This computer is used mainly for document preparation and/or review, web surfing and email. It is a perfect match for those activities and the price made it a great deal.

This was a replacement for a google chrome , this HP beats it hands down.

The computer was bought on 12/16 for a Christmas present, opened it and downloaded office and a lot of other files which took a couple of days. Everything seemed to work good but then went to play a DVD only to find out that the optical drive did not work! Took it back to Best Buy on 12/28 and they said they could send it away to be fixed & it would take 4-6 weeks! Or they could replace it but they didn't have any. Neither option was acceptable because the first one had them keeping my computer with all my passwords on it for a long period of time and I would not have one to use and the second option was to get one a few days later but all my files and purchased items were on the first one. I don't see why they just could not have ordered the part and replaced the drive when it came in, it only takes a minute to replace that part and aren't the geek squad supposed to fix computers? So I am left with a brand new computer with a non working drive that I guess I will have to fix myself. Make sure you check out all parts before you purchase and download anything!

Nice laptop for a 1st, 2nd year college student...does exactly what I need!

Great laptop, if you don't require a lot of memory or high speed needed for gaming. However, additional memory can be easily added. I needed a new laptop to run TurboTax.
