It crashes when I turn it on, it crashes if it's gone to sleep. It disconnects from the Internet. I paid a lot of money for this computer, and I can't depend on it - I never know when it will crash and/or disconnect from the internet. If I had been told how many problems Windows 8.1 has, I would have waited until Windows 10 was on new computer purchases, which I should have been told when I was purchasing this computer.

For a non computer geek the learning curve is high. Not even used the printer so can't comment. Thank goodness for my son that helped me put social media downloads. I am getting way too many e-mails from Best Buy.

Really dislike Windows 8.1 and the HP started running fast and now it's slowing up. Don't know if I would purchase another HP again, but time will tell.

I was previously using Win8 with a different HP laptop, and the response times were much faster, even though it had less memory.

This laptop is very nice, fast and works very well.

This was purchased as a gaming/educational computer. This has been used by everyone in the family and even taken a few falls and continues to operate flawlessly.

My new laptop has several problems, the baterry discharged even when I turrn it off one usb don't work I don't like the geek squad plan that I have purchased

This is the second time I have had a very bad experience. This computer first would not even turn on. Once the geek squad got it up. Within 5 minutes of running it went black. I actually refused to accept delivery of this computer. According to the geek squad, HP has a very bad quality control and are putting out junk. I will never try another HP computer again. Stay away from HP.

Very pleased with my first laptop. Good picture quality. Good storage space for my pictures and music.

I use this laptop for work everyday. Light, easy to operate with a great screen display.

I started the laptop and it has dead pixels. I am not satisfied with my purchase.

It's very fast and has a lot of storage. The sound is awesome and once I get use to the touch screen, will love having that option. The backlit option for the keyboard is great.

I had this laptop for about 24 hours and thought it was pretty decent. I wanted a computer that would handle some basic gaming in addition to having a professional look for me to use for occasional work. This one looks awesome and has a decent graphics card, so I went with it. Everything was going well until I actually installed a game. There was a setting in the touchpad driver that prevents the touchpad and keyboard from being used at the same time. I disabled the setting and... nothing changed. I also found a setting in windows 8.1 to disable a delay after typing. Again, nothing changed. I uninstalled the touchpad driver and it completely solved the problem. However, without the driver installed I lost all the ability to use gestures like two-finger scrolling/tapping. Apparently with the latest driver for the touchpad the "smartsense/palm detection" cannot be turned off even if you switch it off in the settings. This makes gaming nearly impossible. If you aren't buying this laptop for any gaming, it is a fantastic system! Otherwise wait for a driver update for the touchpad.

I purchased my Hewlett--Packard Envy Laptop with the 17.3" HD screen, I7 5th Gen processor, dedicated graphics, 16 Gig of RAM, and more, over 2 months ago. I use it to run a very large 3D engineering and drafting software program. It handles it well. I love this computer. It is fast, has plenty of RAM, and a 1 T hard drive, The work station I use at work was three times the price but does not perform any better than my HP Envy Laptop. The only thing I wish it could do is allow the screen to flip all the way back so I could stand it up like a 2-in-1. I love the touch screen and the 10 key keyboard. This laptop is a great value for all the features that you get. I will definitely give HP first look for my future computer needs.

I recently bought this laptop and it is awesome! it's very fast: great graphics for a laptop and good enough for some games: the processor is one of the best processors around: Intel i7 5500u 2.4 GHz. in addition to it's brilliant memory. In contrast, it's battery is not that good, you can only use the computer for about two and a half hours when it's fully charged. and it has a huge impact for those who want to use it for longer time. so if you don't care about this battery issue, this is the computer for you
