Purchased after researching other comparable manufacturers. Best Buy sale price made it a good purchase. Setup was a breeze and startup time is quick. Battery life might be a bit short for price but I do not do a lot of work away from an outlet no big deal. Has met all expectations and needs.

This laptop has a ton of connections, and the keyboard has a unique feature--the keyboard printing on the keys is large and very easy to read, as well as the backlighting is great--great for older people and low lighting environments. Facial recognition login is very nice--no passwords!

I compared 3-4 Laptops and chose this one because of the description and price offered. I wanted a powerful LAptop so I could transfer everything from my Desktop and work away while traveling, and this Laptop far exceeded what I was expecting for the price. I love it and highly recommend it.

I had HP build my previous desktop computer with Windows 7, previous desktop and laptop both had Windows 7. Prior to that I had Vista, (much maligned unfairly). I couldn't get 7 in a new laptop so I'm stuck with 10. Other than the OS this computer gives you a lot of bang for the buck.

Came with Windows 10 but I also successfully installed a version of the Linux operating system -- Ubuntu. Now I can boot up into Win 10 and work there, or boot into Ubuntu and work in my preferred operating system. My main complaint is the extremely tiny printing of "F1, F2, F3, F4 ... F12" across the top row of keyboard keys, and the extremely tiny "ins" on the Insert/Print Screen key. Toggling on the back-lit keyboard doesn't help. I simply can't read those keys here with my late-60s vision/eyesight. I resorted to scotch-taping a strip of paper just above the F-keys and carefully printing "F1, F2, F3, .... F12, ins" in bold, black ink. Works. HP needs to make that top row of keys LARGER. ... including the Home, End, Pg Up, and Pg Dn keys. Also, the L-arrow and R-arrow keys are fine, but HP needs to make the Up-arrow and Down-arrow keys the SAME SIZE.(!) Otherwise, this seems to be a darn good, reliable 17" laptop.

I have been a confirmed Dell owner for several computers over 20+ years. I bought the HP Envy because it had everything I was looking for and the Dell PC couldn't come close to the clearance price that I paid for the HP Envy, which included a DVD drive. Love the touch screen too!

The HP Envy laptop is a substantial computer that is responsive and easy to use. The keyboard is especially good and has the option of backlit keys If you happen to be working in the dark. Overall I give this very high rating and I enjoy it very much. I would recommend it to my friends.

Last laptop was quite a few years old, so going to this touchscreen and Windows 10 has been fun and challenging. Vista was on old laptop. going to Windows 10 on new is like flip phone to smartphone! I'm not very computer savvy, so it's been a learning curve, but love the laptop!

Keyboard provides no tactile feedback, you have to look at the screen to see if what you typed actually was there. Many times I know that I did hit a letter and it did not show up. Impression is the keyboard is second rate. Battery Life is about 1/2 what my previous Laptop had but it is also less expensive. Being older I Realy appreciate the larger screen. Overall worth what I paid for it.

This is my second HP Envy computer purchased. I must say that this laptop has not disappointed me. The statrtup time is quick and the blazing speed of the processor make it exceptional for my needs. All in all the HP - ENVY 17.3" Touch-Screen Laptop is a great purchase.

I had a Samsung that lasted several years but it was time for a new computer. I liked the feel and style of the HP ENVY. I really haven't tried the touch screen but right now this is exactly what I was looking for. It was easy to set up. No crashes, no delays, new features.

In all, the computer has some newer features which I like and missing a feature I had on my previous laptop. Fingerprint identifier is not on this laptop but camera identifies facial features. A fast computer and will handle pretty much whatever I need it for. I'm still learning what it has feature-wise so I may upgrade it to 5 stars.
