I had to do a return of a cannon I had recently purchased so I looked around and decided to get this one because it is not to big, does everything that I need in a printer. Air print was a must, and the ink sent so you don't run out for only 2.99 a month, wow ,

This is a great printer at a reasonable price. Works flawlessly. Very very simple to hook up wireless. An added plus is the cost of the ink refills.

We got this printer for its wireless capabilities so we could print from multiple computers. The print quality is excellent, and it worked from the moment we turned it on. Great printer!

It's been years since I last owned an HP printer. I bought this Envy model to replace a Canon inkjet—the 3rd Canon printer I've had major trouble with. So far, this HP printer works great. This printer comes with an HP app that I'll probably never use, unless I want to print remotely (while I'm not home), which I likely won't do. Setup was very easy, once I realized I didn't need to use the app for that. I simply followed the printer's onscreen instructions and had no trouble connecting it to my home wifi network. I always turn the printer off (not just sleep mode, but fully powered down) when it's not in use. Each time I power it on, it reconnects to my home network on its own. Inserting/removing ink cartridges is easier with this HP printer than it was with my Canons. But I'm suspicious of the surprisingly small size of HP's black ink cartridge. I know these are supposedly "high yield" cartridges, but something tells me I'll run out of black ink soon. We'll see how long it lasts. The Envy prints full 8x10 pages (b&w and color) as fast as I expect from any good inkjet. It's also about as noisy as I expect any inkjet printer to be. Heck, it's even a bit quieter than my busted Canon. If I honestly wanted a super fast and quiet printer, I'd buy a laser printer instead of an inkjet. But for my at-home purposes, the HP Envy is fine. It's not like I have to shout over the sound of the printer. The print quality's good for an inkjet. I didn't buy the Envy to print lots of photos (I generally don't print many photos from home), but the few I've printed look good. At first I was annoyed by the extension arm that automatically pops out (if you've pushed it in) when you print something. But I've accepted it as a charming little quirk. Loading paper in the tray is very easy, and I've had no paper jams yet. I especially like the Envy's screen display, compared to my old Canon's display. The HP's display is better lit, and the options are easier (for me) to navigate through than the Canon's menu of options. I can wirelessly print from my laptop, iPad, and phone to the HP with no trouble. The scanner works as expected. I hope this printer lasts a lot longer than my old Canons did. It's certainly more pleasant to use.

This is a review of the HP ENVY 5540 All in One Printer. Works well. Good price. No paper jams/happy with paper feeder. Flat Bed scanner option works well. Selected this one based on 3 things: Fit-to-page option when copying, ability to scan & save to computer wirelessly, cost of ink. Relatively easy to use. Bought this with a friend. I ranked quality as average. Purchased it knowing full well it will not last forever.

Works with my old tablet (Windows RT) via an app, and directly with my Windows 10 OS laptops...and even remotely from a cell phone! Love the instant ink option (nust received my first package with new ink). Very nice print quality without spending hundreds. Easy set up and security. Have not scanned yet to comment on that. Just wish they would bring back the low profile, minimalist rectangular cases of 10 years ago.

When buying this printer it was very easy to follow instructions to install on my computer. .Since the purchase, I have had no problems with this equipment, no jamming, clear printing.. I like the other features that help me when knowing how much ink is remaining and when running out of paper. Very happy to get this equipment for a reasonable price. Have not used it for printing photos ,yet.

This replaced a 3 and 1/2 year old HP 5520 printer when the black ink quit working. It was easy to set up and has a slightly larger footprint than my previous model. It works well connected to a desk top and prints wirelessly from an old laptop once we downloaded the proper software (easy)The copies are crisp and no smudging. There is a little bit longer lag printing from the desktop computer. It makes photocopies as quick as the previous model. Also I am trying the HP instant ink option- it was a great deal with several moths of free printing. No complaints so far and would rate as a 5 if not for the printing lag time.

As a first time owner of a wireless printer/scanner I am very pleased with how user friendly this product is. I am no IT expert and this was easy to install to my laptop and the quality of the print product is great.

I really like that this printer is wireless and it prints documents and pictures well. But it keeps saying it is offline so my husband and I have had to reinstall the software on each of our computers.

This printer has excellent print quality from draft through photo printing. It was fairly easy to set up and connect with our home WiFi network, and printing from my Android phone is as simple as printing from my laptop. The double sided function works well, though the printer is noisy when flipping the paper. But that isn't a problem for us. I did not give the printer 5 stars because I have not been able to get the printer to scan, which is really irritating, since scanning is an indispensable function. I have followed the troubleshooting suggestions at the HP site to no avail. Perhaps if a phone call to tech support solves the problem easily enough, I'll revise my review to 5 stars. I'm usually able to work through these issues without calling, but I still hope that I overlooked something simple, since otherwise it is a great printer. Knowing the problems I've had trying to scan, even with the software all saying that it should work, also means I hesitate to recommend the printer, without that forewarning.
