Bad experience
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this as an open box item. I had it 3 days I couldn't play any movies on disk. because the computer BIOS system couldn't detect a DVD disk drive. I called HP Support who checked the BIOS and the entire system. They even told me to open up the casing and switch a cable, to the OSS. Nothing worked. The unit wouldn't even start after I switched the cable. They wouldn't not replace the computer just the OSS.. I took it back to Best Buy and got a full refund.

30 days later, already regret this purchase
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer has not worked correctly since day 1. My mistake was blaming chrome for freezing up for 2 weeks and missing out on the opportunity to return this computer. It continues to randomly freeze, regardless of what browser I use. This runs worse than the 8 year old gateway that I bought this to replace. HP customer service is atrocious. I have had 3 chat support sessions with no resolution. The final CSR suggested I pay for their more advanced tech support. Im NOT paying them to fix a computer Ive only had for 30 days. Overall, I would not recommend this product, and, based on their terrible CS, I would not recommend HP products in general.

find a different computer. this one lacks quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had HP desktop computers for a long time and I have to tell you that this one really lacks. The optical drive doesn't work any more after only 4 weeks. It seems a bit slower despite having 12 G of ram. I plan to upgrade the ram to 16 G. So, I have to tell you that HP decided to use laptop ram, obviously to cut costs. The ram is rated at 1.35v so be very are that using a 1.5 v card for ram will NOT work. This unit has no compatibility at all. The internal wifi is also lame. Just find a different computer. this one sucks.

Bad optical drive
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.About six months ago I bought a Hewitt Packard Envy desktop computer. It came with an optical DVD drive that would only read some of the standard DVDs from Netflix. An inexpensive external drive read them all. Hewitt Packard wanted to charge me to “fix” their drive that should have originally come with the software to read common DVDs.

Would not recommend
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have had it for 5 months and now will not power up. Now have to use my tablet for 2-4 weeks while my defective computer is being repaired at Best Buy. I am told it may be the mother board. How can I expect this unit to last as long as my last HP? I bought this after reading plenty of reviews. I have even tried to see what the trade in value of this unit is and just be done with HP. Who makes a desktop that will perform? Hopefully if you buy one you will have better luck than I have had with this HP Product.

Very Dissapointing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After about 4 months with this computer it started freezing whenever I tried to watch video or play a game. Of course I went through customer services with HP trying to get a new one since it comes with a manufacturers warranty, but was left empty handed. This computer is very overpriced for what its worth, and do not recommend spending the money on it unless your not expecting very much out of it.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Trying to help my elderly mother get set up with a decent computer. This isn't it and going back tomorrow. From the get-go the dreaded blue wheel spins constantly...even typing emails! It's hung up several times in the first week. Windows 10 updates provide no help. All the bloatware can't be helping matters. The computer is oozing of bloatware...ridiculous. HP and/or Windows 10 blew it with this one.

2 HP Envys...both failed!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Read a LOT of reviews. Most said this was a great computer. The 1st one started acting strangely, then got worse. It had over 50,000 error messages. Tried everything to fix it. No luck. Took it to Best Buy and they exchanged it for another of the same model. Now having different issues with this one. It's useless. Best Buy won't help with this one. AVOID THIS PC!!!
