Installation and configuration was pretty quick and simple. It took about 30 minutes to get it in a usable state, but that was mostly due to windows update. Everytning worked as expected, I would have been nice to have an HDMI cable included.

I went into the store to get a computer that was advertised on sale, but after comparing a couple of models, I spent the extra few dollars and got much more computer. The ENVY was easy to set up and get going and has been trouble free for the first month of operation.

Fit and finish is very good. I did run into an issue where the onboard wifi connection to the motherboard came loose when I added a video card. It didn't take much for it to get loose. As other have noted, I don't like where the front USB / Headphones are located on top of case - facing backwards. No multi-card reader, just a single SD(?) slot. The included Bluetooth keyboard and mouse is not the best. The keyboard is not a full-size board so its not ergonomic. On the plus side it takes up less desk space. The mouse felt really cheap - edges are noticeable when you move your thumb up/down.. The stock power supply is 300watt and was more than adequate to handle the add-on GTX950 (low power version) I added. I did a clean wipe of the OS and re-install of W10 (Home). The license key is bake onto the BIOS, so you will not need to re-enter it as long as you use the same OS sku (i.e. W10 Home). Noise wise, very quiet.

Other than that hp forgot the form follows function "law" when it comes to optical drives and the PC does not have an RGB monitor port, this hp desktop appears to be a competent, fast PC. The DVD drive is mounted vertically and is awkward to use. There is no way to mount a second drive. There were no startup issues with the unit. It did come loaded with demo virus software that is difficult to remove if you want to use something else and haven't done it before.

When I bought the computer there were problems with the operating system that couldn't be resolved so Best Buy replaced it and the replacement works great! I would recommend it.

Old computer quit and needed more speed, power, storage, and ram. This HP fits all those needs and the Windows 10 is better than Windows 7 that I was used to...

I was told HP Laptop beyond repair. Went 2 desktop

A year ago, my Dell desktop 'fried'; a computer 'geek' friend of mine suggested I purchase a Laptop instead of a desk computer. I did so; less than a year later it too had problems and I was told by the Best Buy Geek Squad it was beyond repair; the graphics board was fried and they suggested I return it to HP. They couldn't do that, but I could since it is still under warranty. So far, no response from HP. I talked with the wonderful Geek Squad Staff at the Pasadena store and told them I decided to return to a desktop model and was set on a particular item. They told me the pros and cons of the model and suggested I think of another model which had more of everything and would be more reliable/dependable. After a bit of thinking (5 minutes) I decided to go with the HP desktop. They moved all of my files that they were able to save from the Laptop to the desktop. I was told it would be ready in 2 days, but 5 days later, it was ready for me to pickup. I got it home and it wasn't responding. Frustrated, I called the Geek Squad and asked for in home service. He took care of the set up and the problems (so I thought). The first day it worked ok; the next day, it wouldn't wake up: Kept telling me it was in 'sleep mode'. I called the store and they told me to bring it in. The next day I received a call and they asked me to come in. I did so. They apologized as the unit I purchased (also) had a hard drive problem, but not to worry, they would move my files to another new HP desktop model. Another two days lost. (it was critical at this time, as I was in the midst of preparing Easter services programs for my church choir. Yikes! At last I got a call: my desktop was ready to be picked up. When I removed the previous desktop, I had labeled each of the wires/cords to help me with the re-installation. All went well and so far everything is working and preforming as I would expect- as it should. Best Buy Computer sales and service people, along with the Geek Squad in the Pasadena store on East Foothill Blvd. are A-ok in my book! Thanks to All!

I purchased this PC because I knew that I could basically plug in and go. I love HP products, and this purchase did not disappoint. The 16Gb of RAM and the 2TB hard drive with the i7 processor ... are the perfect combination. I am not a big gamer, but this computer handles all the games that I do play. It handles all of the MS OFFICE programs and Windows 10 with ease.

This is a great PC with high speed, graphics and utility. It's easy to use and setup. Looks clean and neat. No DCI input for an older monitor but you can get an inexpensive DCI to HDMI cable. Graphics and photos are beautiful.

    Not as advertised

Bought this, specifically, for its listed ability to have THREE displays. That is not true. Two HDMI ports...NO DVI...NO VGA... two displays, max. Sound card is NOT as advertised...single port sound output, not even CLOSE to 5.1 advertised. Dont know if it's the best buy website, or HP that's not correct, but either way, it's not what's advertised (see screenshot of what was advertised).

I had windows vista before I bought this computer and I liked it. But it was old and slow. But this HP Envy with 16 GB memory is a very good computer. I bought it 3 days ago and this windows 10 had me lost the first day and the second day I started loving everything about it. I just hope it keeps working the way its working now. The salesman at Best Buy was real helpful, a real nice man his name was Robert he showed me some good stuff about it before I bought it.

So far this seems like a very good computer. My last HP had the card reader burn out shortly after buying it, so I was leary of buying another, but have had no problems so far. And, I must say, the computer is so quiet! It is hard to know it is on. I have added a second 2TB drive, and the TV tuner from the old computer, both were read PnP without a hitch.

I purchased this PC because of my Microsoft 7 system being outdated. I searched reviews and computers and decided on this one. I'm very happy with this PC. I love the speed, storage, and RAM space! The Windows 10 threw me for a bit, but working with it and adjusting my old Windows 7 habits has made it a nice machine for me. I had my Window 7 PC for over 7 years and expect to have this one longer.
