I was not expecting the laptop I got for $400 It was like NEW. Since it said refurbished I was expecting some type of wear but to my surprise it was NEW. The specs on this laptop are far superior than some laptops at even twice the price. You just cant go wrong with this laptop. I have it for almost a bit over a month and I couldn't be happier. I would recommend to anyone.

I purchased this as a graduation gift for my son. It arrived and initially would not start. After several hours of charging it started and I was able to begin setting it up. Next issue was the battery would not surpass 51% charge level and if unplugged would shut itself off immediately. HP system scan found a battery fault and started me through a replacement process that required me to remove the battery to get the model and serial information. This simple step corrected all the issues. Next hurdle was Windows 8, dislike very much. Found app to mimic 7 features, installed many software updates and personal programs. Son is extremely happy with the result. Wonderful laptop, truly an amazing deal with a hiccup or two, but over all WONDERFUL.

Great moderately priced laptop. This provided more than Enough computing power for my needs. The screen provide vibrant color and quick response times and the built in speakers provided excellent sound quality. No need to spend mega buck When this was an excellent computer.

Unfortunately this review is more about the lack of customer service from Best Buy than the product itself. We were saving this laptop as a graduation gift and when the gift was opened, we discovered that it was shipped with the wrong power adapter. At first I thought, "No problem, we'll just go to the store and they'll exchange it for the right one." They did not. I was told that Best Buy policy was for me to return the entire laptop, get my money back, and buy a new laptop with the correct cord. Why did they not just exchange the cord with one that fit off of the shelf? Why did they not agree to remedy the problem that they caused in the most convenient way for the customer? Why would I want to return a gift and start the laptop shopping process all over again because of their mistake? I am extremely dissatisfied with their lack of customer service. Buyer beware.

Purchased online refurbished, was skeptical at first, but when it arrived it looked brand new i would say 96% new, only defect i noticed was that the HP logo had scuff marks, not noticeable at first but not big enough to warrant a return and no documentation came with the laptop. Which is a bummer had to go online to learn about the laptop. Laptop is great, for the price and specs it performs well, updated it to Windows 8.1 (which is free but not mentioned on here). Overall it's not a gaming laptop for hardcore games, but it is quick and fingerprint scanner is quick and accurate. Battery life is great for me I got about 5 hours normal web browsing and such. (Compared to my 1 hours on my Asus g73 i7). Also to note it's plastic painted aluminum but actually is pretty heavy for how thin it is, but that does not concern me, makes it feel sturdy. Just wish it had backlit keyboard to get 5 Stars.

Almost Didn't Get It... Glad I Did!

I had pretty much decided on the HP Envy and was looking for options when I came across the Geek Squad. I was excited about the price but was worried because the one review it had was less than complimentary. I decided to go ahead anyway, but was a little nervous. I'm now glad I did. I have to admit, the learning curve has taken some time. I had a hard time figuring out how to find files with Windows 8. That became much easier when I did the free upgrade to Windows 8.1, which put a start button back where it used to be in Windows 7. It also took me a while to learn how to use the track pad. It is very different than any I've ever used. With practice and with some playing around with the settings, I'm now able to do things I never dreamed were possible. I can zip around webpages, go through emails, go from tab to tab in Office with just sweeps and touches. It is amazing. This laptop runs cooler than any I've ever had before. With all my other laptops I'd have to set it on a board on my lap because the heat would become very uncomfortable. This one runs cool enough I can put it directly on my lap with no problem. It is also extremely quiet. I was blown away with the built in networking systems. I went to install print drivers for my wireless printers only to find that it had already found it and was ready to print. It easily accesses the many different networks I connect to during the day. Greatest deal possible for a great machine.

I order this refurbished laptop a couple months ago when it was featured as deal of the day. For $350 you cannot ask for anything better. ESC key doesn't work well, but I knew it was a refurbished laptop and something was gonna be wrong with it. Just so you know, its fan makes a lot of noise and battery life isn't good.

I am absolutely in love with this computer. Windows 8 is actually not bad at all, sure the start screen is a little weird and takes some time getting used to but it's practically idiot proof, it's not hard to navigate at all. There ARE buttons in the touch pad, they are just not sectioned off and obvious. at the bottom of the touch pad you CAN right and left click, it works perfectly normal. Actually the keyboard kind of reminds me of a mac book so I really like it.The computer is so much thinner than I thought it would be, it's great! It's also really fast and the display is actually fantastic. I bought this for about $400 including shipping and it was a really great deal in my opinion. The shipping was good too, it took a little longer than I wanted it to because I was excited to get it, but it was perfect when it got here. I would definitely recommend.

    Terrible laptop

Bought this laptop for everyday use. Basically just school work and everyday browsing. At first, this seemed too good to be true- 8gb of ram, i5 2.6ghz processor, 750gb HDD, HDMI, full 1080p screen, and even Beats audio- all for $420 and some change. Got it 5 days after I ordered it. Came with the laptop, a plain Geek Squad cardboard box, charger, and a Geek Squad card. First impressions were awesome. Looked great and felt great, despite the "G" and "F2" keys being noticibly used. Booted it up and immediately noticed the touchpad being excessively sensitive. Barely touching it would make it "shake" all over and click random things. After a frustrating (but fairly quick) setup process, it was still doing it. I adjusted mouse speed, sensitivity, touchsense (or whatever program they use), and even tried different drivers with no avail. Called tech support and they too had no solution after 30 minutes of diagnosis. Aside from the touchpad problems, I also noticed the hard drive was excessively loud, the right click did not work, and the Beats audio provided no noticible difference. If these issues were fixed, I'd probably rate it 4 stars based on build quality. Until then, I'll avoid this laptop like a plague.
