NOT RATING HIS ITEM. I ONLY RECEIVED 2 OF THE 3 INKS CARRIDGS I ORER
Hi Sonia, thank you for your feedback, sorry to hear you are unhappy with the Page yield of your HP 63 XL High Yield Black Ink Cartridge. Historically printer manufacturers used their own methods for estimating page yield. However, this made it difficult to compare different products. Nowadays, the published page yield is based on the Industry Standard for measuring yields (refer to International Standards Organization ISO 24711). The actual yield varies considerably based on the content of the printed pages, the frequency of printing, the ink used in set-up etc. You may find that you will get more pages when printing in Fast draft mode. XL size cartridges offer up to 50% lower cost per page compared with standard size cartridges. Our recommendation would be that you leave your printer powered on in normal usage conditions, only power it down if you will not use it for an extended period of time (i.e.: longer than one month). Even though the product states, ‘high yield,’ it seems like it yields more ink per print, rather than more ink in the cartridge. It lasted less than half the amount of time as the regular black ink cartridge, for the same print jobs.
I'm sorry that your cartridge didn't last that long. I can understand if you are disappointed. Most people consider the XL version of the cartridge to be a better value.
Unless the cartridge was damaged or defective, the ink usage would determine how long it lasts. If you were printing mostly high density printouts, that could have affected its longevity.
Here are a couple facts about ink usage that might help: - A high-density print (with images or graphs) will use ink more quickly than a text-only document. - Using the draft and black only settings on your printer can result in some savings - Shutting the printer down between uses can also help; however, always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That lets it ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying. - Instant Ink might be worth trying. The subscription plans are based on how many pages you print. You can check out the details at: HPinstantink.com
If you feel that the poor page yield was caused by a defective cartridge, you have the option to request a replacement or refund.

Very pleased with the quality, the yield, and value. Have purchased this before, and I will continue to do so.

This is just what I wanted, lasts much longer than the standard ink cartridge. I will certainly order this again and will order it from Best Buy since they have a great price and no charge for shipping.

I have two HP printers and always get good quality and long life out of HP cartridges. I do use the XL on black cartridges -- and it gives a really good yield.
