    Good Laptop for the Price

I purchased this laptop online from BestBuy August 1st. I have had no issues in the two months I have owned it. I like the way HP set it up without a lot of bloatware. The hardware specs are good for the price and that is why I give it 4 stars. The 4K screen is great, the computer is fast, the 256GB SSD is plenty for running the OS (132GB free on mine) and the system boots up in seconds. The speakers aren't the best but not bad either, I mostly use earbuds or a headset. I don't like where the plug is for the headset, up near the screen instead of back near the mousepad, wastes a couple feet of cord. The keypad is a little loud when typing. I would give it 5 stars except for the build quality. The build quality is not as good as I would want, but I assume HP is aiming for a price point (like only putting in 12GB memory when they easily could have installed 16GB). The screen is a little flexable when open but when closed the laptop is solid and I take it between home and work weekly. I plan to keep the computer for three years and don't foresee any issues. There are a lot of more expensive laptops out there, I feel like I got my money's worth with this Omen.

    Great Laptop

My Last laptop was purchased 7 years ago and I needed to get a new one. I have never had issues with HP laptops so I decided to stay with them and so far I am not disappointed. The 4k screen is gorgeous and I have not seen my games look so good before. I am running WoW on the highest settings and it looks like a new game to me. So if you play WoW and never had ultra settings upgrading will look great for you. I have gotten No Man's Sky and have only had a 1-2 second lag a couple of times in about 10 hours of gameplay which is believed to be on the games part with some of the issues. I have minor issues with office 2003 but that is on windows 10 for being an issue. I have a lot of pictures in my Word documents and it will load slow. So if you are like me on that then you need to upgrade to a newer office version. My only real complaint is a opinionated preference issue so I didn't have it affect my score. I wish the keyboard lit up as it is hard to see the buttons in the dark and I don't care for the overall feel of the buttons but I also realize that is how the keyboards are these days. I would tell people to get this as an upgrade since I am loving it so much. Also make sure to get a cooling pad to ensure your laptop lasts longer.

I reviewed numerous 17.3 screen laptops and this one won hands down. I'm really glad I made this purchase.

I was looking for a desktop replacement, and this laptop more than suits my needs with its big and pleasing screen. It is a very capable machine without any noticeable flaws that I could notice. It handles gaming, my work (I am a realtor), everyday basic tasks. I have recently returned an OMEN 17 with a lower resolution screen (FHD). It basically is the same machine with a FHD screen. I liked everything about it minus the screen . At the end of the day it is the UHD screen makes all the difference in the world for me as I read a lot of documents on my computer. If I knew what I know now, I would've selected this model in the first place. I eventually got back on track and I am glad I made this purchase.

Laptop purchased by a friend as I was overseas on August 23rd. 2016... The laptop worked fine until January 6th when it completely would not even power up. I called HP Support, after an hour on the phone (tech support is in INDIA and understanding them or they understanding me took each of us repeating everything 4times) they said it's a "hardware" problem and as it's still under warranty they will replace it. I was very upset as I had VERY important data on the laptop by this point. I asked where I could take it in Israel (the country I was living in) they said.. no.. you have to bring the laptop to the states as that's the country it was purchased in... as I needed this laptop and had a trip planned to chicago the following week, I said to myself I will just fix it in the states. I had a 4 hour stopover in Istanbul Turkey on my way to chicago... where they went through my bags.. and asked me to "turn on" all electronic devices to make sure they were "functional"... I informed them my laptop was not.. and I was taken it in to be serviced.. they said.. "we are sorry but you cannot bring the laptop with you"- they had to confiscate it. I was almost put on the NO-FLY LiST as I could not believe what was happening and was VERY upset. upon arriving to chicago I called HP they said they could not help me, I called Best buy they said the same thing... so as BestBuy says.. they will not be beat on price... they will obviously be beat on quality- a 3 month old laptop that is confiscated and there is nothing anyone wants to do about it

I have had this computer for 3 days now, and it hasn't successfully installed a single game or program. But hey, it works great to view web pages.
