This printer works perfect! I did not want a white case. This printer was black and fit the application.

This printer model is a defect: several online posts relating to it just quitting. And that's what this one did - using either a USB or CAT5 network installation. It set up and worked for 2 days and quit. One hour of trying to get it reinstalled was a waste of time. Set it up as a network printer and it worked for 2 weeks and then quit. I would not recommend this printer to anyone.

The stores do not stock black ink cartridges for this printer, and you cannot order them online. They will tell you that when you run out of black ink, return the printer to the store for credit.

This printer is defective. It came without a paper tray and had a scanning error that we had to send it back to HP. THey sent us another one that had a feeder error. Not worth the money.

    Hard setup but great printer

Setting up this printer has been a journey. This is the second of this kind of printers we have had. The first one would not print or scan so we brought it in to best buy and they shipped us a new one. The second printer had the same problem as the first, so after two and a half hours on the phone while geek squad was making a house call and $107.00 the printer was working. The problem was that you need to remove the little orange tabs inside the printer and manual doesn't say to remove them and they look like they are part of the printer. Now the printer works great and makes vivid copies. So to save yourself time and money by removing these orange tabs.

Great Machine for About a Month When It Broke

I bought this machine for my home office and for about a month it was fantastic - it did everything as it should, the copies were done quickly, colors sharp, scanner good. Then out of nowhere I got the message "Scanner Error 22" after which the machine would power up, then this message would appear and it would do nothing. This is when things go downhill fast. The HP service is the worst imaginable. The only online service is a PAY FOR service, there is no free online assistance other than a forum in which unofficial and customer questions and answers are posted. It was on the forum that I discovered "Scanner Error 22" to be a common problem for which there is no soluation currently. Eventually I found a number for FREE PHONE assistance. After over 2 hours on the phone (not including the time I was just disconnected after beginning a call) a hardware problem was diagnosed and it was agreed to send me a new machine, BUT in order to not wait up to 3 WEEKS for the replacement I had to pay $17 for expedited shipping to get it within 3 working days. I did just receive the new printer, set it up, and it seems to work. I expect it to break again soon and at that point I will not endure the HP customer service, but will recycle it and buy one from a different company. Under no circumstances would I recommend that anyone ever purchase this machine.

This is a bad product. It has a screen and it stop to working 1 or 2 months after you buy. I don't know but I have another HP printer with the same screen and it doesn't work too. I recommend to buy another brand.

    Not as advertised

I had very specific requirements for a printer: color laser multifunction with automatic duplexing. The specs listed seemed to indicate that this printer accommodated auto duplexing. Not so! Duplexing is manual. Not what I wanted at all. I'm returning it as soon as I can get it into my car and back to the store.
