I picked up the HP Envy 6555 for what I consider light to medium usage in my home office (up to 50 pages / photos per week but typically closer to 20). This review is based on the first few days of use, to include printing docs, photos, scanning, and remote printing. TL:DR - This is a semi-compact all in one printer that prints docs, photos, and scans. The touch screen is adequate, and the companion app makes remote printing easy. I appreciate the app for the remote capabilities but it could be more streamlined. Overall the printer is straightforward, easy to use, and the print quality is good in comparison to other light duty models. Pros: Compact, the paper feed and printer trays fold up to take up minimal space while still having a full flat bed scanner. Remote printing is quick and easy, to include remote photo printing from your phone's camera Cons: The touchscreen is tiny, fine for the larger one button options, but super hard to type on such as entering wifi passwords. The work around is to pair to wifi via the app, but see the next point, this workflow kept erroring out for me. Not sure if this is Android platform or home network issue, but remote connection and app control seems a little buggy, requiring multiple attempts to connect and then failing to retain print settings. In the box is the printer, 1 x color and 1 x black ink cartridges, power cord, and paperwork. Setup is easy, when you plug it in you can either  follow the prompts on the printer screen, or install the HP app and set up that way. I chose a hybrid of setting up via screen but then I connected to the app later to facilitate remote printing. One newer setup feature is that the printer will print a test page once paper and ink are installed, and then the screen directs you to put it on the scan bed at which point it will run a program to check for print head alignment and auto adjust. Performance is good resolution and print quality wise, and works fine for low to medium usage, I get about 8 - 9 pages a minute for most text docs that are primarily black with some color. Photos take about a minute to print one, faster if lower resolution, and scanning is relatively quick via the document feeder. Flatbed scanning does take a while, and again it depends on resolution as to exactly how long. All print/scan features can be performed via the printer, however the app is really helpful for remote printing, setting adjustments, mobile fax, diagnostics, and ink status with reorder ability, plus there is printable content such as coloring pages, graduation invites, etc. Note that HP does offer an ink on demand service, a 3 month trial is included with this printer. I do use this service with another printer, for my teen in college. The way it works is that you select a level based on the forecasted amount of printing, and then connect your printer to wifi, the self diagnostics will track ink usage and initiate ink refills to be sent when the printer gets low.  Bottom line - this printer is great if you're printing a few photos or docs every week and don't need them printed fast. It's light duty for home office, but still has features of more robust printers such as the feed tray for multi-page scanning, remote printing, and cloud based scanning. The print quality is high when selecting the highest resolution, but the trade off is the time it takes to print. Overall it works great for the occasional print that I can send to the printer via cell or computer and pick up later on my way out the door.

The original setup for the HP Envy was very straightforward, after the usual questions of language and wi-fi etc. and permissions it was good to go. It comes with a guick user guide and ink. The ink is accessed by lifting the scanner plate. It just snaps right in. After loading the paper in the tray, I took a picture with my phone, that had dark/light areas and shadows. Printing the pic was relatively fast and very quiet. The attached page was printed on regular paper, not photo paper and it represents everything very well. There's the touchscreen that's very reactive even from sleep mode. It is a bit small so very large hands may have a slight issue. The menu key has everything needed to do any set ups, a good sub menu under it is the tools where you can do maintenance, which may come in handy. An option in set up is to have HP send ink for a fee. I chose not to opt in since I'm not a huge user and can order it cheaper online if needed. This is a sleek, small footprint printer that fits in with my decor nicely. I can use my cell or Surface Pro to print from wherever I am. I really like it compared to the clunky one it replaces.

HP ENVY 6555 ALL-IN-ONE PRINTER, I’m loving having a photo printer at home again instead of hoarding a million pictures on my phone that will never get printed 98% of the time, my last printer I failed to realize it did not print pictures but it had other great needed qualities, so that being said I now have the all in one printer it has everything my old one had plus photo printing and it’s also a more compact sleek printer, I like that it has a flat top feeder rather then the big ramp style it just looks nicer. It is a quick and easy set up, make sure to download the HP application it 100% useful I have instant ink subscription I never run out and of ink or paper and no issues of trying to find which store has the ink cartridge you need in stock. I always set up wireless printing vs. wired I hate having a million wires to deal with, the wireless connection is quick and easy takes like 2 minutes to set up, then test your setting to make sure everything is lined up correctly. It comes with AI capabilities but I don’t use AI so I honestly couldn’t say how well it works. The color print is amazing nice & bright, borderless pictures look great, it prints fairly fast color printing is slightly slower but that normal, black printer super fast. It has auto 2 sided printing which I like choosing when I do double sided printing so just change the setting. And the touch screen display nice size and in color. I highly recommend HP Envy 6555 for everyday printing needs for home or small business.

