      Hi there.

I'm sorry to hear that your printer is yielding prints so slowly and that your printer is using ink more rapidly than you’d anticipated. It’s easy to understand why that would be a frustrating combination, so I’ll point you toward some resources I hope will help.

First, I recommend that you follow a guide on our support site that covers improving print speed; choose whichever of the following two links matches your operating system:
      - Windows: support.hp.com/us-en/document/bud03409
      - Mac OS: support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01928898

Here are some facts on ink use that might help you get more prints without too much extra effort:
      - A high-density print (such as an image or graph) uses ink more quickly than a text-only document, particularly if the paper is highly absorbent and the environment is dry.
      - Using the draft and black only settings on your printer can help save on ink, particularly the colors.
      - Shutting the printer down between uses can result in some savings. However, always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That will let the printer to 'park' so that the nozzles that spray the ink onto the paper are protected from excess drying.

If any problem persists, I suggest that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and guide you through any applicable troubleshooting. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

I use this as a wireless printer and whenever my Comcast internet drops or usually when I turn off/turn on the printer it is difficult to get the printer on-line again. Running the HP Smart app doesn't usually fix it. Curious that the printer shows on-line on my iPhone but off line on my Windows 10 PC which is where I want to print from. On/off button is finicky and I usually have to push several times to turn off. The LCD display on the printer is so small that it is worthless. The paper output tray is poorly designed such that even when fully extended the printed pages usually end up on the floor.

      Hi there,

I am so sorry to know that you needed the CD in order to install the printer successfully. I can easily understand why this would be puzzling and eventually quite frustrating, so I’ll offer some resources and information I hope will help.

With that said, you can also connect and start using your printer through your WiFi connection. To do so, just follow the steps shown in the next HP Support document:
      - Connect to a Wireless HP Printer: support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04608548

If the problem persists, I suggest that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836. Bought this for my girlfriend for school. For the price it really does a good job. It’s a little slow, but for school work it is fine. Don’t expect anything fancy, just a good little printer.

I'm sure it's 'user error' but if it were as easy as 'plug and play' like 99% of my other stuff, I'm sure it would have been fine. Set up has been frustrating, and randomly, like 2 hours later, it might spit out a test page! It prints when it wants to or not at all. Even if it's user error, it should be simpler to get it hooked up and ready - that's on the maker.

      Hi,

I'm really sorry to hear that the WiFi connection to your printer has been so difficult, especially since it is hindering your subscribing to Instant Ink. Many customers love that program.

It wasn't clear to me what the problem was, but you can try the troubleshooting directions in these documents:
      - (Windows) support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05049179
      - (Mac) support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05049300

I do not recommend buying this product - and especially the protection plan with it. I have had HP printers that lasted for several years. Little troubleshooting here and there - but always easy to resolve. This printer has had functionality issues in staying connected to a network after only a few months using. I have tried everything form HP Smart to my network provider resetting my router; only ever got it to print 1 document one more time - never got it to work again after that. Protection Plan requires you to take into store for a fix. Not worth it for a inexpensive item like this to set an appt at a Best Buy Store to 'try to repair'.
