HP Envy Desktop 32 GB -- I like it

My desktop was very old and I desperately needed a new one. I used the "compare" tool on bestbuy.com to compare this HP Envy Desktop to others, including another Envy Desktop with less GB. I bit the bullet and invested in this more expensive one as I have a lot of videos and need the space. I like the smaller size of this desktop, and the speed cannot be beat (especially compared to the speed of an older computer that was lagging). What I am experiencing now, when the system is dormant overnight, is lag time in the system waking up when I move the mouse or touch the space bar to activate it. Previously, it was immediate. I don't know if it has anything to do with my system set-up or if this delay is a reflection of wear and tear, which would be disappointing to experience so soon after having it.

The computer itself has been excellent. It comes closest to being an affordable replacement for the self-assembled desktop I've been using for the last 10 years. But the user information which came with the computer is simply inadequate, and not well backed up with model-specific online help either. The instructions for adding SSDs or HDs are useful only in combination with trial and error disassembly. That's too bad, because the computer is cleverly designed for simple modification once you get beyond the text-free ambiguous diagrams. (They probably work fine for an engineer already familiar with the product.) Further, HP online resources defy a match with a particular model out of the many similar ones HP has marketed. For example, one of my challenges has been with port interpretation. Ports are identified with arcane symbols hardly visible anywhere but on a brightly lighted location at eye level. A simple diagram of port locations would make things easy, but none came with the computer and the only ones I could find online were for other models. That small deficiency is even more irritating when you are making connections on the back by feel. These problems are small potatoes compared with the excellent performance so far of the machine, and I'd take off only half a star if I could.

Replaced my 15 year old desktop with this HP model. Couldn't be happier with the speed and performance of this PC. The Geek Squad transferred the data from my old hard drive to this one in store. I would recommend this HP hands down.

I purchased this computer a few weeks ago, and I absolutely love it. The performance is incredibly fast, and I’m surprised by some reviews advising against it for gaming. So far, I’ve downloaded and played Call of Duty, Battlefield, and Counter-Strike, and all of them run flawlessly without any lag or issues. If you’re considering this computer for gaming, I highly recommend it.

The HP Envy Desktop is an impressive machine that delivers excellent performance at a great price. We've purchased three of these desktops for our team, and they have consistently met our high expectations for users who require robust performance. One of the standout features of the HP Envy is its speed. The Intel Core i7 processor paired with 32GB of memory ensures smooth multitasking and quick processing times. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card adds a solid boost to visual performance, making it suitable for tasks that require high graphics processing power. The 1TB SSD provides ample storage and rapid data access, enhancing the overall efficiency of the system. The included keyboard is another plus point. It's modern and slim, with a sleek look and feel that we appreciate, even though it isn't backlit. The design is aesthetically pleasing and adds a touch of sophistication to the workspace. However, it's important to note that the HP Envy Desktop is a prebuilt system. While this contributes to its affordability, it also means that some components might not be of the highest quality compared to custom-built PCs. For this reason, we wouldn't recommend it for gaming enthusiasts who demand top-tier performance and customizability. Another downside is the amount of bloatware pre-installed on the system, which can be a hassle to remove and may impact the initial performance. Additionally, the RAM speed and the smaller power supply are lower than expected at this price point, which might limit the system's upgrade potential and overall performance. In summary, the HP Envy Desktop offers fantastic specs and performance at a reasonable price. Its speed, modern design, and robust performance make it a great investment for business users. However, due to its prebuilt nature, the presence of bloatware, lower RAM speed, and smaller power supply, it may not be the best option for gaming.

After doing extensive research to find a cutting edge replacement for my trustworthy HP Pavilion HPE i& Intel Cpu powered PC, I discovered this HP - Envy Desktop - Intel Core i7 - 32GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 - 1TB SSD. It looks like a computer equivalent to an F35 stealth fighter incorporating the latest Nvidia and Intel chips, plus 32GB Ram and 1TB SSD hard drive. I am very excited about getting my hands on this baby in contrast to my 14 year old HP which did have 16GB of Ram, and Intel i7 2.8 GZ cpu and an ASUS Radeon R9 290 graphics card (graphics card and 8GB of ram were upgrades). The Geek Squad will be doing the transfer at no charge as I upgraded my My Best Buy membership form Plus to Total. I will be getting this done next week and I will follow up with a report on the impact of the new generation tech.

This computer is great, with 32 ram in the memory, multitasking is not an issue. The 1TB SSD hard drive is nice, but if you have a lot of photos and music files, you may want to get a larger hard drive installed. It boots up quick which is nice, so you can get things done quickly. Windows 11 takes a little getting used to for your operating system. The graphics card is great with a wonderful display of colors. If you still have discs that you use to play games and music, you may want to purchase an external optical disc drive to use them. Connecting to the internet is very easy with this computer. It also has built in Bluetooth, so if you want to connect your Bluetooth devices to it, there is no problem in doing that. Also with 8 USB ports, you can plug your USB devices with ease. I got mine during Black Friday sales, and I was able to save some money on it. With its compact design it will sit on any desktop. It comes with a wireless keyboard and mouse. It has only one HMDI port for your monitor. It is a great machine.

    HP Envy Desktop Review

I purchased two HP Envy, Intel Core i7, Desktops with 1TB SSD, 32GB RAM, NVIDIA RTV 4060, and Windows 11 Home (upgraded to Pro), to replace my two old HP EliteDesk computers (both Windows 7 upgraded 2 times to Win 10 Pro) that I had been using for many years at my two homes. I had been shopping desktop comuter replacements for some time and the HP Envy Desktops I purchased provided very high technical value for the price point, making the purchase of two HP Envy Desktops quite affordable. I have been using the HP Envy Desktops for about 2 weeks now and I'm very satisfied with the display graphics and speed at which these HP Envy Desktops start-up, launch software, transfer files between computers and to cloud storage, and load web pages. I would definitely recommend the HP Envy Desktop computers for anyone looking for a great desktop computer value for the money.

The graphics card, processor and RAM have worked well for photo editing. I recently purchased a Nikon Z8 with 45 mp resolution. The larger files were pitting pressure on my laptop capability. The HP did the trick.

The build quality is fantastic, with a sleek design that blends perfectly with my workspace. What impressed me most is the speed and responsiveness—whether I'm multitasking, gaming, or working on demanding software, everything runs smoothly without a hitch. The graphics and processing power are top-notch, providing crystal-clear visuals and handling heavy tasks like video editing and gaming effortlessly. The cooling system works efficiently, keeping the PC quiet and cool even during extended use. Setup was easy, and it's highly customizable, allowing me to upgrade components in the future. Overall, this PC has exceeded my expectations, offering excellent value for money. If you're looking for a reliable, powerful, and stylish machine, I highly recommend this model!

Reliable Powerhouse of a desktop computer

This Desktop is my re-entry into commercial, off the shelf desktops. I edit video, play video games and run business applications. This computer can handle it all. It is a mid-rise tower, small foot print - quiet. Has plenty of ports for expand. I would not add much internally without upgrading the power supply - so if you are looking at customizing this rig, you probably should look elsewhere. But if you are looking for a steady powerhouse right out of the box that you need for everything, this is your solution.

The device mostly meets my expectations. With the SSHD, it's very quiet and fast. Setup and file transfer from old device was easy. Unfortunately, the sound failed after a week of use, a problem, while not vital for me is aggravating. Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to address it with HP support yet.

Powerful and easy to navigate. Set-up was done by the Geeksquad but was easy to load programs at home. The 32 GB memory upgrade fro 16 was definitely worthwhile to load up other programs for work or play.
