Have had the HP750-114 for about a week. It is definitely fast and the 2TB HD is a real plus. I'm running Adobe PS and Premier Elements with no problems. The EDGE browser runs circles around IE.
However, I am having intermittent problems with the DVD drive. WIN10 does not always immediately recognize (and notify the user via a pop-up) once a CD (or DVD) has been inserted. Often when inserting a new CD, Windows thinks the previous CD is still in the drive, gives erroneous file information, and will not play, open files properly, etc. I spent 2 hours chatting with HP support on this. They do NOT have a solution, but claim the issue has been reported to Microsoft. No ETA on when a fix will be provided via Windows update.
Also, the i5 3.5GHz spec on the BBuy web-site is misleading. The processor rating is actually only 2.7Ghz nominal, but will accelerate to 3.5GHz (turbo mode) when processing demand increases.
Hope this helps everyone make an 'informed' decision.

Keyboard and Mouse a Nightmare!

Literally the day of buying this computer I started having issues with the keyboard and mouse. The mouse started skipping all over the place and the keyboard has input lag severely. The stock operating system is lagging it down. So I'm having to optimize the operating system for better performance to be able to simply use my keyboard and mouse.
The computer itself works WONDERFULLY and I couldn't be more pleased with it! It's just this mouse and keyboard issue that I'm very unpleased about.

I did my research and read the reviews on this HP - Envy Desktop - Intel Core i5 - 12GB Memory - 2TB Hard Drive - Brushed Metal. I knew this was the one, the perfect desktop computer in every way. I even got a price match from Walmart which was lower than the Best Buy sale price and Best Buy sold it to me at that price. This desktop features 12GB up to 16GB of high-bandwidth memory for multitasking, The Bang & Olufsen audio has clear sound when viewing movies. High definition graphics which allows you to connect to HDTV or up to 3 monitors. Perfect timing to get this computer along with the 5 dollar birthday certificate Best buy sent me by e-mail. Thank you Best buy!

Easy setup. Love the clutter free cables that includes wireless internet.
I did had a bit trouble connecting HDMI to my tv. I had to use my mom's SHARP tv instead of a cheap brand HDTV. Make sure your tv or computer monitor fully supports HDMI for this computer.
Note: This computer only has HDMI port. NOT VGA. So if you want VGA you will need to buy an adapter.

Computer is basically junk - motherboard failed exactly one year and one month after purchase. Odense HP Intel chipset 170 motherboards turn out to be an absolute nightmare to find.
Do not buy.

No issues setting this up. The only issue I had was that I almost through away the USB for the wireless mouse/keyboard. I'll upgrade those in the future but for now they are acceptable. This CPU may be a hit or miss from looking at all the reviews but I must've got lucky and picked out the one that worked. The only issue I have is with Windows 10 and that is only because I have never used it before.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS! Bought the computer when it was on sale last week for $549.99 because I thought it was a great price for what I was getting (huge amount of memory and storage). Nothing but a headache from day one. Had to spend $30 to buy a VGA adapter because it only accepted an HDMI plug. Didn't like the keyboard, the keys seemed too close together and it slowed down my typing because I had to keep correcting mistakes from hitting the wrong keys. Didn't like the vertical positioning of the cd/dvd drive, it made it very awkward to put in a disc since the tower is on the right side of my desk which required me to lean way over to see where to place the disc correctly. But besides the weird placement of the cd/dvd drive, it didn't work! Was on the phone with tech support for over 2 hours and they couldn't get it to recognize that discs were in the tray. Was told they'd send out a box for me to mail it back to them so they could fix it, which would have meant being without the computer for 5-10 business days. I opted to just bring it back to Best Buy and exchange it for another one. Brought home the second computer and had the same problem with the cd/dvd drive not working. Another 2 1/2 hours on the phone with tech support and still the issue didn't get resolved. An option presented to me was to order a part and a technician would come to my home to install the new cd/dvd drive. Sounded good to me...until they said I wouldn't have to pay for the part or the shipping of the part, but I'd be responsible for paying $49 to cover the technician. Excuse me? I have to pay to have a brand new computer fixed that came with a faulty part? Um, no thank you. Returned the second computer computer and exchanged it for a Dell - Inspiron Desktop - Intel Core i5 - 12GB Memory - 2TB Hard Drive - Black
Model: I3847-3538BKSKU: 9407115, comparable to the hp Envy 750-114. Only difference is keyboard and mouse are not wireless. But I like the keyboard better, the cd/dvd tray is horizontal like it should be, and most importantly IT WORKS. A half hour after bringing it home everything was set up and good to go and I was able to listen to my cd's again. I highly suggest getting the Dell instead of the hp Envy 750-114. Best Buy customer service was very good during all of these problems, there was no hassle either time with exchanges even when it was for a different product.

