I purchased this as a Christmas present for my wife. The 12GB memory and the 2TB hard drive are just what she needs for storing her pictures, music and folders. The PC is amazingly fast even with multiple programs open and running.

I am very happy with the computer so far. It is quick. and powerful. I did however install a Nvidia GTX 760 video card to play the game I like which also required a new power supply But all went in easily.
Can;t beat the specs for the price. I got on sale for $550 so I was thrilled.

This was/is a great buy. I'm very pleased with the specs, has enormous storage, is very fast - i5 and lots of memory. I was coming from a 2008 Vista PC and the difference is night and day. Windows 10 is familiar. There were a few glitches but googling them I found that MANY people had them -- win 10 issues, not this PC. For instance, search box and start menu became inactive. Found a fix online. Edge icon disappeared so I'm using an alternate.

Not Happy HP Envy 750-114

I purchased this new HP Envy 750-114 to replace a 6-1/2 year old HP Pavilion that is still running Vista. I also have an all-in-one HP and a Toshiba laptop, thankfully both run on Windows 7. The HP Envy 750-114, has 12 GB RAM and a 2 TB harddrive and runs Windows 10. I expected this to run much faster than the 6-1/2 year old desktop it was replacing. It has not met my expectations. It takes about the same amount of time to load a website or program on the new PC as the old one. The HP Envy 750-114 is very unreliable and frequently freezes when multi-tasking or after spending 15 or so minutes on the web. The only way to get past the freeze is to power-off the computer. Once it freezes the Ctrl+Alt+Del does not work to bring up the task manager as it does on most of my other computers. I also have problems seeing the other computers on the Network from the HP Envy. The other computers recognize the HP Envy but the HP Envy only recognizes my laptop.
The design of the tower is horrible. This is a very large tower and there is plenty of room for the DVD drive to be mounted horizontally. Instead HP chose to mount it vertically which means a DVD or CD can only be inserted or removed using two hands and only from the left side. This is very inconvenient. There are 4 USB ports, a media card reader, and an audio plug on the top that are located behind the top front panel. They cannot be seen from the front and they are aligned at an angle. The only way to insert the USB is to pull the tower out from under the desk, tip it forward, get a flashlight so you can see the angle of the port and insert your USB device or cable properly. The same holds for the media reader which is located along the same panel. Whoever designed this must have been looking at the computer from the back not the front. This is the worst design I have ever had in any of the computers I have owned in the past 25 years.
The included keyboard is so small that it is hard to keep your fingers in the right placement. The right arrow key is actually under the Number pad, so it is frequently touched when that it not the intention. I will be replacing the keyboard.
Microsoft Edge, which replaces Windows Explorer is terrible. It causes the computer to freeze 9 out of 10 times. Microsoft Edge does not recognize/launch hyperlinks in emails I downloaded the IRS 1040 PDF forms using Edge, and I could not enter data onto the form. I redownloaded using Chrome and the data could be entered. I could not believe this would make a difference, so I tried again using Edge and the same thing happened. I made Chrome the default browser and that helped but it still freezes up about 1/2 the time if have multiple tabs open or multiple hyperlinks have been clicked.
I have owned several HP computers in the past and all have been reliable work horses. This is the worst HP and the worst computer I have owned to date.

I was impressed that this included a 2TB hard drive as well as more RAM than any of the similar priced counterparts.
The first one I received had the 2 USB's in back that didn't work.
Replaced it at store even though it was originally ordered online.
It is fast but so far, I've found it hangs up when multiple tabs are opened. That being said, it is a good machine at a great price!

Happy with product. We find it difficult to plug in USB's at an angle. We are having problems with Windows 10 "locking" and the only fix is to shut the computer down.

