Good home use printer with potential

Setup was quick and simple from unboxing and ink insertion to wifi connection. Prints are fast regardless of color or grayscale. The prints also show the paper texture on standard weight printer paper, wasn't expecting that, but can appreciate it. Not a five star review because the print tray was a little confusing to figure out, took awhile and a few tries to get it open, though I might consider that user error. The thing to really make it not a five star is that it's not possible to adjust the paper loader for custom sized paper. Would have appreciated a slider there when the printer offers limited custom sized printing.

This is a convenient sized printer/scanner that's no taller than a smart phone and fits into my rolling leather case when I must be in the field so it's compact size is super spacious! If only it didn't need to be plugged in or could offer an alternative source of power. Wireless feature makes it even sweeter! Highly recommend.

    First HP Purchase

This was my first purchase of an hp product and I heard such great reviews about how user friendly the brand is and after speaking with a Best Buy associate, he highly recommended it.. When I bought this it was insanely complicated to get it to connect to wifi and after several hours on the phone with hp support (someone foreign and hard to understand) I gave up on the wireless function. I tried to use it with 1st basic paper and it printed ok, though there were lines in the paper that did go away after a few prints (what a waste of ink though); then cardstock and it took no less than 4 and a half minutes to print 1 page. It was loud and jerky the whole time, and this was all on the correct settings per hp support as well (a different conversation than figuring out the wifi issue). It refused to feed matte flyer paper AND photo paper which I specifically asked the BB salesperson if it was compatible and we researched together and the website said yes it was. Even though the settings were entered properly on the computer and the printer, it would just not "recognize the paper type". The only thing "easy" or "user friendly" about this printer was ordering ink because the built in app popped up on the screen every time a new page printed and reminded you to buy ink, super annoying. Ultimately, it was not worth the hassle and I returned it and bought a cannon which had better print quality and I could use it with different kinds of paper. This hp printer would be ok for the person who prints less than 20 pages, on regular standard paper, with black ink only, per month.

      Hey,

I'm so sorry about these print quality, paper feeding, and connectivity issues you encountered! Despite this experience, I assure you that it’s always our intention to provide much more reliable printing. With that said, I regret that we fell short this time. It is unfortunate to hear that you had to return the printer, but I hope that the process for doing so was seamless.

I also hope that you'll allow us another opportunity in the future to stand by the quality we pride ourselves on. We would love a chance to make things right.

      Take care,

Goes through ink pretty fast. Definitely buy the XL cartridge and that does much better. No other complaints for the price.

Perfect for smaller areas. Allows for scanning, printing, etc but is a little slow. The ADF only takes one page at a time which is a little disappointing, but if you don't scan much (like me), it's not that big of a deal.

Really annoying. Can't get my Pixelbook to connect so I have to send to Google drive and print from my phone. Wireless isn't awesome. Finished product is fine, print quality is good, but just connecting is a pain. Price was low, so that is good.

I have enjoyed my desk jet. It sits perfectly on my desk and is not in the way of my computer. It's nice to have a printer right next to me in stead of having to go in the other room to get copies.

My college son is very pleased with the printer because it’s compact. He’s very happy with the size since he’s main concern that it would take up too much real estate on his desk.

This printer is just a printer but it helps to print papers. You wont have to take trips to the library. It only prints but if thats all you need then that will be perfect.
