Good deal! I added 4GB of ram purchased on amazon, now it has 8GB. Everything runs fine no problems with speed. It also looks nice all black. DVD/CD player/burner is good to have as well. Cons: track pad not sensitive enough for me, I use a wireless mouse instead. Keyboard does not light up. When you first turn this on it will automatically update to windows 10, you should be plugged in with Ethernet to expedite this process which could take an hour or so. There is no way to stop it. Be prepared and let it install completely with no interruptions.

Found this advertised by far the cheapest Black Friday laptop with a hard drive for storage. The processor is fine for browsing and using MS Office. It has been fine so far. Would have liked a touch screen but the price on this was ridiculously cheap. Not an Intel processor, but a quad core AMD. Not a problem for me.

I bought this for my daughter's school work. It appears to be faster than my laptop with an A8 processor! Works very well for writing papers, web surfing, email, videos, pictures. I've not tried to do any high process graphics such as video rendering. Good value, good laptop.

My daughter is in middle school and I was looking for something that she can type her papers and do research on, yet affordable. We bought it as an open box and I asked what the problem was, why the customer returned it. The best buy associate said some people thought it worked too slow. Well for a 7th grade middle schooler it works perfect. I know in addition to doing her papers, she watches Netflix and YouTube and I've never heard her complain of lagging issues. Actually she's had the laptop about 5 months now and I asked her recently how it works and she said everything's fine.

Fast, quiet w latest tech. Yeah! Plenty of storage. Audio and video quality is excellent. Speed is good. Compact yet large enough to enjoy videos.

I never had a HP but I heard they were pretty good. I had a toshiba last and the Celeron even though duo core it was the slowest laptop Ive ever owned. this HP has quad AMD and seems pretty quick. I owned another Toshiba and it was AMD it was fast but kind of pricey and the same was true with a gateway which was also kind of pricey but it had the fastest AMD of all the laptops Ive owned. So I was just happened to see this HP in the paper for 199.99 with DVDR CD you know you have to be able to play any disc cause most manuals are on disc like my Yamaha receiver amp to my ladder tree stand. It has the quad AMD and seems pretty fast. I thought windows 10 wouldn't be my desired machine but you get used to it quickly. For the price you will never beat this HP. The key board is smooth and sleek its like a modern looking unit, It performs as good as it looks and the best buy staff was extra helpful with any issue I encountered.I felt like a rookie just a couple things that I forgot but windows 10 was no big thing you adjust to it quickly. Overalll so far through the yrs. I'm really happy I got this HP and at a economical price. It does all I need and it really is a sleek looking unit, HPs tech I called to buy restore discs or make them and they were easy to deal with and I believe they could talk you through any issue you could possibly have.

Great starter laptop. Has all the necessary specs to make it a satisfactory purchase. 4gb, 500 ram. 15' screen. Kid should like it. Does the basics. Will review again upon more use. $250 out the door. No complaining here

This is a great little laptop that does everything we need it to do, including play CDs. I comparison shopped it at several other stores but Best Buy had the lowest price. It would be nice if the screen were a bit larger, but for the price ($249), it does the job, comes with Windows 10, has a free trial for MS Office, and has plenty of room for additional software. We paired it with an Epson WI-FI printer/fax/scanner and are pleased with how it works. The missing star here is, that when I called Best Buy to see if I could go in and pick one up (I needed it quickly), I was told they were out of stock but that more would be arriving in two or three days. Then, when I arrived at the store, they said they actually had plenty in stock all along.

First it comes with a DVD player on the laptop. Second it is faster than the one that is five years old. Third it was super easy to set up.

I was looking for a good basic computer, the ad decent power and memory, for my parents to use as their old one finally broke down. It's exactly what they need since they are not to gamers or graphic designers, though I am sure I could do some of that. Great for a high school/college student or person just wanting a good solid computer just looking to get things done.

l really like my laptop. Smaller then my old one. It's light weight. Runs great. This is my second HP one. Last one lasted for years.

I recently purchased this laptop and I am pleased with it's performance so far. I was looking for an entry level laptop to do basic home business work including MS Office applications. The 4GB RAM makes a difference when using an application and having a couple browsers open at the same time (I tried a Lenovo with 2GB RAM for $30 cheaper and had to return it). This laptop is obviously slower than a standard corporate laptop - I knew this when purchasing it - so I do need to be a little patient when I have several apps going at once. I wish it had bluetooth. Battery life seems to be good. For the available functionality I think this price point was very good. Overall I think it was a good value.

I bought this laptop for school. It has done exactly what I needed in way of being able to do research and write papers and create PowerPoint etc. I’ve also watched a lot of netflix. And no dragging. I wouldn’t use it for high tech gaming purposes but for why I chose it, it exceeded my expectations.

Paid around $225 with taxes after the promotion discount. Great laptop for the price and is fast . I just use it for web surfing. Has enough hard drive space and enough memory. overall a great buy.