This PC was on sale($549) at the time of my purchase and count not be beat considering the specs it comes with. It has plenty of memory with 12GB paired with the fast 6th gen Intel i5 processor. Although I would of preferred a SSD (solid state drive) the hard drive is big and it is a bit faster than the typical 5400 rpm, this one is 7200 rpm. It is quiet and cool. Also it has plenty of ports, including USB 3.0

Spent a little extra to get the added memory and storage. This desktop boots super fast (around 30 seconds), and there is never any lag even when running multiple apps. Pre-loaded with Windows 10 which is light years better than 7 or 8. Everything has been made easy even for the novice user. Purchased mostly for processor intensive tasks like video editing, so this definitely fits the bill. Don't buy this if you're just going to surf the internet.

I love my HP Envy desktop computer. It has 16Gb of memory and a 2 TB hard drive which was more than I required at the moment but gave me the room to expand with changing technology. I have a laptop also but a desktop gives you more flexibility and I feel is best for storage of important files. This replaced an older HP which was still functioning just fine but I wanted to upgrade to windows 10 and the HP Envy had 10 preinstalled. Great computer for everyday tasks and internet surfing.

Purchased this PC a few weeks ago. So far, I'm very impressed. It came with a 2 TB drive and was able to slap another 1TB drive in one of the bays. Plenty of room for expansion, as this isn't a small PC. The i5 performs great. I haven't done any hard core gaming, but I have played some casual games and it performed without a hitch. The 12GB of RAM is probably overkill, but welcome if you run any VMs. The placement of the front USB 3 ports could be better. I find myself having to look to see where the ports are because they are facing backwards, but once you plug in your device, there's a nice little tray on the top of the case where you can rest the device. Overall, I think this PC offers a great amount of value vs performance. One thing I do miss is the hard drive activity light... That's more of a personal preference nitpick, but worth mentioning. I won't rate it lower as a result of that.

We were upgrading our desktop. This model had the most bang for your buck with 12 GB RAM and a 2 TB hard drive. We have been very pleased. It is extremely quiet. Windows 10 has been easy to use. The wireless mouse and the lightweight keyboard work great too.

Geek Squad flawlessly transferred data from old computer to this new one. It's fast, has plenty of USB ports, and a ton of memory. I have since connected a printer, microphone, camera, and speaker system with no trouble at all. Great value for the money!

This computer was great for me, a beginner, as long as I could quickly contact "The Geek Squad" to help me through the snags. It seemed to leave me stranded in the middle of tasks/actions with no directions about what to do next; then, it would go back to the original screen, if I took too long to make a decision about what to do next. For those of us that were not playing with tablets as toddlers, this may be too much advancement too soon. Don't buy this computer, if you, like me, are inexperienced, unless you have the money to invest in paying extra to have "The Geek Squad" walk you through your trouble-spots and/or pre-install everything before you bring your computer home. However, I would recommend this computer to someone, whom has intermediate-advanced experience with downloading software, uploading information, and general computer know-how---because, for them, it would be and excellent computer, in my opinion.

This PC has not disappointed. I did some homework and I've had several HP laptops and always loved them but thought about going with an ASUS desktop. After comparing the options, processor, and RAM size, I decided to stay with the HP and I'm very happy. This PC is so smooth and fast. It's got the dual HDMI video outputs which I have 2 Dell 24" monitors connected and a 3rd Dell 24" through USB 3.0. It's been a great Day Trading computer as there's no lag between actions.

For those of us who still require/desire a desktop maybe because of a nice monitor and faulty previous desktop, this one provides a good value for the amount of RAM, hard drive space (2 TB), and processing (6th gen Intel i5) contained within. No monitor included but does have a bluetooth-enabled optical mouse and wireless keyboard.

The PC runs very fast. I mostly use it for online browsing and video streaming. I use bluetooth speakers, so I haven't been able to use the full audio features on the PC. Comes with a few HP apps and features that I don't really care about, but they can come in handy. I bought mine on sale, so far it's been worth every penny.

Excellent cost effective computer for most applications. I am not a gamer, so that is not important to me. I do some digital photo post production. If I had my druthers, I would have liked 16GB of memory rather than 12GB, but I can upgrade and the 12GB seems to be sufficient right now. A great work computer at a great price.
