This product is a great value. I purchased it after initially buying a more compact HP product, which did not have a CD drive. Other than the software, I am happy with the laptop. The windows software leaves a lot to be desired. I like the touchscreen as well.

I think this is a great value, it seems super speedy. I haven't loaded anything on it yet but I haven't been disappointed in anything I have tried to do with it. I think the case is a bit cheap looking and the screen/display colors seem a bit washed out, but it may just be the colors everyone is choosing these days on their websites and in Windows 10. But its a touch screen as well so maybe that effects the way it looks. I thought the keyboard would be hard to adjust to since it's keys are like chicklets, but it actually is very easy to adjust to and type on. Again, I think its a great value and I am looking forward to using it more. I bundled my purchase with an HP printer and again its a great value.

My son had a netbook that was past its prime, so we went to Best Buy to look at laptop options. This laptop is reasonably priced for what you get, and it does exactly what we need it to do in order to get him through high school. So long as he takes care of it, it should last the 4 years before he graduates. The young lady who helped us determine the best options for our son was extremely helpful, and the Geek Squad did a great job of setting up the laptop. No complaints from us.

The touch is really good and works great. The only caveat is the battery which may last only 2.5 -3 hours at the most.

The price of the item is surprising when compared in terms of power. Most systems of these specs are normally of a higher price, so it is very good for the anyone who needs a decent PC and does not have a large amount of money to spend. My only complaint is that the RAM is six GB split into a two and four gig stick, requiring to purchase a four gig stick separate to reach 8 gigs.

For the price of this laptop, it was a steal. It has good graphics, tons of space, not super fast but the best that I have had and I love the touch screen feature. This laptop is going to last forever for an author/photographer. Couldn't be any happier !

I was looking for a laptop with more than 4GB memory, good storage, and a good processor. My old MacBook pro only had 4GB. I was hoping for 8 and found this one with 6--it was a good price, so I went with it. Not bad, though I don't notice much improvement with the speed compared to my old computer. I have mainly just used the internet, however. Overall, good laptop for the price.

I use this primarily for school. It is fast, responsive and intuitive. I would recommend. Good value for the price

First laptop I bought acted up so returned it to Best Buy for the same model and works well. I was skeptical as only paid $299 for the laptop but the BB associate assured me it was a good value for the money and is. AMD A10 and 1TB of storage are good numbers at this price range. Screen looks nice. Would recommend for anyone looking for a nice everyday fairly basic laptop.

I specifically wanted a computer with a disk drive but I got so much more... touchscreen and great storage!

I bought this because it was affordable, but it turns out to be a very nice computer. I put in Windows Office (almost as expensive as the machine itself) and downloaded ClassicShell so the screen and user interface is to my liking and it works well and fast. Windows 10 is actually nice, in spite of some negative comments I've read which seem to be unfounded.

Bought for my college bound son. Lightweight for backpack and screen is large enough for online courses

This is my 2nd laptop but first HP. It's very lightweight and the start up is so much faster than my other laptops. I love the touch screen since am use to my iPad . Getting use to Windows 10 has been a challenge though it is user friendly.

I know this is a budget laptop but I cant help be harsh. For me, it was slow to set up. It is slow to start up when turned off. Please note the only software I downloaded was chrome, firefox, hp solution center and windows netflix app. Dont get me started on the battery life. Like rogerse63 said, you only get 2 hours of battery life, maybe. I had the battery on HP recommended and screen brightness to 30% and it didnt even last 2 hours. I let the laptop charge overnight. I turned on the laptop, put the screen brightness to 0% and put the power saving mode on. I didnt start any programs, just had wifi on. My battery went down 5% in 2 minutes from doing nothing. The battery time was fluctuating between 2 hours and 2 hours 20 minutes. I returned the laptop. These are the reasons for the knocking off 3 stars. The 2 stars are for the design and the touch screen. The design of the laptop is plain cool. The laptop body isnt smooth so you have a better grip on the laptop. The touch screen was very responsive.

store manager after all the problems I had with my old hp notebook gave me open box hp notebook replacement at a greatly reduced price. my old hp notebook after at windows 10 update in april of this year had major problems and although with many hours on line with the geek squad and at best buy just was not working correctly. very nice of best buy to make things right and made it possible for me to afford another computer. thanks best buy