I’ve been using an older HP Envy printer for the past 6 years or so and I’ve been very impressed with its quality and ease of use. My only gripes with the old HP Envy were the slow printing speeds and the lack of a screen – everything had to be controlled through the HP app. Enter this new HP Envy 6555 printer. It has the same tiny footprint but packs in some notable improvements. === SETUP === - The Envy 6555 is compact enough to fit comfortably on a desk or shelf. No instructions are included in the box. Instead, you get a QR code that takes you to an online setup guide that is easy to follow. - Setup through the HP Smart app was effortless. The printer connected to my Wi-Fi network seamlessly and was ready to use in under 10 minutes. - My Windows 11 computers and MacBook recognized the printer instantly and automatically installed the HP Smart app. No configuration required. - Advanced printer settings (such as networking, Bluetooth, etc.) are hidden deep within the HP Smart app, and you will need the PIN that is on a sticker on the inside of the printer to access some of these settings. - I’m so glad this printer has a touchscreen – it allows you to control basic printer settings directly on the printer itself without having to use the app. It might seem like a small thing, but having a screen makes it so much easier to quickly see if there are any errors, low ink cartridges, etc. === PRINTING === - Printing quality is excellent and noticeably better than my old Envy 6455e. For standard home use and work-from-home needs, it's perfect. I noticed zero alignment problems and no distortion in printed text or images. - The printer supports duplex (double-sided) printing, which is a must-have for me. - The paper tray holds about 100 pages, which is more than enough for most home users. - Printing speeds are noticeably quicker than my old Envy. The old 6455e model would randomly pause for 10 or 15 seconds between pages. This new 6555 model does not have this problem and easily prints out roughly 10 pages per minute. - The included ink cartridges are only “starter” cartridges and they are very small, so be prepared to purchase full-size ones (or subscribe to HP Instant Ink). === SCANNING == - The scanner is perfectly adequate for home use. I've scanned several business documents while working from home as well as some old photos. Black and white documents look great and colors in scanned photographs seem very accurate. - The scanner supports up to 1200 dpi, which is excellent for such a small home printer. - The auto feeder on top of the printer is one of those nice-to-have features for scanning multi-page documents. It supports up to 35 pages at a time. === INSTANT INK === - While setting up this printer, you’ll see multiple prompts to create an HP account and sign up for an Instant Ink subscription. I generally avoid subscriptions, but Instant Ink is one that makes sense for me since they offer a very affordable “Light” plan that ends up being cheaper than buying black and color cartridges outright. You’ll need to run the numbers to see if you can get value out of this program. - Note that if you sign up for Instant Ink, you won’t be able to use any other type of cartridge – and the Instant Ink cartridges will stop working as soon as you unsubscribe. === OVERALL === For light-duty and basic home printing/scanning needs, this printer will fit the bill for 99% of users, including those who work from home. The inclusion of a touchscreen on the printer is a big plus compared to some older HP Envy models. Printing speed and quality are also improved, and I continue to be amazed by the small size of this printer. Be sure to do the math to see if you’d save money with the Instant Ink program.

Setup couldn't be easier! Print quality is amazing! The HP ENVY 6555 may take center stage in my home office. Only a color and black ink cartridge is required. With the optional HP ink program, one never needs to worry about running low on ink. The print quality is clear, ink dries practically smudge free in a few seconds. Using the HP print app on my Windows PC i was able to connect the ENVY to my Wi-Fi quickly and easily. Even a version for my cell phone (Android). Scanning via the HP app at 300 DPI was very clear and easy to read, almost no noticeable difference from original and scan. I need to see if there is a TWAIN driver for the ENVY or a WIA version. This will complete my software needed for my favorite scanner file system program. The display touch screen allows you to SCAN COPY see supplies without a PC . Speaking of supplies, it uses the HP 68 cartridge series for color and Black ink. They retail for around $55 to $60 standard capacity, and just under $90 for the high yield version. So if you print a lot as I do, go for the extra high yield 68e version.

