Perfect besides it gets really hot

I brought this laptop because all the laptops I wanted sold out and were not online (I didn't feel like waiting). Soo the specs are super awesome and the price is mostly worth it. It's not the prettiest laptop but it's still great. The only problem I have is that it gets hot so fast. I downloaded TechPowerup to see how hot it was...140-150 degrees farenheight! It has not overheated yet but still its so hot, and the fan is loud.

    A nice inexpensive laptop

I've only had it for a few days, but I'm impressed with how well it's working. It was so inexpensive, I anticipated problems. I'd give it 5 stars, but it does feel a little 'cheap,' even though it works great.

    Nice Laptop

Very nice Laptop. It had all the features I wanted at a very nice price. Laptops from other makers did not have the features I needed and the prices were the same or more than the Laptop I bought. The would have required me to speed even more money to get the Laptop to where I needed it to be. Go with this computer, you won't go wrong. Fast CPU, a Radeon Graphics card, 6 GB of RAM, Bluray DVD Player with both read and writing. Microsoft 10, IE Edge, your choice of Internet protection, 1 TB Hard Drive and many more features.

I bought this laptop for college courses. It's easy to use, I don't use the touch screen at all so that is a feature I could have done without. The battery doesn't last as long as I would like but for the price it gets the job done.

I read many reviews and thought I selected the best choice available but evidently I was wrong. There are several downsides to this computer, and they are fairly big ones. The battery life is less than two hours (to be far, I had it on full brightness); the processor is slow as molasses; and the touch screen spazzes out sometimes. All of these things I find unacceptable because they impede my productivity. Additionally, the trackpad does not work consistently with the multitouch. The touch screen is cool, I like it. I don't even mind Windows 10. I guess I should have done more research :(

    HP Laptop

Needed a new laptop as Toshiba Lasptop hard drive was about to die! Found good price on HP at Best Buy! Wanted a CD/DVD drive as have many CDs with software I need installed. These days that hardware is hard to find but thanks Best Buy and HP for having that still available! When I got the HP home, the USB ports worked intermittently! I was not happy at all! Took the HP back to the Geek Squad only 10 days after purchasing it! Tech told me they would fix & got Laptop back within 2 days. Had the Tech test the USB ports and still did not work!! So left PC for another 2 days and they deleted antivirus software that was making the PC think something was still plugged in when it wasn't! Tech said this was a known issue! So, now I am happy with the new HP Laptop!

    Great Touchscreen For The Price

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Considering the fast pace that technology changes, I didn't want to spend $1.000.00 or more for a laptop. I did extensive research and could not find another laptop made by and manufacturer that had as much versatility and functionality as this one. The closest laptops that offered a 15" touchscreen and 1TB hard disk were over $500.00. Don't expect lightning speed but if you're a patient person, this is quick enough. The screen is very sharp and colors are vivid. Setting up a home network or wireless printer is easy to perform. The first one I purchased I thought was defective because the two 2.0 USB ports wouldn't work. I got this one and the same problem. I called HP and they got the ports to work but when I rebooted, they would not function. I knew that getting two laptops with the same problem was improbable, so I went into the USB properties and found that HP has them set to shut down to save power. Even the HP support people didn't know this or they would have turned them on since they don't use that much power anyway. For the price, you're not going to find a laptop with a large screen and over 750GB of disk space. I am very happy with this laptop, but gave it less than five stars due to the fact that all phone and on-line chat is from India and communication in English is difficult. I understand that many other brands have outsourced their support to India so I suppose you can't escape that.

    Terrible Battery

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought this computer 4 days ago. I really like using it. It's vivid screen is great. It has good features. It runs quite fast. The price was very good. All of those areas was wonderful. BUT, as soon as it's took off charge the battery drops dramatically. In the description of this computer it says the battery life is 5.5 hrs. When I first take mine off charge at 100% It says I have 1hr and 23min left. I timed it today and it lasted 1 hr and 5 min. I didn't download or upload or watch videos or anything like that. I just read news stories or let it sit. If this battery only lasts one hr while brand new, what will it be like after 2-3 months of use? I checked online to see what another battery for it would cost. I can't find one for this model for sale so a replacement battery is out of the question. I like this computer but I have to take it back because of the weak battery.

