In the box:
• Left & Right hearing aids;
• Charging case;
• USB (A to C) charging cable;
• 6 pairs of tips (small, medium, & large; foam & silicone);
• 1 cleaning brush;
• Soft carrying case
Setup:
Pairing was easy with the HP Hearing app. On first use, you will be prompted to go through the “EarID” hearing test. You can pause the test, but have to leave the app open to continue from where you left off. The app identified my test environment as “quiet”, but the results suggested that it should have been much quieter (see below).
Use as hearing aid:
Tune out or tune in. World mode controls the active noise canceling (ANC). With World mode on, ambient sounds are amplified. With World mode off, ANC is on and ambient sounds are (mostly) blocked.
With World mode on, Focus mode can be used to selectively amplify sounds in front of you (~160-degree arch). This is helpful for conversations (when the speaker is in front of you) or for TV audio (without surround). Focus mode off is my preference for most other situations.
With EarID turned on, the HP Hearing PRO attempts to compensate for the results obtained during the hearing test performed at setup. For me, the result was a shrill pulsing tone that was unbearable. It would have been great to have been able to manually fine-tune the equalization rather than going through the entire testing sequence again with no guarantee of getting an improved profile.
There are notable microphonics in all active amplification modes. However, the HP Hearing PRO is considerably better in this regard than other OTC hearing aids I have tried.
The hearing aids were comfortable during extended use (4 hours).
The only signal processing appears to be the equalization applied when EarID mode is on and the ANC when World mode is off.
Use as in-ear monitor (IEM):
I had surprisingly good performance when listening to streaming audio. Most consumer-level IEMs are bass-forward. The HP Hearing PRO has a refreshingly neutral sound signature. They also have good hear-through performance when World mode is on and Focus mode is off. The volume controls in the HP Hearing app affects only amplification of ambient sounds (not audio playback). Turning World mode off engages the ANC and lets you enjoy the audio without distraction.
Use as hands-free headset:
Short taps on the left ear answer incoming calls or mute the microphone for calls in progress. A long (2 second) tap terminates calls. Incoming audio is clear. Outgoing audio is clear and echo-free.
Overall:
I have tried several OTC hearing aids. Notwithstanding my bad experience with EarID, the HP Hearing PRO is the first one that I can recommend. It also performs well as an ANC IEM and as a hands-free headset.
Pros: Easy setup, easy insertion, good fit, neutral audio profile
Cons: EarID tests can be sensitive to the test environment and generate undesirable equalization profiles.

They are quite large. The coupling to a cell phone was easy.
I wore them for five days and they worked fine ,but on the morning of the sixth day they stopped working . I couldn't even get them coupled even though they were charged.

HP Hearing PRO OTC Hearing Aids
Design and Fit:
These hearing aids have a sleek design that makes them comfortable to wear. In addition, their IP54 water and dust-resistant design ensures they are durable and reliable for everyday use. I've worn them in various situations and have experienced no issues with fitting or comfort.
Wireless Connectivity and Voice Control:
The built-in Bluetooth 5.0 technology allows for seamless wireless music streaming and phone calls. I love that I can connect these hearing aids to my smartphone and enjoy my favorite tunes or take calls without any hassle. Plus, they are compatible with Siri and Google Assistant voice control on supported devices, making my life even easier.
Active Noise Cancellation and Sound Quality:
The Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) circuitry works wonders at minimizing environmental noise, which has been particularly helpful for me in crowded places. These hearing aids feature 9.2mm drivers that deliver high-quality, natural sound, and the built-in feedback management system effectively reduces high-pitched feedback noise. In addition, the 12 processing channels ensure optimum sound quality.
HP Hearing PRO App and Personalization:
The HP Hearing PRO app provides a user-specific hearing assessment and sound adjustments through its clinically validated EarID hearing assessment feature, which uses NAL-NL2 calibration algorithms. This has made a difference in adjusting the sound for my hearing needs. I also appreciate the selectable ambient sound amplification, active noise cancellation, and Focus Mode, which amplifies conversations while blocking environmental noises.
Battery Life:
With a battery life of 8 hours, I can wear these hearing aids throughout the day without any worries. The included charging case holds enough power for an additional three full charges (up to 32 hours total), so I always have a backup. In addition, the spoken low-battery alarm audibly alerts me when it's time to charge the hearing aids, which is a helpful feature.
I highly recommend giving these hearing aids a try!

I purchased mine 18 months ago, and last week they quit working. They show a full charge, but will not turn on...yes, the seal in my ears is good. HP support indicated a response was coming within 48 hours. It has now been 4 days with no help from them. In the meantime, I can't hear!!! If you buy these at the current heavily discounted price, don't expect good support from HP.

App Too Limited

I found the app to be very disappointing because the advertising led me to believe it was capable of much more. Considering this was an "over the counter" purchase without any assistance, I was unable to fine tune them and make necessary adaptations that a professional would have done or that a really good, thorough app could have accomplished.

This item may be just fine... but it did not work for me. When I tried to set it up I couldn't hear any of the tones to get it to work. It my be that it just doesn't work because my hearing is beyond it's capabilities. I returned it.

I even had 2 replacements sent to me by the manufacturer each of those didn't work as well.
My original set stopped working after a couple weeks. It would not pair with the phone anymore. The replacement was broken out of the box, the right bud could not even play a sound. NO quality control apparently. They sent another replacement and it was broken exactly the same as 1st replacement set. No confidence that they know how to manufacturer a working product.

Poor BestBuy Service. The hearing aids stopped working. I asked Best Buy online support for warranty. They told me the device has 2 year warranty and they made an appointment for me to go to their shop. When I went to the shop nobody knew what to do with the appointment and they told me that they cannot do anything. Waste of time
