50-100. So let's have some perspective.

I’ve had this laptop for over 7yrs and it’s the best to use for work and school.

This is definitely for a more general use pc user. Out of the box it does need some optimization and windows updates to function decently. In my case I use avg, avast or web root security which ever I have atm so you want to uninstall the 3 resource destroying programs in the bloatware installations. out side of that just basic things like adjusting settings just about everyone can speed up your experience and make things a bit more user friendly. Mind that the hardware in this laptop is not high end so don't expect to be playing new title games. It can play a good selection of simulation and indie games just fine. Also the start up is rather limited even with turning off useless start up program's it is going to take a good minute due to the severely limiting 5400rpm hard. I actually find it to prolly be the one thing that slows this laptop down significantly if you have the ability or a buck to pay someone to install a ssd you will see a good performance increase and you can install a second stick of ram while your in there to! Lastly battery life is largely related to your optimization choices and pc usage. I have gotten as little as 90 minutes to as much as about 4 hours depending on settings. Anyways I use this mostly for web browsing, some sims 4, and using art programs with a Wacom Intuos pro.

It's really easy to access and not heavy which is a plus since I'm a college student that has to be carrying it around and it does have a big screen.

Its the only laptop in its price range to have a quad core and not a dinky Pentium processor. I highly recommend getting a solid state drive and having the Geek Squad install it for you. It makes a decently slow computer fast! In case you are curious there is 1 4gb stick of ram and there is another slot available. So for another $100 (60 for a 240gb ssd and 40 for another 4 gb of ram) you can make this a very quick computer! Getting the laptop apart is a pain in the butt though. I'm rating 4 stars because the regular hard drive makes the computer crawl.

Needed an inexpensive machine with speed and lots of storage. Very good for the price, looks nice, is fast and not heavy Decent and affordable laptop with some room to upgrade. I added some additional memory to help speed it up some

I bought this laptop during Black Friday for 170 USD, So far I am very happy with my purchase. As long as you know what you are buying, you should be very happy with this laptop. In order for it to run smooth, you will have to let it download huge windows 10 update and other patch, before you start to see speed increase. I suggest you let it run with power on for few days change power option setting never go sleep to download all the updates and install it. For extra power user. It comes with 4GB of DDR3L memory, you can add another 4G for 25 USD and 240GB SSD for 75 USD, and it will be mcuh much faster. 100 USD upgrade will make performance go up 200%. at least that's how i feel ;) over all, I am very happy with this purchase.

I needed a laptop for travel: something light, relatively fast, with sufficient memory and a sharp screen, but definitely not with a touch screen. This model met all my requirements at a very reasonable price (less than $250).

For the price cannot beat it. 4GBs of RAM back in the day was a lot. The windows 10 OS eats half of it, but you can max out RAM since it is relative cheap now. Sometime user interaction hangs up from switching program to program, but that may be RAM. I hope it is not slow disk read/write. Can't beat the price. Economical, light, laptop for casual surfing. Do not expect to get big time gaming out of this machine. Works as advertised.

For under $300, I’m perfectly content. It looks nice, runs as nice as Windows 10 can run, and I haven’t had any problems. The screen is pretty glossy so movies don’t look that good, it’s pretty slow in general, but I can deal with all that. The one thing that I don’t like is the battery life. Enough for one movie and you’re done. Sometimes not, if it’s a long movie or you take breaks. Also, even when you are at 85%, the battery looks like it’s half depleted. That’s probably windows, but it still doesn’t feel good. For under $300 though, I can live with all that. Not bad at all.

This is a basic computer that does what I need. I bought for the purpose of job hunting and surfing the web. It is not super fast, not for gamers but fast enough to stream videos and web surfing. I made a few tweaks to settings to my liking and I may upgrade the memory. For the price I feel this a good computer. It is more useful than and a similar price for any comparable chrome book

This product works great, considering the cost. This was the lowest cost laptop that I could find, and it is still working as intended.

At times, I wonder if it is my internet or computer....but tends to run slow. Starts up SLOW, google chrome is always freezing...I have to reboot to try to get it to even get to the opening page to sign in to my locked computer. I have done everything to clean up the system and still locks up. Otherwise, the size and physically handling is nice and storage capability is good. I like this laptop except that it runs slow.

My husband is terribly hard on laptops. He drops them, spills things on them and generally is rough in handling them. He had an HP laptop for 6 years whose battery had completely died, but he just used it plugged into the wall for another year. So I knew his next laptop had to be another HP! This one fit the bill perfectly. Sturdy, yet light-weight, great speed and memory too. He already spilled a drink on it and drops it next to his recliner like it's a shoe, but it works just fine. And the price was such a bargain! I highly recommend this product.

Very good price, easy to use, very light weight, runs great

I bought this computer for myself, I am going to school for nursing and it is very light weight and fast it meets all the needs I have for school and also for some personal use. It was very easy to set up not a lot of preloaded clutter. I love the new windows, my old computer was running on windows 7 so a major upgrade that I love!

Bought as a gift for each of my teenagers to use for school. Easy out of the box set up. Windows 10 OS is extremely user friendly. Plenty of storage for documents, pictures, and videos. Lightweight, slim design makes portability a breeze. Battery seems to last forever between charges. Definitely a great buy for the money. Also bought Microsoft Office and 2 year Geek Squad Protection Plan. Geek Squad was offering free set up, which I took advantage of just to be sure we had everything installed properly including free Antivirus software.
