Unusable mouse and keyboard
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The main box is acceptable but cheaply made of flimsy plastic that looks like metal. However the mouse is unusable because it has a sharp edge that cuts into the palm of the hand. The keyboard has tiny labels crammed into the corners of the function keys with the rest of the key area blank. Who approved these designs? I kept it only because the main box is adequate and I had a good discounted price on it. Using old mouse and keyboard instead.

HP went Downhill. Worse than Windows 95 era.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do NOT, I repeat, do not get this desktop if you want your sanity. I can have a lot of patience at times, but this computer really tested me on the 1st day of using it. For the price, we should at least expect a decent computer. I kid you not, Windows 95 is probably better. I set up my computer and created a local account instead of a "live" account. I installed ONLY office, and the problems started. Complete freeze with not even the option to use task manager. Did a force restart, thought it was just a rare glitch because of setup. Nope! 2nd reboot, screen is black. 3rd attempt, got to windows opened chrome...... FREEZE, again. I have an online business and this was wasting my time. 3 days wasted, trying to fix this piece of junk. Might be a lemon, however other people online are having the same issue. Did a windows 10 update, nothing. Called HP tech(were nice, but clueless)... Told me to do a system restore, which I thought to do before calling. Did that, and guess what?! In 2016 with so much technological advancement and a collective huge brain power by smart tech people, the system restore failed and my local account just,, got,,, DELETED. Tech lady could not even think of an excuse when I told her this happened. What if this problem happened 3 weeks later when I have important business data saved? Account just gets easily deleted, due to a "glitch"? Beyond frustrated and feeling disassociated with the current tech world we live in, I did a full recovery. Day passes by and freezing happens again. At this point I want to throw this piece of S&$T desktop out the window. Sad, HP, very sad... I used to only buy you; its over. Threw it in the box and RAN to BB. Found a simple looking lenovo with screaming good reviews online and I couldnt be happier. AVOID this HP envy, a complete nightmare. If anyone had the same issue please comment. People were saying its the graphics card, or it could be windows 10 messing up things, even with an update, or OFFICE products causing the freezing. What a WASTE of TIME. Its probably called HP envy because it envies the other great computers out in the market.

The right fit
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Right off the bat, I'll explain that I've had this computer for a full 30 days now. I've used it every day since then, for more than 7 hours each day. I seem to fall somewhere in the middle of the road when it comes to computers. I use my computer extensively (I'm an artist - I draw on my computer) but I really seem to lack knowledge when it comes to buying a computer. I play games on my computer every so often, but I didn't feel it warranted buying a gaming computer, but buying something like this felt off too. That all aside, I'm glad I ended up with this computer. It's actually quite funny, it's hard to find problems about this computer in my experience. Which is obviously a good thing. It handles about everything well, programs open quickly and run smoothly, it starts and shuts down quickly, it multitasks without slowing down, etc. The only downside I CAN think of is that it doesn't run flash too well, it still //does// run it, just not the best. Overall I'm incredibly happy with this computer.

Nice Desktop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very happy with this purchase. I've had this computer for a couple weeks now and have had zero problems. Quick startup, web browsing, and running other programs. No problems with Windows 10. The wireless mouse is a joke, but the keyboard is good.

Excellent product. Great value.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The computer itself is an excellent product. Fast and easy to set up. However, I had issues with the mouse. There was a consistent lag. I called HP and they sent me a new mouse and keyboard.

Good computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this computer to replace my old, slow, Vista OS system. It's a huge step up -- fast, MS 10, able to do everything I've asked of it. That's the upside. The only downsides thus far are it didn't come with a keyboard in spite of the box indicating there was one, which meant a trip to the store because my old one was not compatible, but the computer was refurbished, so, with the amount I saved, I didn't really mind the small extra expense. The other issue is the sound -- it actually is awful. If you plan to buy a computer that has great sound quality, this one is not for you. If you want a workhorse, this is a good one.

Good Value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this primarily for internet, email, and some home business applications including Microsoft Office (not included). Very quiet and quick except for occasional slower response time with wireless keyboard and mouse.

Not Good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this computer for just a week and have already had to hard boot it more than I can count. It has a problem with locking up no matter what I am working on. Whether watching or editing movies and videos, or playing games. It is not just when I am on the internet it is also locking up working offline. I like the HP products and will continue to buy them but, this is the worst computer I have ever purchased and would not recommend it to anyone.

Wish I could give it a zero star rating
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this desktop computer for an advanced database class I am taking online. To my dismay, whenever installing a program such as MS SQL Server I would get a blue death screen and my computer would restart. I finally got SQL server on my computer, and then it continued to give random BSOD and shut down when I was using the Internet, sometimes even just on my school website. Spent a total of 5 hours with HP tech support with ZERO solution and refusal to replace it because it wasn't bought DIRECTLY from HP. The errors could not be recreated, as they just happened randomly whenever they wanted. Often times in the middle of working on assignments, mind you I am a computer science major and it is NOT fun to lose code. At the end of it all, I had to purchase a new computer so I could be successful in school, with no help from HP and I will never purchase an HP again.

Dont get fooled by the razzle dazzle
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this HP Envy as it appeared to be too good to be true for everything it offered for the price. Well, got it home, oops no VGA connection. No big deal went and spent 30 dollars for an adapter...come home hook everything up and...UGH... system freezes up first five minutes of use...and then after making sure everything was updated, wham bam thing freezes up again and needs to be hard booted every time it does so. I should have trusted the negative reviews that say this happens because what do you know, IT DOES!!! also, when it goes to sleep you have to hard boot it to get it to wake up...I think HP needs to wake the heck up!!!

Poor quality product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this computer based on the specs. At first it ran great. Then, less than 30 days after my purchase, the computer shut down, never to start again. I brought it into Best Buy, they tested it & told me the Motherboard was shot. Hoping this was a weird fluke, I got a replacement. I've had this one for a couple of hours now. I'm not even going to bother trying to transfer my files again. It's already frozen up three times. I've had to force restart it each time. Looks like I'll be bringing it back in the morning.

Excellent Machine
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this to replace a slowly dying laptop. I have zero complaints about this machine, AND it's my first HP computer. I couldn't be happier with it. Did I mention I'm also a gamer and this holds up beautifully with multiple RAM-hogging programs running all at once. If you are thinking of purchasing this machine and you have an older (2012 and older) monitor, be prepared to purchase an adapter cable (about $30.00). There is no hook-up on this tower for the older cables at all.

Definitely Recommend This One :)
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was looking to replace my old (dying) desktop and came across the Envy here on Best Buy's website. Good specs, great price. Case is a little on the large side, but it sits down next to my desk so it's more or less out of the way and not a problem. Quick start up and lots of ports that are easily accessible without pulling the whole case out of where I have it placed. I've had it up and running for a couple of months and am satisfied with performance. Solid CPU in my opinion.

Very good product for typical home use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This PC is great for general home use, web surfing, financial programs, word processing, etc. It starts up quickly and with my moderately good internet connection downloads don't take long. I didn't buy it for gaming, but my son likes to use it to play Minecraft and Rocket League. We did have to get a new keyboard because the response time of what they provided was fairly slow. I got this on sale and it was a great bargain.