    Great Laptop for the Price

This laptop is a great buy at it’s price. You get a nice 15.6” screen. 1TB of HDD space, and 6GB of memory. The AMD A10-9600P quad-core APU runs at a speedy 2.4ghz. It also comes with AMD Radeon R5 graphics. One can surf the internet, stream some movies, and play some games on this laptop. This portable computer would be a good fit for most people who don’t need to do anything strenuous with their computers. I was surprised to see a touch screen laptop at this price point. I thought the touch screen was going to be gimmicky, but I actually found it easier than have to find the cursor with the trackpad and then navigate to what I wanted to click. All I had to do was touch. I can see how Windows 10 is more beneficial with a touch screen. That being said, if you prefer to use the trackpad, it works well also. It responds to multi touch gestures. This also has 3 USB ports (2x 2.0 and 1x 3.0) as well as an HDMI, ethernet, and SD card reader. There’s lots of room for accessories. This also has a CD/DVD burner for those that still need to use or make physical media. The camera is just ok in a pinch, but most people would probably have a better camera on their smart phone. This is a great sized computer to carry around. I get pretty good battery during my travels as a airline crew member. Luckily this laptop is pretty light for its screen size. It’s also pretty thin, measuring under an inch at the thickest point. Personally, I think the battery life could be a little better, but your mileage may vary. Overall this is a great laptop computer for general use. The screen size is great and made even better with the touch screen. It has a speedy processor and good mobile graphics. Battery life could be a little better. I would suggest staying plugged in for extended use.

So-so laptop with a good motherboard shoved in.

I bought this laptop around August 1st (few weeks ago) thinking it's a great laptop due to the amazing specs. Sadly I only came to find out that the screen was scratched when I got it. The battery is ridiculously short when the website advertised it for 5.5 hours. I only got two hours out of it and it drained so fast. I had to scramble for the power adapter everytime. I had to return the laptop in favor of a HP tower!. I was immensely disappointed by this laptop... They obviously cut corners when designing this laptop. I later found out by reading these reviews that the battery issue is commonplace with this laptop. These bad batches of units that was sold shouldn't have gotten out of the factory I stress, it is a great laptop only if you know what you're getting yourself into. I'm much happier with my desktop tower.

This seems to be a decent laptop in the $300 price range. I am not a super user so I didn't need a $800+ laptop. I have only had it one day. So far the only thing I don't like is that the NUM LOCK key has no light to indicate whether it is on or not. Not a big deal, but seems strange. It is not that fast, but then again, its only a $350 laptop at best. It will serve my needs. Oh, and the battery does not seem to last very long at all.

Decent affordable school laptop. Owned it for less than a month and fairly satisfied with it. No major issues. Would recommend for school for basic computer useage. Would not recommend for 3d gaming with high video quality. Great for M.S. Office, general web browsing, photo/video storage. Decent keyboard that is of standard size that doesn't require you to tap extra buttons to get regular functions.

Grab it on clearance while its still here. Out of the box, little bloatware (added software from HP). I advise you remove McAfee right away! Speed is on par with price, but under a 70 bucks you can buy a 240GB SSD drive and for around $100 buy the 16GB of RAM to max it out, would bring the total investment under $500 bucks and make this laptop really really shine. Laptop is a little heavier and thicker than a lot of laptops today, but has a DVD-RW drive built in. 3 USB ports but only 1 is 3.0. Not a gaming laptop but was able to install and play some 3D games with good results.

The graphics card in the AMD version supports online gaming a lot better than the Intel version. Did not come with Bluetooth but that was corrected with an Insignia Bluetooth Adaptor. The only con I have is it does not have a Backlit Keyboard. But the money I spent for it was well worth that one inconvenience.
