    Worst printer ever!

I've been a loyal HP customer for years but after my most recent purchases, I plan to look elsewhere. This printer is not nearly as useful as my last and that one was problematic with driver issues and scan never operational. The scan function on this model did not come with standard margins and I used about 10 pages of instant ink trying to fix it. This printer also requires additional steps to print the same job that previously required only one step. That is not progress! Though the literature states it handles a range of paper sizes I and numerous HP representative have not been able to configure it to print on sentence strips (3"x12") which my previous model could simply do. I am also not a fan of the HP Instant Ink program. It does not distinguish between printing one word per page and an entire page of text or a photo. I print many documents with only one sentence or a couple of words but was charged for full pages. In addition, blank pages that I've mistakenly inserted in an Excel file were also included in my page counts.

color is way off -easy set up

set up was really easy - phone n laptop. my issue is the color - i do alot of craft printing - cards, tshirts, so color is important - no looking fo subtle photo quality - even really pronounced simple color - like in a cartoon - are very muddy - even a single color text - prints much darker than my macbook pro screen - might return.

Does not print 4 x 6 photos from photo tray!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The printer does not function properly as it should, It does not pick up 4 x 6 photo papers from the photo tray. The only way to print them is to remove plain paper and place photo paper in the envelope tray on the bottom. When needing paper documents you have to slide open paper keepers and remove photo paper and reload plain paper. This is not the way the instructions are explained. Got on the chat line for two hours with HP support line and nothing was resolved. Also went back to best buy and the demo did the same thing. The sales associate said I would have to deal with HP. This product has let me down as well as some other folks that I have read about. Looks like Thailand can't build these as good as China did!

I thought this was a network printer

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Unfortunately, no computer that's on my network wirelessly can find it. I've done web searches and tried to contact HP, but there's no contact number I can find. Terrible service -- links on the website saying "contact us," but then they provide no way to contact -- stop getting my hopes up! I can print to the printer sometimes from my hard-wired computer. I tried using google cloud print through that, but it stops printing after a few pages. So if I'm working on one of my laptops and have several pages to print, I have to save them all, transfer them to my other computer, and then print them. It's this waste of time that I was hoping to avoid by getting a network printer.

When I couldn't recalibrate my previous printer(brand starts with a "C"), I searched online & ended up buying this. It did a lot of work tonight & I used up it's black ink cartridge, but that's completely understandable. I'll get a few more black ink cartridges & get back to work.

I bought this about a month ago and have since printed maybe 10 pages. I'm studying and trying to print out 2 pages...*2 PAGES*, but apparently the black ink cartridge is empty. Or broken. Or missing. I've "reinstalled" it as it suggests, but it does not work. I cannot print. I had the same idiocy with my last HP printer that up and died. I've been loyal to HP printers for 15 years. I will NEVER own another one again!!

I primarily use this printer for school use, but it prints photos nicely once scanned. One problem I have found is that it unsyncs itself randomly and can only be corrected by geek squad; otherwise a great printer.

    Print Quality

Set up and connectivity was fairly easy but the print quality is terrible. I ensured that the printer was functioning correctly and it had new ink. Using new Kodak photo paper, this printer produced lines on the page and the color was poor.

This printer is such a upgrade from my last. My favorite thing about it is being able to scan something into my email. That makes life super easy for me. Also being able to print from my iPhone is a huge plus in my eyes as well!

    Junk, unaligned junk.

Bought this printer to replace my last cheapo printer. Usually cheapo printers work for the life of their included ink, you run out of ink, and it's cheaper to buy a new one. This HP Envy made it about 15 pages before it start to get unaligned. I went through the alignment multiple times and it still looks like cr@p. I finally got it to print a few pages of what I need, but what a piece of junk. If I have to waste 4 pieces of paper for alignment every 15 pages, that's almost a 25% waste of ink/paper and 100% waste of anyone's time. A printer should just print and this model simply doesn't live up to the covenant Envy name.

    Great printer for a while

We bought this printer two years and 5 months ago. It worked great until last month, just after the warranty was up. First the color printing went out--new ink cartridge, cleaned with the process in the printer. Went through all the steps on HP.com until the last step was take it in for service or buy a new one. Now it won't even copy in black, although the black will still print. It was good while it lasted, but kind of disappointing it didn't have a longer life.

For the money, this is a great all in one printer. It met all the needs that we had for it and came highly recommended over a higher priced model by the salesperson.
