My new HP printer uses 1 cartridge for black and 1 for the colors. The colors reproduce very well. Purchasing the XL is more economical and the cartridges do not need to be changed so often.

Turns out that the day I tried to use it is just 3 days past the returnable date. However, I would have expected that an item brand new out of the box, given the cost of ink these days, would work regardless of when it's popped it into the printer. So much for buying early! Doesn't pay off in the long run.

Unfortunately, a lot of vendors have time-sensitive return policies. I apologize for the disruption and the customer service experience.
This situation is not uncommon, especially for consumers who buy in bulk. In the future, test the product out immediately. I recommend doing a trial print of a page with every new cartridge once you receive them. The cartridge can be exchanged, returned, or discussed with our support team.