I needed a printer for my small office, so I picked up Envy 6555 from HP. This is a small printer with 2 cartridges and a scanning bed. This is a compact printer that doesn’t take up much room on the counter. Setup takes about 15 to 20 minutes using the HP printer app. Using your phone’s camera on the smart label on the basic instructions included. You then follow the on-line step by step guide. The on-line guide sets up the WIFI and aligns the cartridges and completes the product registration. As for the printer’s performance and capacity, it will print 7 pages of color documents and 10 pages of black documents. The paper tray holds a very small, 25 sheets of paper. That is one of the only weaknesses in an otherwise very good printer. Some of the features that really stand out are the ability to print from a mobile device, such as your smart phone or tablet. The color touch screen uses HP’s latest print user interface, which is intuitive and easy to use. For those who use instant Ink from HP, you get 3 months included with the purchase of the 6555. There is an upper paper feeder to feed documents and photos to copy or scan. The quality of the scanning function is very good and produces very clear copies and scans. Printing photos is very good for a 2-cartridge printer. I must keep reminding myself that this is an upper entry level printer and it does print above its weight class! Overall, I was very pleased with the Envy 6555 and would definitely recommend this for anyone who needs a good small office printer!

HP Envy 6555 Wireless AI-Enabled All in One Inkjet Printer. I really like this printer! It's sleek and compact, prints, copies, and scans photos and documents. It comes with a 3 months trial of HP instant ink. Included in the box is the HP Envy 6555 wireles/AI-enabled printer, HP color ink cartridge, HP black ink cartridge, and power cord. The set-up to my network WiFi was very easy. I used the wireless connection. However, the set-up to HP Smart was not as easy. The HP Smart app(desktop and mobile) would not register the printer. After uninstalling the app and re-installing on all devices, I was finally able to register. HP Envy 6555 features- prints in color and black has automatic document feeder 2.4" color touchscreen display 100 sheet input tray dual band WiFi plus wireless printing two-sided photo and document printing print web pages and emails with HP AI borderless printing All in all this is a great printer for everyday, homework, and office. It's simple and gets the job done. HP Envy 6555 highly recommend.

