I was searching for a under $200 PC with a actual hard drive. Not just flash memory like a chrome book. I found this gem, The main purpose was just to run dj software as a back-up. I find myself using it more and more for the everyday taskes of emails and web searches and uploading music from old CDs. I've owned it over a year now and have no complaints with performance. The only minor complaint is, I just discovered, it does not have Bluetooth. Minor flaw i can live with. Bottom line its a Bare bones PC has a 2-button touchpad, DVD player, sd card reader, and WiFi. It's very light weight and has windows 10.

This is a good basic computer. Keyboard and screen are good. Processor is not going to break any speed records. It soldiers through most tasks but chokes when multitasking. Memory cannot be easily upgradable. Nice DVD player and writer. Solid build. If I were to consider again, I would opt for faster processor, touchscreen and 8 gigs ram. Battery life is under 3 hours. For the price, this is a good deal.

Would be 5 stars but computer came with so much preloaded trail software that has been a pain to get rid of. Otherwise the computer works great. Battery could be bigger but for what it cost, it's fine.

We went to Best Buy intent on buying something for checking emails, paying bills, and surfing - basically a Chromebook. But we found this HP laptop could do all that AND store photos, documents, etc... It's light weight and works great. The only drawback is the short battery life. An illuminated keypad would've been nice. But it suits our needs perfectly and you can't beat the price.

this Hewlett Packard laptop is perfect for any thing I need to do and most important is the good price. for way under 300.00 dollars it does and has all I would ever need. It has dvd cd tray that is only found on more expensive laptops. It is definatley fast enough with duo core amd processors. I think its a straight up good value.

Fast processor, easy to use, love that it has cd burner

I knew when purchasing this that it would not be ideal for heavy memory usage software, such as online gaming; however, it is more than capable of simultaneously handling all the work-related functions I need without too noticeable of lag time. The RAM is obviously meager (4GB), but that hasn't prevented me from being able to run multiple spreadsheets, multiple browser windows, send/receive emails and stream music while working away from the office. Well worth the low price and highly recommended for those on a budget who need the reliability of an HP. Oh, and the speakers are surprisingly loud and clear, so that's a nice little bonus as well...

Normally I shy away from AMD processors but was pleasantly surprised at the fast boot time and smooth operation of this HP with a AMD 6 processor, plus it comes with a hard to find optical drive. Worth every penny so far.

So far this laptop has been great for what I needed. Only reason I can't give it five stars is that I haven't had it long enough to thoroughly put it through its paces. It is much faster than my previous laptop, but it's almost 10 yrs so what do I expect lol. Loads websites quickly, multiple tabs are no issue here. Probably not for extremely tech-savy geeks or hardcore gamers or multitask extraordinaires but definitely good for most everyday users.

I'm an insurance producer and needed to buy a Windows machine for the job. I've been an Apple guy for years but one of the programs I use in this position is windows based only. I really had no idea what to look for and the Best Buy person in the store didn't even mention this laptop. I went home to search through the website to do more research before making my purchase. This laptop does everything I need it to do and does it well. I don't play games with it, nor do I work with any graphics. I spend most of my time in Office or surfing/researching on the web and this computer handles all of that very well. I am running Windows 10 Pro. I have a co-worker who has since gone out and bought the exact same one for his use. It's a great value especially for $200.

I paid 225 bucks for this computer for my wife. She only need to access the web to pay bills, facebook and browse her digital pictures. For the price this is a great PC, running Win10. The PC is very light and boots quickly. The build of he plastic is a little flimsy but what do you expect for the price. Overall I am very happy with the purchase and would recommend this to someone looking for a light weight, low cost computer for their wife or kids.

Everything works perfectly. Portable computer that fulfills all my needs on the road. Storage, disk read/write and HDMI playback on the big screen. Photo manipulation and staying connected with my home satellite service gives me everything I need.

I purchased this laptop to replace my old one. It is faster & holds more than the old one. I would have kept the Lenovo but it would not work while plugged in & the battery is almost shot, so I upgraded.

Was having so much trouble cleaning off pics and data from my IPhone 6 for over a year. I was so sick of the cloud lag and just wanted to import data straight to my drive. Out of frustration I purchased an Apple laptop top and ended up with buyers remorse! Returned it and picked up two of these great little HP laptops with a DVD drive and windows 10 all set to go (for my dedicated work pc and my 10k plus photos). Imported all photos and other data with no problem! I can use my virtual work programs beautifully! Best $229 x 2 I've spent in years! Other laptop was for a friend mostly for video games and personal use. No complaints from either! Will be picking up another for guest use. Thanks Best Buy and HP!

This laptop is great for the price. I use it for work and it is a little too slow for me...but It would be great for a student or just browsing internet and streaming, etc.

I have two of these, one for work and one my personal accounts. These are not overly expensive but are dependable, easy to use and have all the features I need. This one was purchased as an impulse buy and it's great for skype calls, which help me keep in touch with my family while I am out on the road.

I only used it for general web surfing, itunes and streaming and it was great for the price. You may need to add RAM and some upgrades but you can't find a better deal.

This was my first PC laptop purchase in over 8 years, and I must say that I'm impressed. I bought it on sale for $230 and it is defiantly a good value. It is fast enough, sturdy enough, and a good computer for the price. Pro: boots up quickly from sleep mode. Con: cheap feeling touch pad. So buy an inexpensive wireless mouse and problem solved! Conclusion: if you want a cheap, but good value laptop, buy it.

Exactlty what I needed good processor and pretty light for the screen size. Plenty of memory for every day internet browsing and email, not a gaming computer but perfect for my mother's needs
