This is my first Chromebook and it is even better than I expected. The speed and graphics are very good. My main use is a sheet music reader using Mobilesheets Pro. The 3:2 screen aspect ratio is very good for this purpose. The detachable screen is a big plus. The included stylus makes annotations very easy.

It’s the perfect speed for both online searching and typing up papers. Also have had to download certain applications for school and didn’t have a problem with them. I have not had a problem since the day I got my computer. I mostly use it as a computer but has capability to be separated from keyboard to use as a tablet.

I bought this laptop in hopes of it helping out with a lot of school work or just work in general. I love the feature of detaching the keyboard so that it’s just a tablet. It’s very versatile and I highly recommend this. College student or not! It’s worth the money. Another plus: Battery life is GREAT!

Great chromebook, this might have the best hinge on a 2 in 1 laptop that I’ve ever used as most others are flimsy. You can actually use this in your lap without it falling backward. Overall this has great battery life, screen quality and stylus performance.

Best Chromebook I've Had My Hands On

I've been through many Chromebooks, and this is the best by far. Performance is excellent. Keyboard is detachable allowing you to use it as a chrome tablet with either touch screen or pen. Keyboard is smooth and responsive. The price is a bit on the high side, but if you want the best, this is it!

I've been using this for a year now. This is a fast laptop. It is great for surfing the internet, watching Netflix, checking email, etc. Works great as a tablet also. The one big problem is apps are limited. Very few games work from the app stote.

This is a great Chromebook, has access to Linux and Android apps too. The keyboard is responsive and the screen is bright. Good battery life. Only issues are it's a bit heavy, no backlit keyboard, and low hard drive space if you need to use the Android and Linux apps.

Replaced a broken Nexus. I patiently waited hoping to get the 8 GB memory, but once Best Buy had this available my patience dwindled to nothing and I ordered the 4 GB. I'm very happy with my purchase - how the operating system works and how the tablet and keyboard look.

First convertible Chromebook - and it rocks!

This is my second HP Chromebook purchase. I had the HP Chromebook 14 which I loved, but my better half wanted a convertible as we saw the new tablets showing up. She likes the tablet feature for playing Android puzzle & escape games and casual web browsing. The build quality is quite good, I am really happy with the "everything you need" bundle here. You get the keyboard (backlit would have been nice....) as well as the stylus in the box. The actual keyboard and trackpad both feel and work great, I don't notice a big difference from my Macbook Air keyboard/trackpad. Chrome OS runs buttery smooth on this hardware, as good as you could hope. The screen and stereo speakers are top notch, really great job on the audio. If you are willing to drop $650 on a Chromebook, you won't be disappointed with the HP X2.

Excellent 2 in 1. Far better than every arm chromebook out there. Good build quality, good screen brightness, decent keyboard. Excellent as a media consumption tablet, but a tad bit heavy.

    This is a GREAT Chromebook!

Let me start by saying I am a long time Windows user - for home and business. My current work daily driver is a Microsoft Surface Pro 4, but I also regularly use other laptops by Dell and HP. While I like the form factor of the Surface Pro 4, I'm not a huge fan of the price. This got me looking for a home alternative. I'm happy to say I found it in the HP X2 Chromebook. The build is great, display very good, and its' two in one ability to convert from a laptop to a tablet is the icing on the cake. The X2 runs the Chrome OS, and I was interested to see what compromises I would need to make. Happily, the answer is not many. Because of the improved Google/Android App Store and the ability to run applications in the cloud means I can do all the things I want with this computer in a secure environment. Battery life is great, included HP stylus works great, and I have no regrets. The only downside (so far) is the inability to run certain games natively. There are some workarounds to this, and I'm very interested in Google's new streaming platform, Stadia, so time will tell about gaming, but I didn't purchase the X2 to be a gaming rig. I highly recommend this Chromebook. Pros: Chrome OS - Solid, Secure, and Fast Solid Battery life - Great for business and personal use Keyboard - Keys are well positioned and have good feel and travel. While the keyboard does not have a 360-degree hinge, you can flip the tablet around to get the same effect. This also has the advantage of having the keys protected when in full connected tablet mode, unlike 360-degree hinges which leave the keyboard exposed when flipped around. Stylus - Works great, feels good in the hand. Useful for hand-written notes or casual sketching. Display - 11.2" display is bright and vivid Price/Value - I got mine on sale for $499 at Best Buy (current price is $599). Compare this to Surface Pro 6 at $899. Add in keyboard cover ($95) and stylus ($70) and you are looking at over $1,000 for similar hardware. Cons Lack of game support - While you can find plenty of games on the Play Store, many others (such as WOW, FortNite, etc.) are not currently available. The hardware should handle these games (at low settings), and there are probably hacks to get them to work. Pen holder - the keyboard has a cloth loop to hold the pen. Mine separated (now just a cloth flap) after a few weeks of use. I'm not sure how it happened and the pen wasn't in the holder at the time. Keyboard not backlit - Some early reports of the X2 said it would have a backlit keyboard, but sadly it does not. I consider this a nice to have feature and not a deal breaker Weight - The overall weight of the tablet and keyboard is around 3 lbs, with 2 lbs being the keyboard. This weight is necessary to counterbalance the hinging mechanism that holds the tablet.

A Great Chromebook at a Great Price

This is an overall great Chromebook. It has a slim profile and is lightweight but still feels very solidly built and is well balanced in laptop mode. The screen is excellent and is better than other Chromebooks in the same price range. The 2 in 1 format and the added stylus are great additions that add to the value of this item, especially if you are specifically looking for these features. Obviously, to get to a reasonable price point like this Chromebook does, there has to be some trade off, and that is in the storage space. However, Chrome OS takes up very little storage that there is still ample room for many apps without reaching full capacity. Additionally, the storage is expandable with a micro sd card for downloaded movies and music.

Love the Chromebook if you know the limitations. Running Linux on it with no issues at all. WIsh it had more built in memory is the only complaint I have about it. Battery life is decent, performance is great.

It's the perfect price, combination of a Core m3 (over a Celeron chip), it's powerful enough to run Linux and Android apps alongside Chrome, battery life is decent, it's the best ChromeOS device I've used.

Happy w the purchase. Just wish it came with 64 gig of memory instead of the 32. Can add a micro SD card but not the same as native memory. Great screen and very nice keyboard and track pad.

I'm not a power user but this Chromebook is exactly what I wanted: powerful enough to do all of the Google Drive work I need and the ability to game on a tablet-sized screen. The magnetic connection between the tablet and keyboard is a nice touch. It takes some adjustment to use (the screen is heavier than its base which is why the tilt angle is controlled) but it's great to use as a laptop, pulled apart just as a tablet, or switched around in presentation mode. I actually use all three modes frequently. The only thing I did not know I would miss was the limitations of some Android apps (Adobe), but that is not unique to this Chromebook but rather a feature of the OS.

A good machine for more limited needs. I purchased this in error, and returned it after finding out the screen was smaller than want I wanted. The hard drive and memory are smaller than what I wanted. The keyboard does not light up, like I wanted. So I returned it for the larger HP model, and I Iove that one. This model is good if you need something smaller, more portable, and are not concerned about storage. Also you your primary use will be for consuming internet content (watching videos, reading whatever), social media, and handling emails, then this will work find for your needs.