I picked up the HP Envy 6555 to replace an older home printer. My printing habits are a mix of personal documents, business printing, occasional school projects for the kids, and family photos. I wanted something compact, wireless, and something that handled colored reasonably well. Direct printing from my phone was a plus. The Envy 6555 fits that niche and after living with it for a while, I have a pretty good sense of how it performs. - Unboxing - The box is noticeably light, and HP clearly leans toward sustainability. The internal packing is mostly cardboard with no foam and limited plastic. Inside, you get a power cord, two cartridges (CMY & K), a setup guide and a reference guide. Wireless is perfect for me. Most of my printing is wireless or direct from my phone. The printer comes in a nice off-white finish and blends well with the room. - Design & Build - The Envy 6555 has a slightly different shape compared to the boxy square all-in-ones I've used in the past. The input trays sits low and extends out from the front. The top holds the scanner and automatic document feeder. There's an extendable front lip that catches the printouts. There's a 2.4 inch color touchscreen on the front left. The lower profile design and lightweight make it easy to move around if necessary. It's right under 14 pounds and the plastic feels light but not fragile, with about 60% recycled plastic. The 2.4 inch touchscreen feels like it's exactly the right size. The icons are large enough to tap accurately, the menus are well organized, and I never felt like I was struggling to navigate. The input tray is definitely on the smaller side at 100 sheets, but for work professionals, students, and families that print hi-res photos and occasional documents, it's plenty. - Software - The HP Smart app ended up being one of my favorite things about the printer. When you open it up, there's a shortcut straight to the Instant Ink dashboard, which is also your smart dashboard. From there I can add additional printers add users to instant ink (more on that later), and check my warranty status (mine is a year). There's info on recycling cartridges and printers. HP pushes the recycling angle pretty hard and it's nice to see here. There's a scan-to-file feature. This gets a workout at my house. Anytime I need to send a document. I can literally just take a picture with my phone through the app and turn it into a PDF. It also exports as JPG, TIF, PNG, or HEIF, and converts to searchable PDF, DOCX, or plain text. That last one is useful when I need to grab content out of a paper document and edit it. There's a creative content library with over 2500 templates, which is great when the kids need something for a school project, but it also gives you a ton of ideas such as making family calendars, baby announcements, and a lot more. This library is comprehensive and well done. Beyond this, there's scan & print, mobile fax, customizable shortcuts, HP Cloud to access your scans, and diagnostics if you have any problems. The app is responsive, well organized, and clearly built to be more than basic print/scan functions. I also installed the HP Smart app on my PC and it has all the features available on the mobile app. Note: On a PC add the printer from the Windows "Add Printer" function. It will find the correct driver quickly. Then, open the HP Smart App and you will see the Envy 6555 on the main screen when you login. - Performance - Print quality is great for a home all-in-one printer. Black text comes out clear with clean edges.I didn't see any smudging on text or graphics. Photos is where this printer really stood out. I ran a bunch of photos directly from my phone on HP photo paper in both 8.5x11 and 4x6 and the results came out great. Colors look vibrant and really pop, the gradients are smooth, and they hold up well against any photo I've had printed at the photo lab. Print speed is 10 ppm for black and 7ppm for color. Although, if you're printing a 4x6 full color photo on photo paper it took about 3 minutes, but the print quality was great. I printed a 2-sided color invoice on plain paper and it printed out relatively quick and quality was also great, no banding issues and colors were accurate. Overall, text with occasional graphics will print very quick, Full color photos will take longer, but the quality is worth it in my opinion. Scanning is a feature that really stands out to me. The resolution is great, it's sharp and documents are not just readable, but also detailed enough to print. The scan to email function worked the first time I tried it and the email showed up in my inbox within seconds. The ADF holds up to 35 sheets of paper so you can just load the paper and sit back and wait instead of loading one-by-one. It is single-sided so you will need to flip it if you want duplex. You can scan anywhere from 75 dpi to 300 dpi. The scanner is slightly louder than the printer. Connectivity has been reliable. I'm using my 5GHz channel. I've had some equipment that will only use the 2.4GHz band so being able to use the 5GHz band is convenient. Data processes quick. There's been no data lag waiting to print. The Instant Ink program is a great idea. I signed up for the 100-sheet-per-month plan, which felt like a reasonable starting point, and HP knows when your cartridges are running low through the HP Smart app. After I printed a batch of test sheets and a bunch of photos, I started to get low on the CMY cartridge and received a couple of warnings. I got an email the next day letting me know ink had already shipped. That's the kind of thing I didn't realize I wanted until I had it. The other nice thing is that a print is a print, whether it's a basic black & white document or a full-color photo on glossy paper. I plan to monitor my monthly usage and adjust the plan to fit my real volume. If I need to move up or down I can easily change my plan through the app. - Pros/Cons - *Pros* * HP Smart App is really good * Touchscreen is a good size and easy to navigate * Wi-Fi connectivity has been reliable * Instant Ink program ships before you run out * Photo quality is excellent * Ink creates clear, smudge resistant text * White finish blends into most rooms * Lightweight and easy to move around the room *Suggestions/Needs Improvement* * Max paper size is A4/Letter * ADF is a simplex scan, Although you can flip it for duplex * No Bypass tray for thicker stocks * Print speeds are average After using the HP Envy 6555 in a typical mixed-use household, I would describe it as a solid pick for home offices that want quality, and print moderately. It handles everyday printing, professional documents, schoolwork, shipping labels, etc., with results that look clean and professional. The standout features to me are the HP Smart app and the Instant Ink subscription. I would recommend this printer to anyone.

HP continues to come out with new printers and I ask myself what makes this home office printer different? Like everything else on the market you have print, copy, and scan capabilities. HP pushes for you to install the HP app on your phone. It does help make things easier upon setup though. Now for print quality and speed of printing.. it's on par with printers at this $150 price range. You always have to do your research because what ends up biting you in your wallet after a printer purchase is the ink cartridges. HP includes a 3 month free of ink replacement. Your mileage will vary on how often you will need ink based on your use but HP is at least trying to help simplify this by having you subscribe to this service. You can rest assured that you at least have a good 1 year coverage for warranty, which seems standard. I think with my main complaint on this printer being that the scanner top is easily slammed when you are using it one handed, I'm scared I might accidentally break this thing soon.

