I purchased this piece of___ on 10/13/16. I left the computer at the store so that data could be transfered from an old unit. I picked the unit up on 10/18 and everything worked properly until 10/31/16. The unit would not power on, I charged it for about an hour before going to BestBuy to return it. Once I arrived the tech attempted to power it on and failed, he removed the battery, reinserted the battery, plugged in the power cable and it slowly booted up. I wanted to return the laptop but was told that because I exceeded the 15 day return policy that it wasn't an option. AND.... because it powered on EVENTUALLY that it's not considered defective. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE FROM BEST BUY AGAIN AS LONG AS I LIVE!!!

So far I've had the laptop for a few weeks and it has been serving me well. I use it for both work and personal use. I had to upgrade Windows 10 to Pro to be able to use it at work and so far have had no issues. I primarily use the computer for basic office/web/email and lite IT work.

Nothing fancy here, just a solid, simple laptop. Decent weight, decent screen, decent speed for a low price. I use it for basic work tasks and and online.

Bought this HP Notebook about 3 months ago but have used it for only about 2 months of that time due to time away from home. Overall, it was a pretty good inexpensive laptop. However, about a month ago it began to crash on occasion. It does reboot itself when it happens. That now is nearly a daily occurrence. You can imagine what a royal pain that is to deal with! Have checked everything I can. Virus protection has been active all along, I am using minimal storage on the device and it is nearly all Word or Excel docs. My favorite part of this experience is that the local Best Buy told me to take a hike because I hadn't paid for the extra coverage. Now there's some great customer service! They told me to contact HP to have my laptop shipped off for evaluation, but they expected that would take at least 3 months. No offer to look at the notebook or replace it. So, what that really means, is that Best Buy is telling me to eat $350 for a computer that only worked for about 2 months. I have not seen this problem listed elsewhere in reviews, so maybe my laptop is faulty, but please be aware that Best Buy will do NOTHING to help you if you don't shell out the additional funds for Geek Squad coverage. A sad state of things, I think, especially from someone who used to buy all his electronics from them.

Its a budget laptop so I don't want to be too harsh. Had mine for two days and it froze up already. I cant really afford a better one right now. I am really thinking about returning but don't know what to do. The biggest con is the battery life. You get about 2 hours and even though it a cheap laptop, man that sucks. Remember your get what you pay for. I have a 6 year old MacBook pro that still gets about 4-5 hours on a charge easy.

I have had this laptop for 12 days now. When it runs, it's great. But trying to download any Windows update brings it to a screeching halt! After researching this online I see that it is a known problem. I will be returning this today for something else.

i bought this touch screen computer for myself and my daughter to assist her with her homework and realise it was working so nice i had to get another one for her personally which i did and she adores it. it also keeps her off of mine. I love my new computer

Great laptop. Took some getting used to new windows and office suite. Only wish is that it had a touchscreen.

Good laptop, name brand. For someone using a computer for the basics, this one would work fine for you.

Purchased a HP Laptop 2 weeks back and had to return item. Had to reboot device after startup each time i needed to use it. Big annoyance for me. Windows application freezes continuously and battery life only last if battery saver option is set to 50% or higher which makes viewing poor.

I am an IT architect so enterprise level server IT iwork s what I do for a living. I was hoping to purchase a new touch screen laptop at a reasonable price when I saw this one on sale. While the screen resolution and quality are nice, the AMD processor does not have the processing capability and the 4gb of RAM memory is not adequate to run a demanding OS like Windows 10. Windows 10 alone consumes a minimum of 2.5gb of RAM memory for background processes. The laptop manufacturers are aware of this but they are hoping that you don't know or are willing to accept a poorly functioning device. Running Chrome or MS Edge with any other app will consume the onboard 4gb RAM memory. Videos run slow or jerky and apps are slow to open. I recommend that you do not buy a laptop without a minimum of 8gb of RAM and an Intel i5 processor. I returned this laptop two weeks after purchasing it. Good luck.

Please do not purchase this laptop even as a student. I was told to but it because it's very reliable and have the features suitable for a student. On the papers the battery is suppose to last up to 5hours, but I only get an hour or 2 the most

If you're in the market for a well rounded laptop that wont break the bank, this is it. I've been using it for all the basics, but also some gaming, and handles it just fine. Give it a shot

Awesome laptop for surfing the web and watching YouTube and Netflix.

Bought it for my daughter in high school. It gets the job done.