Okay so far

No VGA but I bought a HDMI to VGA converter cable - no big deal. The biggest problem so far was when I tried to install software from the DVD drive. The PC didn't seem to know there was a DVD in the drive and just sat there. However, when I clicked on My PC in explore everything suddenly comes to life. I started installation and then it hung. Had to use task manager to stop installing. Long story short, finally got it to work but I suspect that the drive needed some 'exercise' after sitting dormant in the box. Otherwise so far it seems okay. When it hung during install it gave me the heebee jeebees. Cancelling installations can make a mess of the registry. Working okay now so all I can think s that the drive had dust on it. The DVDs were clean. Also. No easy way of importing photos. Had to download a third party app. Either that or copy directly from the sd card. Photos App did not have the import option. Maybe I need to upgrade it. I bought the PC two days ago. Will post update after a few weeks with it.

Noisy but performs well

This is the first time I've ever purchased an HP computer. I've always bought Dell. However, after going back and forth between two similar HP and Dell models with similar reviews, I decided to give HP a try. The computer performs well. However, I find the noise irritating. If it were steady fan noise, it wouldn't annoy me so much. However, it makes an intermittent, clunking noise as well that I never heard with my Dells. In fact, I'm also concurrently running a 5 year-old Dell Inspiron, and it's very quiet. Both desktop units are under my desk, not on the desktop. Admittedly, I'm a writer (scientific/medical) and background noise of any kind annoys me when I'm working. However, I can get used to a steady background 'hum' with no issue. The clunking noise this one makes, however, is frequent but erratic in nature, which is why it's annoying. This may not bother a lot of people--I know I'm easily annoyed by background noise, and the computer itself performs well and has a very nice external appearance. But if you're like me and want something very quiet that you don't even know is there, you may want to consider another brand. If I had the choice to make again I would buy another Dell; the performance will be the same, but I believe the Dell would be quieter. That said, the iMac is extremely quiet, but I can't use it due to compatibility issues with some of the software I need to use.

Bought this computer for my small office. It has great spec's - lot's of ram, 6th gen i-5, 2 TB hard drive. Plenty for what we do. The first day I only installed some software. Second day, continued installing software. Basic stuff - Microsoft Office, Quickbooks, nothing crazy. I hadn't even used any of it. The problem started while installing Office 2010 - the computer freezing up and my icons disappeared. I couldnt even click on the start button. So I forced the computer off. Turned it back on and I get an error message saying to restart the computer to fix drive errors. Did the restart. Everything seemed back to normal at this point. So I started the process of adding my email account to Outlook. While doing that, the screen went black never to return. Tried forcing the computer off, unplugged it, everything. The machine never came back on. And I repeat - I used this computer TWICE. And by "used" I mean, I turned it on for the purpose of setting it up. After some research, I now see this is a regular issue with this computer.

Love it so far, BUT the only thing is Best Buy says in the specs that the Processor is 3.2 ghz......this is NOT true this Computer is a 2.7...NOT a 3.2 Processor speed. Had it only a day now and everything seams ok...we will see as the days go by....Got this for $ 549.99 on 1/14/16.....the prices seam too change from internet to store bought...be careful there