If youre looking for a nice sized printer that is lightweight and does alot of what you want in your home office this is going be a good contender to use. After initial setup, and testing a few prints I would say the print quality of this printer is pretty good, the print speed is as expected, and using photo paper I found it did a really good job of producing a decent quality photo and standard printing was also as good as you would expect from HP. I feel like the amount of ink they give you in start packs are a little on the light side but i guess we will find out down the road when I have to change it out. pros: Dualband wifi + usb 2.0 connectivity 35 sheet Automatic document feeder (ADF) 2.4" color capacitive touchscreen duplex printing (2 sided) Smart app (mobile printing, scanning, copy) 3 months Instant Ink included cons: now ending with 3 months instant ink included, takes me to the gripe, with alot of printers now a days when the printer includes a multi color cartridge, instead of individual c,m,y,k colors, this can end up being costly. for instance if you run out of a certain color you will find yourself replacing the cartridge and wasting ink $$, so on one side its nice there is an option to belong to a monthly subscription service for ink, on the other hand like anything having to pay a monthly fee to keep printing can be, somewhat lack luster. I also felt that it had some issues with the smart app, but thats more an app issue not a printer issue, so its hard to include that here. So at the end of the day what it really comes down to is, is this a good printer, scanner, copier; and the answer is yes, it is a decent printer for a budge friendly multi printer. Will you have issues with this printer, I can't say I personally ran into any real issues printing, and so far its been a decent printer. I'm obviously not going to be printing cookbooks out of the thing but day to day things, a few pictures here and there, some quick word docs, it seems to perform as a budget printer should perform. Please understand that I work in the computer field for 35+ years and I have spent hundreds if not thousands of hours working on printers, fixing printers, and using all brands of printers over my lifetime, and out of all the printers i have ever used, HP has always seems to be really good at producing printers that do what you need them to do - print: plain and simple. The 35 sheet automatic scanner feeder is also a huge plus, nothing i hate more than manually scanning page after page on a flatbed scanner, but when you do need a flatbed this features that too. This printer is probably going to be exactly what you are wanting to not break the bank on a printer scanner copier. Will it be the end all beat all printer, i'm afraid i cant give it that stamp of approval, but i will say for the price, it fairs well with all of its competitors at this price range. HP is a good brand, I would recommend this printer if this is the budget you have to work with, will I say its the best printer at this price range... time will tell.

If you're searching for a simple at-home printer that can handle pretty much all of your everyday printing and scanning tasks without much fuss, the HP Envy 6555 might be for you as long as you're not needing something with speed or heavy-duty throughput. HARDWARE AND SETUP Firstly, I want to say that I think this is a very attractive printer. The white and touches of Champagne are very nice. It's not bulky at all, very low profile, so depending on your space, that might be a plus. There is a small screen for basic navigations and settings. Everything is clear and crisp and what you'd expect on a modern printer from HP. The setup process was a bit strange. Upon first powering up the printer, you scroll through a few screens and then there is a QR code to download the HP app to continue the setup process. Once I downloaded the app on my iPhone, I had to add a new device (the printer). Using the app, it searched for new printers nearby and then I was able to connect it to my wifi network. The setup process failed initially, with no clear reason. But once the app froze and I relaunched it, the printer apparently was successfully connected to the wifi network. After that, I was able to easily find it on my Windows and Mac PCs. Even on my iPhone was simple too! PERFORMANCE I didn't have large reports or anything, but printing a couple black and white forms, some web pages I needed for work, and few test photos for some frames, I can say this is a great everyday home printer. The speed is totally fine and it's pretty quiet compared to an older HP printer I'm upgrading from. When it comes to scanning, it's a great at pretty much all you need to do at home. The automatic document feeder is a real plus if you have several pages you need to scan in one sitting. OVERALL The Envy 6555 is a great everyday home printer for those needing to print reports, recipes, and other simple at-home documents. Photo-quality is sufficient for most of your home and arts projects, but the printer lacks a dedicated photo tray like previous or more advanced Envy printers and color accuracy is not the best. AirPrint is an awesome feature with this one, making it simple for you or others on your wifi network to connect and print. While on the slow side, it provides an okay value for your home printing tasks.

Love this printer. Replaced a seven year old HP with this printer and it works wonderfully. Very easy to use and setup. Print quality is good. It does print a little slower than normal, even on draft.

lost an older HP all-in-one to a lightening strike. needed an all-in-one and this was the right price. plug and play once i got it home. app was easy for me to muddle thru. my only problem was figuring out how to delete the old HP from app. finally figured that out and it's functioning smoothly. subscribed for ink replacement and received a box about 1 week after subscribing. works for me!

My new 'HP Envy 6555' printer is user-friendly. It contains every capability that anyone could possibly desire or need to accomplish everyday printing needs without being complicated to understand and utilize. The physical appearance, including color and layout is attractive as compact as a printer can be without compromising the ability to meet any printing need. It is very reasonably priced.
